Ed do you think we will have to sell any of are best players this year for non footballing reasons?

Am8

{Ed025's Note - no Am8, we do actually have money, its getting the buggers to spend it thats the hard bit mate..

1.) 28 Jun 2015 16:44:59
with coleman supporting utd when younger do you expect him to leave

{Ed025's Note - if he does go bretto...it will be for the cold hard cash mate..after all he only gets £4m a year from us..its a wonder how he makes ends meet..

2.) 28 Jun 2015 17:28:27
Coleman wore a UTD shirt in a pic, in IRELAND. It does not mean he supports them, my cousin has pictures of his son in a Leeds 2001-02 shirt and he is Irish, yet supports Liverpool. Coleman has been poor all last season.

3.) 28 Jun 2015 17:37:00
Is it not more likely he would go to get champions league football and the chance of trophies? You couldn't really blame him for wanting to push himself in bigger games surely?

4.) 28 Jun 2015 18:28:05
to be fair I could see a southampton situation happening with rom kevin and seamus all leaving

5.) 28 Jun 2015 21:10:31
sorry Swan Coleman has not been poor all season

6.) 28 Jun 2015 21:44:15
Yes I could actually. The main issue being the same one your fans use for De Gea going to Real. Your excuse is personally begging him 'don't go there David, their fans will nor appreciate you and will be on your back instantly'. Well yeah, it would be the same with Coleman. Because his name is not Colemaninho Dos Santos JR, you're fans, like McCarthy will assume he is terrible. Also, if UTD are such a certainty for trophies and success in the Champions League, it is a wonder why De Gea wants to leave. You could use the excuse as to be with his familiy. But when we use the excuse of Colemans mates being here and him being appreciated, you call that, 'sad' and 'pathetic'. Oh the irony, oh the irony. The reality is if Coleman wants to leave (which I doubt) then he is more than welcome too. Just as long as he doesn't do a Davey Moyes which again I doubt. What I don't get is the 'oh he wants to test himself against the best and win stuff' when, if you don't know mate, he is still an Everton player. Until he joins UTD and holds up that shirt. I don't think your fans can really decide what it is he is leaving for or why and what is best. When it is a done deal then by all means, be happy, but please do not start all the rubbish about what he wants. I expect him to stay and if not, good luck to him. He very may well do a De Gea and leave to win trophies but hang on a minute, De Gea has not gone yet (like Coleman) so why is Coleman leaving for trophies but De Gea is leaving for money or whatever. Incredible.

7.) 29 Jun 2015 01:38:48
Swan,

That was a very interesting rant mate, think you need to calm down, Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world, the play in de gea's home town and that's where his partner lives, they are going to be challenging for trophies so it is not a step down for him in any way and no united fans would blame de gea for leaving, he's done his time for us.

You know who a lot of united fans think is the best player ever to play for the club, not ronaldo or anyone with a fancy name but george best, irish lad who all united fans appreciated and thought was great. You are thinking of maybe chelsea when you are talking about only appreciating foreign players, giggs, scholes, Neville, beckham, not a brazilian name amongst them but heroes at Old Trafford. So your point isn't really valid.

There is no 'guarantee' that he would sign for united and get success, but you must admit yourself if he signed for united there would be a better chance of him winning trophies, that's not saying anything that people don't know is true, check with the bookmakers, there is a good chance he would play champions league football for the majority of his time with us and top players want to push themselves in that competition.

I'm not saying for a second we are signing coleman, I've no idea myself whether he wants to come to us, but if he did you would struggle to argue with the points I've just made I think.

8.) 29 Jun 2015 02:29:59
Don't know why fans get so hung up on players maybe (because the press says) leaving us, for the most part no players have really forced themselves out of everton over the last ten years but as much as it may erm some poeple were are not a big club anymore, plain and simple money talks.

We may have a solid history but it counts for nothing the players of today won't remember us winning anything of any note and let's face 1 fa cup in 25 years and no champions league at all we're not a big club and can't offer big wages, I doubt uefa asked Man City to see there history when they made the champions league a few years ago but now there futures been sorted which is all that matters. Poeple leave better teams than us for different clubs it's the reality of the game.

9.) 29 Jun 2015 08:17:48
Joleon Lescott only player I can think of that has mikedblue?

