How annoying. Gerrard encouraging Barkley to leave the club he supports. Something he never had the courage to do himself.

{Ed025's Note - double standards gary, stevie has lived his life by them mate..

This may sound like a stupid red but. i'm not talking from a Liverpool fan as a football fan has Barkley has he got better over the years you look at alli and you see a player. I think Everton fans put to much prussure on the lad unlike we did to Gerrard.

You never put pressure on Gerrard? That guy carried your bang average team all his career. And when he wanted to leave to go to Chelsea it was you fans that pleaded with him to stay. Is that not pressure? Do you not know anything about the club you support?

It was a LOT more serious than his "fans" putting pressure on him not to go to Chelsea. Common knowledge, on Merseyside at least, what happened.

Did we boo the person all say he's the next so so no we don't we let him develop at his own speed . Gerrard was always going to stay he's mr Liverpool and wanted to know where we was going us a club. Maybe you. should let Ross develop and his own speed and slagging him off after one bad game.

{Ed025's Note - gerrard was a very good servant to liverpool MIB but not the nicest of people outside the club, his head was turned by lampard and co and he wanted to leave to go to chelsea but apparently threats were made by certain people and he decided to stay, well so the story goes mate, ross is nowhere near the gerrard level and never will be imo, he makes a rod for his own back at times by being lazy and the crowd at everton dont like that..

I actually agree with everything Gerrard said (hate myself for it) the abuse Barkley gets from some so called fans who are just waiting for him to do 1 misplaced pass is pathetic once again yesterday I argued with 3 fellas behind me over it and if he was to leave those same fans would be calling Barkley a traitor and a Judas 1 thing I will say about that lot they never get on local players backs they support them which is what we should do or for the sake of his own career maybe he will have to leave so not feel the burden of 40000 fans expecting him to single handedly win us every game.

One simple fact. He's not as good as people had thought and hoped he would be.

To be fair, the red supporters put a lot of pressure on SG when it came out he had decided to join Chelsea. Do you not remember the death threats or the burning of replica Gerrard shirts? The lad was forced to stay. With that in mind, and the fact that none of our supporters really care what SG has to say, why should anyone listen to his advice? Advice he never took himself during his career. Nobody at Everton gives a flying you-know-what about anything that comes out of this mans mouth.

Woburnblue, if that's aimed at me I have all my facts buddy as much as I hate the red side they always support their LOCAL players and that must really help them progress whereas Barkley gets abuse at every game Hull away he was abused for most of the game imagine playing for the club you love and the fans do nothing but abuse you it's pathetic and as I said he might have to leave to fulfill his potential then those fans will call him a traitor as I said those fans embarrass our great club.

No they don't. Gerrard was treated like shite when they thought he was leaving, and he would have gone if it hadn't been for personal reasons. I watched Carragher (mr Liverpool) get slated by supporters in the pub because he was to slow and past his prime. They are no different to us. They have the same clown supporters as we do, as every club does. And the only one who can shut them up is the player himself.
