Few posts recently about Swansea taking the piss with 50mil valuation. This misses the point completely.

Swansea haven't valued him at 50mil based on how much other clubs have sold other players for. They've valued him at 50mil based on what he's worth to them. And considering without him they'd be in the championship by now, I think it's fair to say he's worth that much to the club.

It's now up to us, or Leicester, or anyone else interested, to decide if he's worth that much to us.

Agreed at, and I appreciate there is a media circus, but using words like bullied etc. not cricket if unfounded. that aside the fee is based on what they value him at. and any buyer will have to meet their valuation else not buy him.

Spot on mate, a lot of people don't grasp a player's worth to their club.

Absolutely spot on, price is irrelevant in today's market and I've noticed why all of a sudden more and more football fans are saying other clubs paying too much when this has been going on for years, I can't believe for the first time as an Everton fan my mates are saying we're paying over the odds or buying too many players. This is just a normal reaction, its because we're a threat to the usual clubs, and it shows, few years ago it was top 4, then when Man Utd weren't getting in it, then it was top 6 now all of a sudden Everton have power there saying it's top 7,
Look how much money they all through at it and none of them are any better than 5 or 6 years ago. My point is all these clubs have had millions of pounds of players that wer flops, I think we're spending wisely and looking at our squad are we really that far behind those other clubs.

Totally agree Truebluemetz imho we are spending very wisely so far. Pickford, Klaassen, Sandro, and Keane all under 23 with big futures. Packing the U23's with quality also shows that a long term strategy is in place rather than trying to win the league immediately by throwing big money at players who are already developed or in later (prime) years of their careers.

Wish every1 would stop going on about the money for siggurdson. If we get him we get him, if we don't we dont. let's just leave that to our club, they know a lot more than all of us put together. let's just do what fans are supposed to do an get behind whatever decision they make an support our beloved club. The next few years are going to be full of ups an downs but its promising to be building up to somethin special. I hope we could maybe win a trophy or 2 before we leave goodison an setlle in to our new home on the banks of the royal blue mersey. The signings made so far are exciting an basically give a new spine to the team an hopefully another couple should follow. What a time to be an evertonian an long may it continue.
