Bbc say qpr have said 2 firm bids received for Austin but they have not met their valuation and they are in discussion with the clubs.

Wonder if one of those r from us?

I know he prefers London but apparently Spurs more interested in Hernandez and I don't think West Ham know who they really want.

Hope so mate, he not only guarantees goals but he guarantees a variety of goals, tap ins, headers and everything in between. Would be a quality addition.

Agree with Kingy don't think one good season in the prem is enough to warrant a 10m+ transfer fee. Maybe 7 or 8mil. Would prefer Hernandez scored goals wherever he's played without much game time.

The lad knows where the net is but, for the price being mentioned, it would be a bit of a risk knowing that he has a dodgy knee. We have been stung with Gibson, great player but never fit, but that was a gamble worth taking when you consider he cost a couple of million. Can we afford to take a 15m gamble on Austin?

We've taken strikers before on the back of one good goal scoring season Andy Johnson James Beatty ect and things didn't work out. I have a feeling last year might have been more luck than skill for Austin we have to be careful

Simo, I am being realistic by saying 15m is a lot of money to put down on a gamble for two reasons. Firstly, how much do you think we will have to spend this window? We have already spent nearly 5m so that would be 20m in total if we went for Austin. That has to be more than half of our entire transfer budget. Secondly, the lad failed a medical within the last 18 months so, at the very least, there was something serious enough to shelve a transfer. Got to be better options out there if you get real :)
