Its all well and good saying we've rejected the bid lancerboy, but imo we are only holding out for a higher offer and Stones will be gone, and if that happens so will i. I am sick to death of this board taking the piss outta us loyal fans who spend our hard earned cash following our club home and away and we get nothing in return. We are told were not a selling club if that's right why do we always sell our crown jewels to the highest bidder? We unearth a gem and soon as someone wants to pay x amount for them we sell them.Stones should not be allowed to leave Everton no matter how much is offered, even if his head has been turned he should be told you're here at least till your contract runs out.weve got potentially a future captain of club and country on our hands who can go on to be one of the best centre halves in europe and I like many want him to do that playing for us not playing for Chelski or whoever. I am sick to death of this board only seeing pound signs so they can line there pockets that's all there doing imo. Where has all this bumper sky deal money gone? Why have we only spent £4.3 million pound on one player? Why has it gone quiet all of a sudden about a new ground? Why hasn't Mccarthy had a new contract offer? A nd most importantly why are we always looking to sell to the highest bidder when were told we don't have to? in saying that we've not sold Stones as yet, but I think its only inevitable we will with this board of freeloaders sucking the life outta our great club and outta me while there at it.I want to know where all the money has gone, show me the money. Rant over.

if Stones was a product of our youth system I would be saying keep him but fact is the lad owes us nothing,

the lad had to wait for his chance due to distin's form.

(we flashed the cash and flexed our little power to get him just like Chelsea are doing now)

he was a youth prodigy before we got him and was always going to the top.

And who would you like him to go to the top with? because it won't be us botn with this board running our club. ssn reporting Everton have no intention of selling John Stones and have twice told Chelski he's not for sale. Finally a response.

Hardly a selling club now as gg has pointed out none of us want stones gone but realistically if an offer say 50m plus and not a penny less comes in then as a club we would have to consider but only if invested back into squad I really hope not love to keep him many evertonians at the moment seem to think we are going backwards right now but tbh I am very excited by our squad right now some top players with some ( very exciting youngsters ) comin through a lot of whom are English which is really good to see whether Martinez is the right man for job or not which I still believe he is then I think the coming seasons could be an exciting time for us blues

JimmyC, the clubs books are open to scrutiny every year. Where the money goes and who gets what is published for all to see. I can't remember when Everton last paid a dividend to shareholders but I'd guess it's a long time, so the theory that the board are creaming off the profits just isn't true. What the books will show is that it takes a hell of a lot of money to run a premier league football club and that those in charge do a terrific job keeping Everton competitive.
Some may think that now that the television money is coming in things may get better, What I'm afraid of is that it will push transfer fees up and the rich clubs will still have the upper hand.
As for our own transfers, we always do business late in the window. Trust in Roberto, we will have a competitive team to start the season.

IIRC the Everton accounts also have a large bucket for "other" outgoings which have never been explained

Any forensic accountant worth his salt would find out where every penny as gone. The fact that this avenue hasn't been explored leaves me to believe that there's nothing sinister gong on. If any shareholders were suspicious of the book-keeping then they could get the accounts scrutinised. In the modern business word it's almost impossible to deflect money away from a business undetected.
