Not a direct EFC rumour, but connected to previous posts relating to Red Bull.
The tabloids are reporting that Red Bull may now be making a 60 million bid to take control at Leeds Utd, so it doesn't look like they want us.

It would have cost them a fair penny more than 60 mill to buy efc. Part of our problem when any prospective buyer is looking at english clubs to take over. Stadium doesn't help our cause either, but the buyer wants to buy a club cheap and invest their money to make the team better, with efc already a partially well set up organisation with good players to attribute towards the value of the club, it's difficult for us to be sold to prospective buyers, particularly when the sellers (kenwright and the other shareholders on the board) want a return on their investment. Added to this our chairman wanting the right buyer to purchase us, and already being a shrewd person not wanting to take much risk on the sale due to the club he owns is the club he supports. With this in mind, until we have a nice new stadium with a good source of income, we will always be overlooked by the buyers.

Do you think we should be worried about interest in Mccarthy or is it just the tabloids stirring it up?
Personally I think James and Roberto get on well.
I just hope someone doesn't come in late on with a massive offer and we don't have time to replace especially with Ross out for a while.

Duscan Tadic looks set to sign for Southampton so being reported this evening.
Its looking more and more like that any business we are trying to do is really cloak and dagger or that we are just being priced out of market given that its a world cup year.

Just looking at the tables. 3 to 4 wins on bounce and we will wonder what the fuss was all about however the problem is where the 1st one is going to come from.
New players will bring desire and hunger.
England internationals or not if there is a better performing player i.e. garbutt they get picked.
Who is available to bring in to change things?

Have you been watching this lot? They don't have it in them to win three to four games on the trot. The way they are going we will be cheering draws.

Nah, I'm not going to bother. Some people really do have blinkers on.
3.) No blinkers troops just saying how things can change around. look at Newcastle and Pardew early doors.
Turned loss after loss into 6 wins on trot I think. that's 18 points. that's takes us to 39 points.
Look I am just putting a different slant on things. We can point finger at Roberto but these are professionals. They are same players as last year. Its a team effort but for me we have lost desire and the gusto. We need more go forward through middle and our players need to take responsibility.
So all I will say is come on Everton wake up. find the passion and desire that is missing. I think the stats have shown we have made the least amount of tackles in Prem league.

Well ladies and gents.
I was hoping for a happy start to the new year for our beloved Everton but unfortunately not to be.
I think Kenright now has a big choice to make.
1. Get rid of Roberto and find a new battle hardened manager or
2. Back him financially this window and strengthen with 4-5 new players and off load dead wood.
Jan is not a good time to buy but it has to be done now. As to what's available and what price is another matter.
Couple of wins changes things but we look dead in water at mo and martinez face says it all.

Massive disaffection creeping into support now. We have lost our way, lost our fizz and pow! Talk of players leaving and Roberto not quite knowing how to change things at mo.
Barkley has the ability to be great. but he needs to stop chewing his gum like a cow chews its cud!
We really do need a run of wins now like geordies did.
Time to wise up. unfortunately january buys a must please.

Hi all
I can understand why Martinez defends his players openly to the media, however it is starting to hit home that possession football is not always the answer and its about what u do with it!
We missed Jimmy mac yesterday. Our back four were exposed at times and our passing skills from the back is slow and ponderous which allows teams two options
1. Sit and squeeze or
2. Push up and press
Jags and distin didn't have a good day yesterday and spyds did a number on coleman and baines.
Ross Barkley needs to.start picking his head up. This kid could be a world beater but at present his performances are doing little to give me faith that he is the answer.
Tactically we need plan b and plan c. Romelu was given no service at all yesterday and I did feel sorry for him. We are quick to criticise him but yesterday we looked slow and couldn't really work out how to break down spurs.
{Ed025's Note - i believe thats a good summary of where we are at AW..
1.) Totally agree.
2.) The main problem with our possession football is that far too much of is played along the back 4. Then we move it forward 10 yards and pass it accross the pitch again then wonder why the opposition have 8 or 9 men between us and the goal, need to speed it up and if some of these players can't either change the system or the personnel

Really happy with that performance. Everyone played well. I though Rom looked hungry and his touch seems to be improving quietly.
All we need now is Hibbo to score!!
Lets hope we can transfer this into Prem league form.

Hi Ed. what's the latest coming out of Goodison? Is Roberto keeping his cards close to his chest?
Uncle Bill has chirped up about tying down the younger players and that he feels Roberto is going to bring good times back to Goodison.
I just hope that last season was not a one off and a false dawn.
3 more quality signings and I will be made up, then I think we could upset the apple cart. Pace and skill all the way!

More so because he was driving force behind kirkby development and his connections in business world. that's all. It wasn't about his money more how much he is involved these days.

It is evident that Roberto wants to win Europe. At present we are still sat pretty in prem league without hitting any consistent form.
Once this happens a surge up the league will occur and it will be all about keeping the momentum going. I think we may add one or two in January, but we do still have injuries and this isn't helping.
Rom is still young and I thought against Lille he showed glimpses of how his game is improving. Eto will definiately help him.
Ross B still recovering and will find form so at present things aren't so bad but we can do better. Grade - B.
If Rom genuinely wanted to sign he would of done so. He clearly doesn't want to so let's move on. Still plenty of quality strikers out there.

I just hope we r not being priced out of market behind scenes.
Rumours surfaced again that spuds have bid 20mil for lukaku but chelsea want more.
I hope that Roberto isn't going for average and that we have five big signings.