10.) 29 Jun 2015 09:10:55
Mike,

You are right mate and you should be proud of the little family that you have at Everton, players seem to be extremely happy playing for you and not many want to leave, it is good to see and one of the reasons why I respect Everton a lot.

If a player did want to leave it would be for the reasons I mentioned (CL football / chance of trophies) which you can't really blame a player for wanting in his career.

11.) 29 Jun 2015 16:26:52
At the end of the day, Coleman is only going to leave if the club want him to. The club will only want to if he asks to leave and united offer us a fair amount (janusaj on loan plus at least 20 if not 25 million). We are in a good position as we don't need to sell him.

12.) 29 Jun 2015 17:40:21
GDS2. Don't be so deluded. Players move for money and they use the CL as an excuse for this. That's all they are interested in MONEY.

{Ed025's Note - no argument from me woburn mate..

13.) 29 Jun 2015 17:40:50
GDS2,Pray tell me how a club, any club, is supposed to progress by allowing it's players to leave to play C.L. football, when that's exactly what all clubs and I mean all EPL clubs aspire to? I honestly doubt whether Everton will do business with MU other than try to borrow Zanuzaj or Wilson. The chances of anyone getting Coleman I would think are zero, the same goes for Stones.

14.) 29 Jun 2015 19:06:22
Mike,

The bookies think differently mate.

I agree with you but if you aren't going to be winning trophies in the near future then players have a decision to make.

Woburn,

If it makes you happy then yes all players are money grabbers and that's all they are bothered about. I'm sure some of them are, but others will be interested in playing for the top teams and leaving a legacy by winning trophies. If coleman is a money grabber I've no idea I don't know him personally, but in life if someone offers to double your wages and offered you the chance of success you would snap their hand off and you would be silly not to.

{Ed025's Note - thats a fair point GDS..

15.) 29 Jun 2015 22:26:40
Apart from the fact you can't guarantee them success. Your actually going to lose your best player. A player who saved you 10-12 points last season. But hey keep spending, you can only ut 11 on the pitch at one time, and you ain't got the best 11 mate.

16.) 29 Jun 2015 23:26:52
Woburn,

It is impossible to have a discussion when all you do is reply with bitter comments trying to put united down, I haven't done that about your club so don't do it about mine, then we can have a sensible discussion.

17.) 30 Jun 2015 12:54:38
how is it bitter?. take a look in the mirror mate. if you think the truth is bitter then why are you on here? if all you want us to do is go 'GGMU (whatever that means)', 'love Utd me' 'Utd are the best, proper hate Everton, i'm a Utd fan now' then what is bitter about what he said?. if Woburn saying the truth is bitter, what about your 'truth' that Coleman would be better off at Utd? that is not bitter? just the honest truth from the bottom of your heart?.

18.) 01 Jul 2015 08:27:33
Oh my god you are an odd man swan, I never said any of them things, you are utterly deluded.

Let's be real Rm is going nowhere. He has steadied the ship and will feel he deserves another go at it next year . He has been a bit of a tinker man this year not knowing his best formation or how to get the best out of his players and at times has been found wanting .The eleven who finished the game and the formation they were playing is what most fans have been crying out for all season expect that to be our first team next year with only squad players coming in the summer .Bk will defo stand by his man so let's hope he has learnt plenty this season .

Am8

{Ed025's Note - feels that way to me as well AM8..

1.) 27 Apr 2015 08:44:08
I have said this all along, his get out was that the EL affected us like many other clubs have found in the past.
It highlights we do not have the strength in depth for long European campaigns, however we will be stronger because of the experience this year.

2.) 28 Apr 2015 02:18:34
Regreat, you are almost certainly correct, mr, I will not sacrifice my princapals, has now groud out enought points to save his job, I go into next season with all the hope in the world that I am wrong, but this mans unwillingness to recognise his own mistakes, offers little in the way of a good season.

3.) 29 Apr 2015 13:17:39
The Name of this lesson Roberto has been ''less is more''

The less complicated is often better understood and appreciated.

= The more football matches won :)

Everton 3-0 Man U. Qed ;)

4.) 29 Apr 2015 20:01:30
Give him until November. I do agree the Team that finished (if you are talking about Lennon on the right and Mirallas on the left) looks the real deal but doesn't it depend on Mirallas and Lukaku for that matter staying. We will also have to see how Barry performs in the close season but as long as all he has to do is sit in front of the back four like he has been doing!!! Sorry for rambling but just one more thing, Cleverly Nooooooooooooooo!!!

