I've put on here a few times over the location on the docks for the new stadium. It looks like this is going to be one of the locations mentioned and I hope it is the one selected.

It seems to be a prime location for both retail and restaurants as well as being on the iconic River Mersey.

I'm not sure about the other location and don't know the area well enough to say whether it is a good site but it would seem to me that it does not give the same benefits of being in the city centre.

Anyway, it is only the beginning and there are plenty of hurdles to jump but I am more hopeful now than at any time over a new stadium.

Just read that the mayor has hinted our new stadium would be used to try and and get the 2026 commonwealth games to Liverpool.

I think city centre stadium on the mersey would be the best for access for these events due rail links and all the hotels nearby in the city centre. Also it would look the best.

{Ed025's Note - that would work for me j..

They have already started some digging in croxteth don't know if it's for the new ground but work has already started there.

{Ed025's Note - thats for the ice cream man day...they are flattening the bumps so the drugs dont spill on the road.. :)

I have a feeling that the stadium will be part of a joint investment with LCC and that they will use that as a central part of the bid for the games - a bit like West Ham have done.
