If all these clubs want Lukaku then let them cough up 100 million. We're not giving him away!

I think Rom is worth about £70M personally. Do you think a punt on Jamie Vardy for about £30M would be a good replacement, he is quick and knows where the goal is. Thoughts.

How do you come to a value of £70m then? How much is Kane worth? How much did Pogba cost?

I like Vardy and you can't argue that he gets goals, but you have to play to his style - balls over the top or in behind.

For me Rom does best with the same style of play but too many times we haven't played those balls this season. I think Sigurdsson would be ideal to sit behind either of them because while I think Ross is a good player, he takes too long to play the ball which gives defenders time to reset. He rarely moves the ball on without four or so touches so I think if we went with a similar style of play if / when Rom leaves, we need a quick-thinking creator in behind them.

Davies is starting to look like he has the instinct to play those types of balls through, but expecting him to do it with 38 league games plus domestic cups and European trips on a Thursday night starting from June is too much.

Really be pleased if we get 75mil plus for Lukaku. I know he would be extremely difficult for us to replace but in reality someone is 9 times out of 10 only worth what someone else is willing to pay. Simple supply and demand. He cannot be compared to Pogba as the latter was already going to guarentee a huge % in shirt sales on signing for Utd. (Lukaku doesn't have a signed boot deal) which I really do believe is a factor in where he ends up. He is completely unproven at CL level, has flattered to deceive at International tournaments and 'on paper' is a classic Flat Track Bully'. If he goes he will miss us as much as we will miss him whatever happens. Hope he stays.

Investment in Pogba was more than footballing reasons. He's a marketing machine. Hard to compare him and any other player.

it was just my personal opinion Brian, I think £70M is about right, but who knows if Chelsea and Man U buy another top striker who will put an offer in for him? PSG, Barcelona or Real haven't shown any interest and apart from China (which I think would be footballing suicide for him) I don't know who else could afford him.

£100m for Rom is about right he's 23 he's only going to get better. That's at least 7 years at the top for him. That's just under 15m a year for a goal scoring machine!
So cough up if you want him!
We don't sell on the cheap anymore!
Rooney left on the cheap all them years ago!
You want Lukaku you have to pay what we want if you want him this summer!
