Anybody out there remember the days of Harry Catterick (in the days when we could outbid anyone). We never announced who we were buying until the deal was done. Billy Bingham was the same - the first I knew about Latchford was buying the paper the morning after, Howard Kendal was similar (1st Spell).
Unlike some for whom the oxygen of publicity is needed Everton have always tried to do their business in an ethical way. I'm sure there is more positive news on the way.

I would like to hope we still conducted our transfers this way GSTB but in the day that the media is King I think any club would find it hard to hide/ conceal any business these days! one thing is for sure though mate, we are a class above the rest! IMWT COYB

{Ed025's Note - i would like to think so big mac..

No real agent factor in Harry's day.

Plus the fact that the Littlewoods money via John Moores meant that we could (and often did) outbid other clubs when it came to transfer dealings.
