We lost because we have the wrong manager in charge of our club once again . just because we won against Fulham doesn't make him the next Howard Kendall this start to the season has been terrible and it won't get any better no matter how many years we give him.

Very very true, it is amazing how many fickle fans got exited over one win against Fulham, they are grasping at straws.
Good honest post Skylark.

It is also amazing how many doom mongers write a manager off after a defeat as well.

Yes wrong tactics last night with 7 changes, cannot disagree with that, let’s say we play our same starting 11, how many would be saying why did we not give the likes of Lookman, Dowell and Baines a game, why did he not start with Bernard etc.

Had we played the same team and still lost then the discussion today would have been other players not
getting a chance.

This team will bounce back, Silva needs to look at the f a cup and go flat out with his strongest 11 and learn from this and past mistakes by himself and other managers with rotating in the cups.

I for one will not be writing Silva off just yet, but he needs to get it right in the f a cup, as for the league games, things are looking much better and with a few tweaks when our strongest 11 are available will see results take an upturn.

But too many are quick to write him off after a defeat.

I was there last night, seen us play better, seen us play worse, was hacked off with 7 changes, was hacked off with the two players you would expect to tuck a penalty away both failed, but that’s life.

Let’s see how our league games go leading up to Xmas and give the guy a bit of slack.

I will do what I did with RK. And give him till Xmas then.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion so unfortunately that includes doom-merchants like Skylark and Dark Clouds. I've no doubt if we'd won they'd have found something else to whinge about.

For those off us that remember Howard Kendall was close to the sack before a game in the league cup that changed us that season, however if it had been today he would not have even reached that game!

So your saying RM and RK should still be here wakka?

No skylark, but constantly changing every season gives no stability or progression, each new manager wants new players and we end up selling at a loss to move them on.
If Moshiri believes in Silva and Brands we have to bear with it and give them time. We still haven’t had an opportunity to see Mina and Gomes in the side yet which is also frustrating and must be more so for the manager, but it is becoming glaringly obvious we are devoid of the quality needed to break into the top 6!

And I am not a doom merchant BIG H I just don't think he is the right man for the job once again.

Agree with all that wakka but still think moshiri has been given the wrong advice since he came in and Silva is an other one unfortunately I hate to say.

Yes very true and I was calling for Kendall to go but Colin Harvey was called in by the chairman and that saved him. It was Kendall and Harvey together that did it as Clough and Taylor.
I was, however delighted when Kendall arrived as he had a record of success behind him, so took a long time for me to change on that.
I have only ever been against the appointment of two managers since the sixties, they are Martinez and this guy Silva as they are proven failures. I admit was not happy about Koeman as he had a record of only short term success.
I therefore do really trust my own judgement, it is beyond me how we ever employed this guy if you look at his stats he is a disaster waiting to happen. If we win the FA Cup I would be pleased but be sad that he got lucky and relegation would soon follow.
The thing is a lot of you do not want to here an honest viewpoint. In my sixties I do not dream I look at the facts sorry guys.

With the doom and gloom fans we’re getting now, we’re quickly becoming the club we used to hate. We can’t keep sacking managers and expecting success. They need time to build, have a few windows, get their players in and use a system that works. We’ve a new manager, new players, new DOF and with the World Cup a shorter preseason, Needs a fair amount time for me to build something and get it right. It took the reds a few seasons to get it right and it’s fickle to think we’ll get success overnight.

{Ed025's Note - i think fans are generally behind silva tron at least i hope they are, last night feelings got a bit heated because most seen the caribao cup as are best chance of success this season and the feeling was that we should have played our best side, i certainly did mate but now we move on..

i wasn't being funny there btw skylark it was a genuine question mate, its alright saying oh he was never right for us but no one knows until there at the club if its a good fit. i would have gone all out for marcelo gallardo myself but that's just my choice I no 98% of blues wouldn't want him, but silva is here and I will back him with everything I have, i love everton I dnt care who is in charge or who is playing the club is bigger than them all and I love her.

I would have kept Koeman I think he was not given enough time considering he had a nightmare with injuries and a hard start to the season. I also think Silva should be given at least a season I don't see us as relegation fodder so don't have any worries on that front. I don't know why but for some reason the last couple of season we have really struggled with injuries to defensive players early doors.

Are we really having this conversation after 7 or so games?

Smit666 we get this every season. If we don't start really well then the manager is to blame so get rid.

So Skylark is adamant Marco is the wrong choice - but has no idea who the right choice would have been. Very easy to criticise others when you don’t have an opinion.
And you say give him TIL Xmas? You for real? We have had years of poor buys, no strategy, dreadful football - and you want it solved in 4 mont (s?
Silva and Brands had an excellent summer clearing out deadwood and beginning to rebuild the squad. The buys they have made - Richarlison, Digne and Bernard all look like excellent buys - and the common theme was that they wanted to play for Silva.
As far as this season goes, we could easily have won at Wolves, Bournemouth and even Arsenal. At least for once the players look like they are enjoying playing football AND we are having a go at winning games - more shots at Arsenal than we had against the entire top 6 last season.

We are on the right path. It will take 2 / 3 TF windows to totally sort the squad into what he wants, with the right players for the type of football he wants to play.
Even Klippety took 2 years before it clicked and he didn’t have the same mess to start with.

So try looking on the positive side. Because if you put away the doom mongering and actually look closely, then things are already improving at a rate of knots. COYB.
