Eds could you please shed some light to why the Sigurdssons transfer taking so long for a final outcome. So far all our business has been no messing. We want, we buy. Done.
As Sigurdsson's our top priority player. Surely you want him in asap, getting settled and on tour with us. Obviously this hasn't happened and I feel bad for him. His head is probably thinking "what the hell" he ditched to go on tour with Swansea last minute quite literally and now training with the U23's. If we ever do sign him. He's now 2 months behind the rest of everybody else fitting in and getting acquainted. As a supporter to me it looks like a lot of messing around. We've had Lukaku's money equal 3/ 4's of what we spent so far. So surely money isn't an issue. We've known the price for him 50 million and we know Swansea are being stubborn about it. So Everton have 2 choices pay or walk away. I just hope this isn't some tactic to have the deadline day headliner. We all know about the possible transfer so to me it would be a frustrated sigh of relief "finally" and not joys and woohoo's.

Now I've wrote this as a supporter of Everton for 23 years. So I don't know what goes on in the background. Like I said this post like every other post is just a supporters opinion on what we see.

{Ed002's Note - Easy. Nobody has made an acceptable bid.}

Do you know of any new player interest ed mate?

{Ed002's Note - I think much will depend on whether or not a deal can be struck for Sigurdsson Joe. Aside from that we are back to the Giroud situation which will likely need Arsenal to be well on the trail of signing another striker - and they are now heading that way.}

Haha having a melt down here ed02😁.

I understand what you say ed about the fee being agreed. And I get I can sit here and spend Moshiri's money with a click of my fingers.
It's just confusing and I guess frustrating how all Evertons other signings have come across as "Thats the asking price. There you go" But the priority target. The one we'd want in first to settle its like we're dawdling.

Don't shout at me ed hahaha. Just a passionate supporter. I've never been more excited over a new season. And you're probably right getting too excited.

Keep up the brilliant work. I love this site 🤗.

{Ed002's Note - I understand that it is frustrating but the club need to keep spending in check.}

EFC are in quite a strong position for a deal Mowfee. Siggy has shown his interest in joining us by not wanting to go on tour. Swansea won't want to be accepting an offer in the last week of the window and have 40 mill or so to get in a replacement but no time to do it. If Siggy goes and they do not strengthen properly they could risk a relegation scrap they may not be able to get out of this time. They also won't want a player there next season who's head has been messed with over a failed transfer.

we have chased the player since last summer (gylfi) i mean so you can sort of say conclusively that we are after him and the fact that he has shown a willingness to move to us confirms we have been in contact with his people. however common sense has to be applied in anything you do in life. even if it hardly shows in the prem these days. he simply isn't worth the price it's that simple . i know a lot of fans like him i do myself but the delay is confirmation that we are unwilling to meet the asking price. i would guess that we are waiting to see what gylfi can do his end to force the deal thru. when they gave him assurances on him signing recent improved terms they will have told him, they would not stand in his way if a reasonable offer came in as we probs would have done with the belgian guy if he had been 1% more likely to sign an extension. all that being said swans have stood in his way and priced him out of a move to anywhere. so the ball is in his court,

Swansea will have a price to sell and that won't be the price in the media. Until someone bids that amount they will not let him go. It's the same situation as Barkley and lukaku.

I'd expect they want a bit of clarity on Barkley and other transfers (left sided defender) before upping their bid. If Ross stays then that gives us Barkley, Klaasen, Rooney and maybe Dowell who can play at number 10. Is it really worth blowing the rest of the summer budget on one player who we don't really need?

What is our budget? I know there are other costs associated with signings but if we look at incomings and outgoings we haven't actually spent a massive amount so I would expect Koeman and Walsh have some other targets bubbling under the radar.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But we still have best part of 50mill sitting in a safe from the stones sale. Lukaku sale 75mill +adds. We are still in profit from all signings made this summer. Plus money from Moshiri. Plus tv. Plus finishing 7th. If we wanted I'm sure we could spend a lot more money than we are letting on. Activate neymars release claus I say haha.

yeh rik-efc you are wrong in the sense that we have had 2 more high profile cash injections from usmanov (naming rites on training ground) and another from a banker who is a yank? altho he could be chinese would have to check on that . but everything else you said is right.
