If the rumours on Marco Silva being hired are true, I state here and now it will be yet another leap in the dark mistake. I predict that come Xmas time his head will be called for. Far to like Martinez. Because of some of the vitriol I have to state yet again, this is an opinion and not a personal attack.

{Ed025's Note - there will always be pluses and minus,s when hiring a new manager DFS it goes with the territory, not everyone will be happy whoever we appoint but we must get behind whoever it may be and with the influence of brands back them all the way, we cant go on replacing managers every season and need some stability within the club if we are to move forward imo mate..

For what it’s worth, I was not in the Koeman camp even before he came, was again not in Sams camp, however I think Silva will be a good choice, should he come.

Only time will tell but I am in the Silva camp and hope we manage to get the guy.

Well if he finishes 5th in his 1st season I'll be chuffed DFS.
Just about everyone linked with us will be a risk. We've just got to get on board and enjoy the ride.

I'd be happy with Silva. Apparently he is very meticulous with his set up and analysis of the opponent he is facing. He is an attacking, passing football based coach but also a good disciplinarian in defense. His record at Watford was very good til his head was turned by our interest which would normally worry me, but it would be Brands job to keep that from happening, which I believe he could do and keep Silva concentrated on the Everton project of building us into the team we all want to be cheering for. A team competing for honours.

Negativity was fair when we're watchin 'Allerdyces' version of Everton.
But Silva hasn't even been announced yet, give him a chance. I'll be right behind him and I suggest every other blue is otherwise he's fighting a losing battle before he's started.

There’s a lot of negativity surrounding the possible Silva appointment. I just hope, that should he become manager, we give him a chance. I gave chippy a chance, but he ended up being appalling. I hope we don’t hear boos at half time when we aren’t winning our first game 3-0.

Enough now DFS. You've made your views on Silva perfectly clear several times now.

How we expect to attract any manager when all we do is slag anybody off associated with the position is beyond me.

Can we all just wait until a decision is made (hopefully by people with more information / knowledge than us) and then get behind them 100 %.

It's easy to predict accurately that the guy will be or under pressure by Christmas if you're doing it already before he's even been appointed! Silva is not like Martinez; he cares about defensive discipline. He's a very good coach. He's managed 5 clubs and every one of them, including Hull and Watford, were higher up the table when he left than when he took over. So Hull were relegated? So were Newcastle under Benitez. Good managers who take jobs with poor teams are going to have low win percentages and they won't win trophies. The issue with Silva isn't whether he will improve us; it's that he doesn't stay anywhere for very long. Get behind him - IF he's even appointed!

I'm not for Silva but if he is appointed I'll give him my whole support like I do for every manager that comes. Regardless whether I like him to come or not. Every manager that comes deserves a proper chance. Innocent till proven guilty and all that.

Totally agree with Ed025. We need stability and a manager that will get a run of seasons together. Silva just might be the one to do that. Regardless of his history with not staying long with other clubs.

expecting a lot their smit, if he even finished seventh but cemented it like we did under koeman for his first year I'd take that.
