Great news about Jimmy Mac being one match away from full fitness, will be like a new signing bring it on.

Good that all the guys could get a run out Mina, Gomes and Jimmy Mac going to be strength in depth soon quite a headache for Silva to have but a positive one.

Be a good one for the derby if he's up to speed by then.

Good to have experienced players on the bench and in reserve rather than youngsters. I know it's great to give the kids a chance but often in the past few seasons they have not been ready.

I agree with all of that but would add that the kids are starting to show improvement. Last season young Kenny was caught out many times. As was Holgate. This season both have still shown a lack of maturity at times but have improved no end. As for Davies, he goes from strength to strength. Calvert Lewin is also improving. We also have Lookman to think about and give all of these another season or two and we have some great potential.

As you say degsy mate the younger players do need another season or two to gain more experience before going into the first team, we saw that this year they are all still learning.

Yes GB but now you can see their development coming on. I cannot rate Davies any higher. He is a workhorse in the way of Peter Reid, Steve McMahon (who we let go way too soon) , Alan Ball and others who had great engines. Yes his passing is sometimes astray and his confidence was shot last season. but he is still only 20. I was still in nappies at that age! I suspect he will attract loads of interest from other clubs.

Agree. Players mature at different times and Davies all be it 20 still looks like a teenager. With a good coach he will be a very good player (no offence Barkley)

I suspect Barkley will also come good. although he hissed a lot of Blues off. He is still only 24 and when you think he has another say 8 years of playing in him. wow if he hadnt have suffered the injuries that held him back, who knows where he would be now? Give him a season or two without major injuries and a run of games and see what happens. I mentioned Peter Reid earlier in a post and will say something else about him. he was written off after a succession of bad injuries but Howard Kendall risked buying him and the rest is history.
