New stadium set to be 52k with the possibility of rising to 62k in time if demand is met.

Personally I think a more realistic target should have been 55k with the option to expand to 62k.

Goodison is a sell out every home game with 10,000 on the waiting list, throw into account a brand new stadium demand is going to be high and that is not taking into account tourists visiting and a new fan base.

All good and well starting at 52k but cannot help thinking we have missed a big opportunity here.

I think they've pitched it about right personally. An extra 12,000 seats is significant and the option for an extra 10,000 is ideal if we consistently prove the demand is there! Would much rather that than going the other way with an overly ambitious size and atmosphere / image being affected by empty seats soon after we move in!

Totally agree Toffeewavey mate get it full every home game wow what an atmosphere far better than having thousands of seats empty,52-000 to start and the possibility to increase it is far more realistic.

Brand new stadium, who cares if it's 52,000 or 55,000, if it's full and bouncing with the blue army, good times will be had by us all, hope everyone has a blue Christmas and happy New year ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️.

It would be interesting to know how many of them are corporate as that is where the money is.

Nev the 10 thousand on the waiting list will be people at the match mate there the ones making it a sell out every week. say we have 25 thousand season tickets now (that might be way out i dnt no) the sell 18/19 thousand tickets that 19 will include the ten thousand who want season tickets mate. i get what your saying but i think 52k is plenty for now, let's sell that out for 5 years straight then say yea we need to expand it.

A number of years ago I went on the Goodison tour, the guide was showing us the private boxes and told us Phil Neville had one and Tim Cahill had one at a cost of £40,000 plus a year for each one (we have approximately 8 in total) , and corporate meals match day experience brought in £200,000 a game, she then went on to say Corporate entertainment at the emirates brought in £2,000,000 per game. Think of the years behind we have been money wise, god bless Bill for finding mr Moshiri, the right sort of buyer with the contacts, sponsorship deals etc that’s what will let get us where we want to be, generated finance with fair play rules etc, corporate might be an ugly word but it brings the money in. Look how dead the London stadium is, we need to be close to the pitch, no restricted views and intimidating, I am sure the the design team and the board have worked out exactly what seating capacity needs to be and what growth we can realistically expect.
We’re moving in the right direction both on and off the pitch we’re just a number of years behind the others, but I believe we are now a lot closer and closing fast.
