Bit harsh with the marking for EFC C- considering we have strengthened in most of the areas we where lacking and have a better squad than last season, with the exception of Lukaku and there was little chance he would have stayed.

Goal keeper for me Ed not Striker. Strikers just get the attention. What would you prefer a striker that scores every game or a keeper that keeps a clean sheet every game?

{Ed001's Note - good point to be fair, it is very specialised as well. Goalies are much cheaper though and there are lots spare as there are a lot of very good keepers who can't get into a line up because rotation doesn't tend to happen for keepers.}

Totally agree with you ed I know it would almost be impossible to replace a striker like lukaku for a team like Everton at this moment in time but we should of at least got in to types of strikers to replace him. I've said if we didn't get a striker we will struggle to get top 8 losing that many goals plus a lot of new players getting to know the club etc is difficult we should of bought the replacement before selling lukaku. We should of been the ideal club for a striker with great potential wanting to showcase it to the bigger clubs so hopefully in the next window we can expository this and get someone in.

Niasse is banging the goals in, Ronnie has changed his thoughts and recalled to the first team squad, got to be worth a go, if only we had registered the guy for the Europa league, could have been worth a run out, odds on he will play a part against Sunderland next week.

A striker was the most crucial area to cover, RK ne Rom represented 25 goals last year and although he hoped that would be spread across the squad we do not have that focal point up front!

{Ed025's Note - up until the last knockings of the window koeman thought giroud was in the bag wakka, his advisors had told everton that he would go to everton and at the last minute pulled out, there was very little time then to get a suitable replacement mate..

I understand that ed but surely we should have had a back up or even 2 given how important it was. Still gutted that we never got giroud though.

Ed025 Eggs in basket comes to mind! but as cropper says surely there was back up and we weren't waiting till the eleventh hour? Still now we have what we have and like many surely Niasse should be given an opportunity? shame they didn't register him foe Europa.
