A statement of intent by buying big, ie manolas, van diljk, seems we want good players on budget prices, RK will leave our club if we don't stump up, i do agree we need to be carefull with whom be buy, how many Evertonians are happy with what we have, are the eds happy, because i'm not, and I've been a fan for 50 years, good and bad

{Ed025's Note - its not just about throwing money around willy knilly howie, it has to be the right player who will suit the squad, we all know january is a bad time to buy and i think koeman will be given more funds but it has to be spent wisely mate..

Hi Howie I don't believe in your philosophy, i think R K is here for the duration, i too have been an Everton fan for 60yrs and I think RK is definitely the the man for the job with Mr Moshiri I think the club is in the safest and most confident hands in decades, only my opinion cheers mate, GuernseyBlue

I don't believe this.

Well as far as I'm concerned he can leave, Thanks for telling us. Did Koeman mention anything else when he confided in you?

When he contacts you again just remind him about the project he is on with the club and the fact we have spent the highest amount in this window so far.

Hmppfff and he calls himself a manager. Thanks for the insight.

What is impressing me is the way we are trying to bring in quality young players for our u23 squad. It makes me believe that RK is in this for the long haul. We already have good young talent coming into the team, so the building blocks are being put into place. I agree we do need one or two quality players to strengthen the first team, and I believe this will happen.
But remember RK said this is a project, and projects take time. We just need to be patient.

I like Koeman mate but the first whiff from Barcalona and he is gone like a bat out of hell. On another note I love the way the club is investing in quality young players there our future.

{Ed002's Note - Barcelona has identified a shortlist of potential managers and have two clear favourites - he is not on that list.}

I said when we appointed Koeman he is a very fortunate manager, he joined when we got investment, he also came when we have probably our best crop of youngsters for a long time, he will get money to spend, it will take time but he has everything in his favour, if he as good as we think he will be then everyone's a winner.

if he left for barca, then he must have done a brilliant job for the blues. gutted if that was the case. but then again we could attract a better class of manager than what we have been used to.

We can't just chuck money at players because of the FFP rules. We need a business structure that plans successive seasons with growth and vision. That includes: some investment in players, a new stadium, a youth policy that includes taking on staff, a manager with ambition, financial investment where permitted and an outward looking board who will investigate other ways of bringing in money and using the FFP rules to our advantage.

If you look at what has been happening, most of those boxes are ticked or are being planned. Yes Koeman may well run off to Barcelona as soon as they see him having success. tell me a manager that would not!

At that stage, we should have a plan for a succeeding manager to replace Koeman. Unsworth is already showing great potential with the U23's who last Sunday provided 2 1st team starters. We had our latest youngster come off the bench and score.

We beat a side that cost about 300 million to put together (4 nil). please tell me why we need to spend big all the time? Yes I would love Van Dyke in our defence. he is the best center back at the moment. we could have had him for I think 8 million 18 months ago?

If we were working with our plan then, perhaps we would have. Mr Martinez brought a load of ageing players in. We are now linked with Yoric Ravet of Young Boys, another Tim Cahill in my view, but with more skill and a shot like Peter Lorimer.

These are the players we can get in. The club is in a better position now than since Moyes left. let's hope it is in an even better position. It certainly feels like it to me.
