Seen a lot of rumours that we could get Deulofeu for a low fee, does this mean that any buy back clause would also be very low?

Blue D

{Ed025's Note - not really D..

Ed 002 are teams still interested in barkley? And would we be willing to let him go for a price?

Blue D

{Ed002's Note - Everton will not want to sell Ross Barkley just yet but there is firm interest from Manchester City - the kid needs to think carefully about his future befor looking to move just yet.}

Well it's looking increasingly likely that the stadium rumours are true and I am delighted if it is! But I really really hope we have the stands really close to the pitch so that there is an amazing atmosphere! No running track etc!

Hi ed, could you or someone else on here explain to MD how work permits work? And why are some people able to obtain them with relative ease and others won't be granted? Thank in advance to all that help. COYB

Blue D

{Ed002's Note - The situation with work permits is that a player will be granted one if (a) he has played 75% of games at full international level for two years for a country ranked reasonably high up by FIFA (top 75), or (b) if an exemption is applied for and granted under the "exceptional talent" provisions. For example, if a case is made to the authorities that a young South American is a demonstrable talent and clearly one for the future, it should be reasonably easy to have an exemption granted. If however, a pretty much run of the mill or average player was being bought and it was clear they are not appreciably better than those which could be found locally, or are being bought because they are cheap, then it will be much more difficult to obtain a work permit. The downside of the system in the UK is that the "bigger" English clubs can cherry pick the decent talent available and can obtain exemptions, and the rest of the players are assumed not to be talented enough for an exemption (as Chelsea or Manchester United etc. don't want them) and therefore obtaining the exemption is much tougher. Some players can obtain work permits through their parents or grand parents being English.}

1.) Ahh okay I get you now! Thanks ed!

Question for end 002 (or any other eds that may know) with a buy back clause if the team wanting to bring the player back decided to use it, would the player in question have to also agree to go back? Or if he was adamant he wanted to stay would he stay? Thanks

Blue D

{Ed001's Note - the player would have final say, it just sets a price really.}

Does look likely that cleverly will sign, I hope that everyone gets behind him, to me he seems a bit like Osman and could be a good replacement for him, I share the feeling of many blues that he's not the best signing but I for one will get behind him and any other player that is brought in this summer, at worst we won't be surprised by him. I also feel a new CB, ST and creative mid are imperative ifvwe are to compete in the top half again. I know Howard is wanted out by a lot of fans but he is our only player who brings in substantial merchandise from sales with the whole of America worshipping him and although we do need a new GK I don't feel like selling him would be the best thing to do in terms of the financial side of our club and also why I believe he won't be sold, neither will Barkley unless we get a ridiculous offer, I think garbutt will go but that's on him. Lukaku I think will stay but if not then we will get upwards of 30million for him and I'd like to think that bobby has people in mind if he does leave, maybe someone like bacca would be very nice! People seem to get very frustrated during these times because we've been linked with Johnny Evans and other such players and get angry with the board, everyone just needs to relax and let bobby do his thing, see where we are at the end of the window and judge the team after 10 games. Finally if I were you, before saying how much you don't want cleverly here for the next 5 years take a look at his bird!

keep him for the usa merchandise?. that is genius. we should sell mccarthy and get foo-king-bad for the korean sales.

2.) 04 Jun 2015 18:13:32
How about Ivor Noidea for the Russian vote?

3.) 05 Jun 2015 04:55:53
We get nothing from merchandise sales abroad were tied in to pish poor deal that has us on a set fee, I respect Howard but when your times up then it's dog eat dog

I really reccommed henry winters interview with Bobby on the guardian website, anyone doubting him give it a read

Blue D

1.) 07 Mar 2015 20:10:27
He talks a great game. Unfortunately he can't bloody win a real one to save his life.

2.) 07 Mar 2015 20:21:26
He can talk the talk as impressively as anyone.
He can be as principled and determined to deliver "good" football as much as anyone.
He can believe in his players as much as anyone and sincerely want them to enjoy playing.
He can cite the DNA of the club as much as anyone and involve club-loyalists like Royle, Ferguson, Unsworth, Sheedy, etc., and not be afraid of speaking to other legends like Howard Kendall.
BUT -
Premier League football is about results and he's just not getting them this season.
Thank goodness that three clubs - QPR, Burnley and Leicester City - look like having worse results than us and will be our lifeline to safety, with us finishing 17th on an abysmally low points total this season.
Ho hum.
:-(

3.) 07 Mar 2015 21:16:55
This would be the same interview where he claims we do not over pass the ball and in fact he insists it is impossible to do so, and that Tim Howard is having a "strong Season" and is why he replaced Robles as soon as fit again? Yeah it was phenomenal.

It is nothing more than the usual RM bull s@@t to quote Lewis Carroll "The rule is, jam tomorrow and jam yesterday – but never jam to-day."

I get why everyone is complaining, but I for one think we should give bobby till next Christmas, the players can have some time off and bobby can have some thinking space, I don't think we should sack him from one although terrible season, right now look at Dortmund, they were bottom of the bundesliga not so long ago and their fans stuck by their manager and players and now they are 9 points off champions league, what I'm trying to say is we all know that bill isn't about to sack Bobby so there is no point kicking off, booing him or the players, we might as well get behind them and make sure we're safe then reassess everything in the summer

Blue D

Think the prob is blue it may be a little late by then.

2.) 02 Mar 2015 11:18:24
BK certainly won't get rid while we are looking good in the EL.
ala Wigan (FA Cup run and then win etc. )

It's all about priorities imo, it's either the PL or the EL?

Hmmmm let's see, give me a few minutes would you .

3.) 02 Mar 2015 14:14:25
It's got to be Premier League priority.

4.) 02 Mar 2015 15:02:26
I have given this some thought and with my own personal ballot
the voting results just in

Yep it's unanimous my head said ''ffs it's got to be PL ''

and my heart says '' this is as always a no brainer ;) the PL of course ''

A lot of reliable sources reporting it and wouldn't say its strange not to have heard anything from the club, they're always quiet, one time they weren't was Leroy fer and that backfired, fully expect them not to release any information until a player is fully confirmed and contract signed

Couldn't agree more, look at mourinho. bought the players he NEEDED for his team, its the difference between clubs that win things and those who don't. Do you think that mourinho would give Koné another season to see if he could do something? Absolutely not, got to be ruthless which, unfortunately, Roberto is not

I thought it was just 1 game as it was a professional foul?
Also I think it will help him more than not as he is still young and obviously the potential is there but he sometimes dies still overplay it and this will hopefully teach him that there I'd a time to play and a time to get rid, in the long term I think bthis will be a valuable lesson and allow him to fulfill his potential in becoming England's best CB!