Any suggestions for the team to start on sat IMO. Howard Coleman stones jags Baines McCarthy Barry cleverly Mirrales osman lukaku .Think he will play osman on the left Barclay to be on the bench crossing everything I've got already as we must get off to a good start coyb.

Am8

1.) 05 Aug 2015 14:26:38
We need Barry out of the side. We play better and with more penetration without him. With wingers injured it makes it difficult to get the balance right. I'd try this: Howard - Coleman, Stones, Jags, Baines - McCarthy, Barkley - Mirallas, Cleverly, Oviedo - Lukaku

2.) 05 Aug 2015 14:26:52
Am8 it will be same team as last year, same style of play, same results and same fans going "why did he not do that". I'm going for a draw, I think Watford will have more desire and we are very shaky on corners / freekicks.

3.) 05 Aug 2015 14:38:26
As close to the Man U home game line up last season and as motivated

02 Aug 2015 21:28:48
After going the game today it made me realise how important lukaku will be for us this season because no one else in the current squad looks capable of scoring regularly .It does not help that Rm has shown he has learnt nothing last year as his tactics do not involve getting bodies into the box he overloads in defensive mids which ultimately leaves the cf isolated and easy to mark . Lukaku will have to battle on his own for goals and the lad is capable of doing so in a team that's not set up to his strengths but if he gets an injury then I fear for us.We struggled last year and looking at us today I expect exactly the same this year we need to do something in the transfer market a forward and a creative mid are essential as the squad looks paper thin. Let's hope the sight of stones and Mirrales hobbling of is just niggles as were going to need both of them I don't think he can sell any first team pros as the amount of youngsters been brought into the first team shows how short we are.Rm needs to find a better system and build the team to suit lukaku getting the ball up to him quickly and supporting him in the box.Expect a 7th to 12th place finish mainly down to good first eleven but weak squad wich at times wil cost us.

Am8

{Ed025's Note - cracking post that AM8, my feelings exactly mate..

1.) 02 Aug 2015 22:13:26
I don't see the reason for 2 DM's when we supposedly have such a good defence. I'd play 4-1-3-2, and give rom some support next to him instead of behind him. Even shot either barkley, naisy or mirallas along side, just help support rom.he can't control a ball but the other 3 can.

{Ed025's Note - i like naisy in the hole myself dentie..

2.) 03 Aug 2015 08:58:31
Ahh those were the days if only we could get back to it,we had a team and a manager who were proud to wear the blue jersey, GuernseyBlue

08 Jul 2015 23:46:34
Ed I seen a article the other day saying the city of liverpool is considering biding for the commonwealth games do you think if this were to happen we would have a chance to benefit in the same way city and west ham have with getting a great deal on a new stadium? Or do you think the council would want the reds women's team playing there before us .When you look at what that stadium has done for city it's unreal they are currently looking at spending in the region of 150 mil all straight cash deals on Pogba Sterling and Delph in this transfer window while we as a club are up for sale for the same figure .This level of investment only came about due to that stadium and with in the next two years expect West ham to be sold for big money aswell .These investors are getting new state of the art facility's for knock down prices while Bk wants big money for a ground that's ancient a training ground leese and the current squad the squad being the only thing of any value I don't know if we still own Bellfield or what happend with the money if we did sell it but for the time being if we are to rub shoulders with the top clubs again we best start trying to back the city's bid for these games.

Am8

{Ed001's Note - the city would want it to go to who brings in the most revenue. No woman's team is going to do that. If it happened, it is likely Everton would be the team to benefit, as Liverpool would be able to benefit from the improved infrastructure of the area around Anfield to increase capacity there.}

1.) 09 Jul 2015 08:17:48
we could only bid for the 2026 as the other two are now closed, I would happily wait that long for a new stadium, just keep duct taping the old lady together for 11 years

