Hi all if Wayne does come to Everton, where in the team would be best to fit him in, maybe just in behind Rom but what happens to Ross he has upped his game lately and it seems to be working, GuernseyBlue.

I don't know about coming off the bench especially when you see Imbrahimovic at United and also at 35,there is plenty of mileage in Waynes legs and still only 31i reckon R K would play him 90mins in most games only my opinion, GuernseyBlue.

I think if we qualify for Europe his quality and experience could help us. I do have to admit though I am torn between wanting him or not.

The lad scored 15 goals last season at nearly 1 in every 2 games and that was in a poor man utd team. I know we are on the up but we must be interested in a player with those stats.
I think it is too early to write him off.

Aldo I agree with Original AJ and Ed025's comments above, I am coming with it from a positive point of few. I would love to see him come back. Not solely just to see him back. I believe he could do a job for us.

Not a starter every game but a valuable player none the less. No doubt about it, he is not the player he used to be. But many players get a lift when they change clubs. Even late on in their career. Look at Barry he has been tremendous for us. The change helped him.

Imagine the lift Rooney would get coming back to his boyhood team. He'd be reborn. His experience and contribution to the club would be invaluable and we would be stupid to turn him down imho.

Not much to lose, if anything, and plenty to gain if you ask me. Rooney is still only 31 but started at 16. I know Barry was a similar age starting and is still going at 35 but Rooney had a lot more games than Barry to contend with. Both at club and country. Also the way Rooney played had to of took a lot out of him. This I also believe.

Still a return to Goodison and he'll get butterflies in his stomach again. We would be the ones to benefit imho. Koeman seems interested. That suits me. He definitely knows what he wants. Even Walsh came out and said he would come if it can be made happen.

It is an extremely hard ask given the form of the Teams above us. I include Liverpool in this because Klopp is to good a manager/ coach to allow this mini-slump to go on. 7th considering the huge changes required and being carried out is in my opinion an excellent start. As RK says one more summer Window should see us ready to challenge the top 4 seriously.

The goals Rooney scored last season came in a poor Utd team and he was playing a deeper role. Pinging passes all over the place. He has at least 3 more seasons in him at the top in my opinion. He sorted his attitude out some years ago and since then has easily been the best English player around. Yes there are some good youngsters coming through now, but Rooney is still one of the best. We should be trying to get the best. Emotional stuff like he is still an Evertonian should not come into it. We should be going for the best players and in my opinion, he still is a top player.
