Talksport report spurs r preparing a bid for James McCarthy with younes kaboul or lennon as part exchange kaboul is just crap as for Lennon every Everton fan wants to see Lennon back but not at th expense of McCarthy plus I don't think we will sell McCarthy to anyone plus he is on long contract so we hold all the cards I think all the newspapers r blowing this totally out of proportion trying to make more of it than there actually is

{Ed025's Note - i agree duke, but nothing surprises me with daniel levy mate, the man is a cad..for want of a better word..

As a spurs fan there are plus and minus points regarding levy! What he gets for our out going players is unbelievable. What he does in terms of stabilisation for our club is phenomenal, probably the best run club in Europe? I think most clubs would have him as their chairman? Absolutely no debt! As for mccarthy I and many others who support our great club are big fans of his, if Daniel would offer azza and some money then I think that for us would be a good deal, azza isn't wanted back at the club due to his attitude and the incident on the training ground. Think poch wants rid of the bad wood. We would probably even throw kaboul in for free. Good luck with the forthcoming season

@Brinkley, you're right on Levy getting value for money on your outgoing players but he is horrible when offering unrealistically low fees for other teams players! Throwing in 'azza' and some cash will surely represent a good deal for you lot but not for us. Ideally, Jimmy Mac will be rewarded with a new contract as us fans here don't want to see him go. Start bidding at 30m and see where that takes you. Best run club in europe is a big statement, I think, although you won't like it, that Arsenal are higher than you on that score.
Ps you can keep Kaboul mate!

I think the stability has more to do with Joe Lewis than Levy pal but I do agree that when it comes to selling players he makes sure he gets top dollar for them.

Chelsea are probably the best run club in England.

{Ed025's Note - i agree mate..

I wouldn't say Chelsea were the best run club at all! A pre tax profit of £19.1 mill and a debt of £958mill compared to our pre tax profit of £36 mill and a zero debt, as for levy being horrible when offering unrealistically low fees. I did say there were plus points and minus points when it comes to levy. And that is a frustratingly low minus point. It's going to be interesting to see if he sanctions a bid. it's the first time in a long time he is letting a manager choose his players

If Abramovic left Chelsea tomorrow, they would still comoete at the top. Chelsea do not need to worry about anything at the moment in terms of how the club is run. Who has been manager mate? Benitez was temporary as was Di Matteo, he was never going to let them pick the players. Like I said, if Abramovic left Chelsea tomorrow, Chelsea would still function very well as a club.

No they wouldn't. Because they wouldn't be able to pay the silly wages they pay now, so players would go elsewhere. They need the security of his money. If he walked and took what they owed him out of the club they would be worth a quid again. Many football fans are transient, they go to whoever is winning at the time. It's the shirt and badge they become fashion accessories, and no one likes wearing gear that's out of fashion.

That's daft Woburn. If Abramovich left it would be because someone just as wealthy had bought Chelsea. Or do you think an astute businessman like him would walk away and cut his losses? However you cut it, Chelsea as a top club, are here to stay.