03 Jul 2015 09:11:55
Ed what is it with other clubs valuations of our players .They must no something we don't as no matter how long players have on contracts it seems 15 mil will get all our best players Coleman stones McCarthy these alledged bids will only buy one leg so if any of them want the other leg they better get serious .The cheek of spurs is beyond belief think they can give us a third choice winger and a donkey that carnt get near the team for are most influential midfielder they must think we are in a bad way.The fact they paid 30 mil for a Argi no one had heard of who was crap but think they can palm us of with deadwood is a insult to our club .Meanwhile over at united they really are taking the piss there sides are already hurting at us taking there worst player of the books that they are going to try and take one of the best attacking full backs in world football for 15 mil while also trying to negotiate there second worst player into the deal.Having paid 30mil for shaw who is average at best (this kid played half a season but still could not go with the u21 squad due to fatigue joke)they must think we are muppets .We do not need Evans and apparently don't need the money but teams still think they can come in with stupid bids and be in with a shout of getting the player we must not sell are best players and if the player wants to go we must start the bids at around the 25 mil mark

Am8

{Ed002's Note - Everton has to agree to any offers as well. If Everton want more they need to negotiate.}

1.) 03 Jul 2015 10:22:53
It is annoying to rad these Am8 but the reality is this

It's lazy paper talk, and we haven't actually received any bids. So it's all tosh mate.

Our problem is we can't break the champions league closed shop but we have players who are easily at that level. So the media need to sell them for us. Aren't they considerate.

You are right when you say we don't have to sell as we are good financially. So even if bids come in they would have to be difficult to turn down before we consider them. And by that I mean over £30 million in Coleman and McCarthys case and over £40 million in the case of Stones and Lukaku

We Are Everton
We Don't Sell Cheap

2.) 03 Jul 2015 10:43:45
Am8 its paper talk and rumors don't get worked up about speculation there's no point. You can start to worry when an official bid is made mate until then sit back and laugh at the ridiculousness of one eyed journos that just don't have a clue about being a blue.

14 Jun 2015 13:16:46
We must not sell any of are prize assets this year any offers for stones(united) McCarthy (arsenal)Barclay(city) must be dealt with these vultures are circling and we must be strong .We need to improve the terms McCarthy is on as it is an insult to the lad that bit part players are earning more as when fit he plays.the player and his agent wil no this so the club must sort it out or he will be off .Stones and Barclay have both had up and down seasons but both are more than capable of pushing on this year and increasing there value from were it is now same could be said for Lukaku .There is no reson to sell any of these with the new Tv money we should not be forced to sell any first team players.I do expect to see some players leave but let's make sure we keep are best ones.

Am8

1.) 14 Jun 2015 14:56:40
Clubs don't hold the power these days over players, so not selling isn't the same as a player wanting out, which is more the case, generally down the vile agents that suck the life out of clubs

2.) 14 Jun 2015 20:11:26
None of them want to leave. We aren't struggling to balance the books. So I can't see them leaving this summer tbh.

I just don't see stones going this year the club has said we don't have to sell. The player has signed a five year deal and said he is happy . If as expected he pushes on and gets his place in the national team he will play on the big stage next year and his value could soar .Swan is right mouriniho is trying to get a head start on everyone else but if he thinks he can get the most exciting English center half in a decade for under 35 mil he is having a laugh .He himself set the bar for the value of the modern day defender when he sold that joke Luiz for 50 mil so let's get real Jose.IMO we must keep hold as long as we can aswell as all are other young players it's best for them all to stay and try and progress together this season hopefully to the clubs benefit .

If sterling is rated at 49 mil then stones has got to be around the 40 mil bracket .Thiis is typical mouriniho tactics gets the captain to rate the lad publicly then throws a low bid in to try and unsettle the player will then try an d throw in a few squad players in to the deal and then ultimately pay the price .When Jose has his eye on you he will do whatever it takes to get him he sees stones at the back for them as there future and even if we do resist this year it will only be a matter of time before there back cheque book in hand .I hope we can keep him as he is starting to look the real deal but if he does go it has to be major money to take him .

This is a big season for Ross and IMO he will play it at Everton were he belongs.First of all the lad himself knows he must improve his decision making when running at pace in the final third he has to be better. when he keeps the ball moving and not needlessly overplays he shows his quality. Iam still not convinced Rm knows the lads best position .He deserves the backing of the fans and of his manager he needs a good pre season get himself in good shape know the managers tactics .Then it's down to Rm to show his trust in him and start him first 10 games at least if you want him to mature on the pitch he has to play if the lad doesn't cut it this year he never will .

Think Gibson is a good player but like sturridge his transfer value will never be very high .He should be a 10 mil player but his injuries mean he never plays a full season so is only probably worth 2 or 3 mil .I would keep him because when he does play he has an affect on the team he's a good squad player and seems a good lad in the dressing room .
