Funny how Sly sports news ran the lukaku to stay story but slybet cut his odds from 1/4 yesterday to 1/5 today to sign for everton (and yes I know how odds work - risk and all that) but clearly either punters don't trust them or they know something which they aren't telling us

There are stringent rules about professional footballers betting on the sport - and severe penalties for those caught out. Even more so, the penalties for those "persons" involved in match fixing.
I wonder how soon before betting on transfers, etc., is also investigated for the abuse of insider knowledge?
All those who claim to be itk - or claim to have been told by someone itk - might need to think twice in future. I doubt they will, as they clearly feel superior when gleefully imparting such "knowledge" and then crowing when it actually (on those rare occasions) proves to have been correct.

Cowpat I don't think the OP is talking about footballers betting on transfers. Its the conflict of interest that Sly Sports running a story and Slybet cutting odds, maybe enticing punters to lump on thinking its a cert.

I know that - I was just adding something from a different angle in response to an original post that had mentioned betting :-)
