Putting the manager issue to one side for the moment. Has anyone thought that maybe the main proble we have is with the players themselves.
I don't just mean the first team either, but all the other players we have who are still either attached to the club, and are out on loan, and those just sitting on there back sides taking a wage.
It can't help team unity having these players hanging around the club, returning from loans etc.
So will the biggest challenge this summer be getting these players out of the club?
Thus allowing the manager to bring in and work with the squad he wants.
Just a thought.

There's: Ashley Williams, Kevin Miraiias, Oumar Niasse, Muhamed Besic, Morgan Schneiderlin, Cuzco Martina, Sandro Ramirez, Yannick Bolasie, Nikola Vlasic, Luke Garbutt and probably one or two I have missed.

Definitely. This summer will hopefully see plenty of departures, especially to aid player recruitment. There have been too many poor purchases from the previous DoF that just aren’t good enough to make us better. Some have already gone but others are still here.

{Ed025's Note - bloody loads of them ace as woburn has just pointed out..

To get them we paid over the top then there is wages and the same for Managers. To get the players out I reckon we will have to take a hit. What a mess.

It's no coincidence that under Martinez we scored but let loads in. Under Koeman eventually we conceded loads and scored a couple. Under Allardyce we conceded a fair few and scored very few.
There is one common denominator, the players. Yes we have bought new ones but we still have a backbone of old managers players and still no striker.
You have to question whether Keane, Siggy, Coleman (since the injury) Walcott, Tosun and DCL would get in at Leicester, Wolves or Arsenal, because if were aiming for top 6 or 7 we need players who would.
I'm not sure many if any would.

Who at the club allowed so many players to be bought? we seem to have a lot of players on the books and the squad is still not balanced FM is here for the business side of things so who else at the club let all these players in? Wonder if any of the eds could shine a bit of light . Not looking to put the blame on just one person but how can such a huge mistake have been made.

Has she been putting bromide in the tea again? No wonder they can't get motivated during the game :-)

The blame lies squarely with Walsh and therefore indirectly with the Board for appointing a scout as a DoF. Absolute madness that appointment with consequences that will take years to rectify.

Of the players Woburn listed Vlasic is the only one I would consider keeping (and I really mean consider) , the rest need to be offloaded sharpish. The challenge will be why would they leave when nobody else will pay them anywhere near what we are, so we're likely to be stuck with the majority until the end of their contracts.

They wanted Walsh but the only way he would come was as DoF, as you say it was a huge error. We can only guess but whoever it is giving advice to Mr Moshri has a lot to answer for. It has been error after error, as an article I read says we have steadily become worse instead of progressing. I would not hesitate to suggest that in terms of football progression is behind where it was when Moyes left.

{Ed002's Note - Walsh was not appointed on the advice of the same person who has been advising Mr Moshiri.}
