Hi Ed see united are after Baines again in jan. We were all happy we kept Baines and sold Fellaini for 27.5mill . With Baines being the best of the 2 dose that mean we could get 30mill for him. Age should, nt come into it as he, s at his peak. Moyes and united think they can single players out and buy them. We should hold out for as much as we can get, because Baines will be able to play c.l football and moyes really wants him. {Ed025's Note - because of his age, without a sell on value, he will cost around £15m IMO vinny, he is worth more to us, but thats realistic mate..

Blue Vinny

1.) He's worth much more to us than a miserly £15m, if I had my way I'd make him stay for the duration of his contract when he'll be approaching 31. Can't see too many suitors then, maybe he'll sign a new contract if there aren't many attractive options. A contract extension now would obviously be preferable and pay him £100k.
If he goes on a free then we wouldn't be hugely out of pocket considering he was acquired for a bargain £6m.

2.) His value to us is about £30m, but as an ageing full back, his market value is no where near that figure. I suspect they'll offer even lower this time round, and even if they don't, I can't imagine they'll go over £15m.

Hi ed it, s been about 2 months now since everton have been talking about a new contract for Baines. Why dose it take so long for a player to sign one. He either dose or he dose, nt . And reports now saying united are going to offer Anderson plus money for Baines . If he dose go we should ask for 20million and forget Anderson as we have enough midfielders and don, t need him . If Anderson is, nt good enough for united he's not good enough for us. {Ed025's Note - im not sure where we are with bainsey vinny, but have been informed he may go in january, i would love him to sign a new contract though, so we will have to wait and see mate..

Blue Vinny

1.) Apparently we knocked back £15 mill. I don't blame him for wanting champs league and being no 3 for England in world cup year. No man is bigger than the club. Take £18 mill and offer Chelsea the money for lukaku and be aggressive. Let's get a young vibrant team

Albo

2.) We are not offering him a new contract as quoted by Roberto, so that says to me he is going. As much as I love him let's get the best deal we can and after all he is 29. There are some good right backs out there, not in the prem so much as in Europe, so we have hope, and no doubt will bank a few bob.

3.) How do u know he's not going to sign a new contract, abit of lazy journalism, and everyone says he's leavin, sure he might have been interested with utd, but he had 3 months to make that move .as for his contract the window has been closed three weeks let's make a conclusion by the end of November .martinez has hinted that a bumber contract would be offered, so surely there must be some encouragement by Baines that he is still happy at everton.just stories getting re written with a different twist

Hi ed . Because we have not signed anyone dose that mean our club debt will be wiped out with the sky money . {Ed025's Note - no vinny..

Blue Vinny

1.) Must be close to been wiped with all sky money ed. {Ed025's Note - with us running at a loss mate, we will always be in debt..

2.) If we we're losing 5 mil a year before the new sky money we must be profitible now {Ed025's Note - its an ongoing thing..

3.) Our debt is always going to be there. no matter what, we pay well for the best accountants to keep it that way. The real books are held in the British Virgin islands. {Ed025's Note - or in a safety deposit box at lime st.. :)

4.) The club operate under three companies ; Everton football club, Goodison park Stadium ltd and Everton investments.
Combined interest over the past 5 years add up to over £35m = £7m per season.

NOT included would be arrangement fees etc. for the likes of the Vibrac loan, and other short term finance that has kept the club afloat.

Yes we'll always be in debt with teary Bill in charge.

Hi ed what do you think about swapping Jelavic for Diame plus 5million then put the money towards buying Moses and. If Fellaini leaves we would have 20million to spend in January {Ed025's Note - i think jelly will stay, and become an integral part of the team..

Blue Vinny

1.) Why, apparently his buy out is 3. 5. So why give them anything more?

2.) Hope ya right Ed.

3.) I think he means we get 5, valuing jelavic at 8. 5

4.) Diame released clause only 3. 5 m. mate.

5.) We don't need to sell Fellani to buy moses has we have only spent 5 millin so far for us to sign Honda and fer we need o sell heitinga Naismith. Gueye

It, s obvious that we need to sort the defence out. We need to sign 2 centerback Virgil van dijk from Celtic and kjaer from Lille, or at least one of them. Would also like to see Deulofeu back and play 4-3-3. My team would be 1----?
2--Coleman
3--Baines
4--Stones or Van Dijk
5--Jags or Kjaer
6--Besic
7--Deulofeu
8--McCarthy
9--Lukaku
10--Mirallas
11--Kone

Would play Lukaku and Kone up front and Deulofeu out on the right.

Blue Vinny

1.) Kjaer is red and need someone better then him ried and ruffier st ettine or mandanda marseille

2.) Would that not make 4-4-2?

Kone Lukaku
Mirallas McCarthy Besic Deulofeu
Baines Stones Jags Coleman
?

Why did Martinez not give Atsu 30 minutes and take mcgeady off when it was 3 0 .atsu will be wondering if it was worth signing.

Blue Vinny

{Ed025's Note - i was thinking the same thing vinny..

With the risk of putting a damper on last nights result, I wonder which match Roberto and most of the papers were watching.
The score line flattered us and could have been totally different had Tim Howard not been on his A game.
I agree RM should have substituted Lukaku, McGeady and either Jimmy Mac or Barry with Eto'o, Atsu and either Besic or Gibson when we went 3-nil up.
It would not only freshened the team, saved legs for Sunday and given valuable game time to squad members.
Also, I couldn't see what shape we were playing - it seemed to be 2 4 2 1 1 which morphed into 4 2 2 1 1, either way Lukaku was slow with poor first touch and McGeady was also ineffective. Also, the way we set up there is little or no creativity in midfield and Barkley is sadly missed.
What a pleasure to see Eto'o's skill in possession, movement off the ball and creative vision in a short cameo which saw him create two clear cut chances one of which was taken. He looks to be a steal not only for the option he brings but hopefully Rom can benefit from his skill
and experience.
RM should put Rom on ten yard speed training against Super Kev whilst Eto'o should teach him first touch close control.
I don't think we are anywhere near last season's footballing level and will be taken apart by the top four or five PL
What is of concern is if RM thinks we are performing well he won't see the need to ring the improvement changes.

{Ed025's Note - well thats cheered me up no end.. :(

2.) 19 Sep 2014 22:30:26
Sorry Ed just trying to give a realistic and balanced view of our current form,

{Ed025's Note - i know mate..but you could be a bit more upbeat fancy..after all we did beat a good side 4-1..

3.) We were playing Wolfsburg for crying out loud. This team narrowly missed out on champs league with a much finer margin than we did. They have quality players and expecting a 4-1 pasting was beyond anyone's imagination.

We were flattered by the scoreline but we need a difficult group to get out of, if we are serious about winning this competition.I'm chuffed we won 4-1. But I'm even more impressed that it was a difficult game too.

If Howard has to make great saves for us to win then fine, that's his job.

It was a great night and a good test too.

COYB

{Ed025's Note - im with you there ace, a lot of guys seem to find faults even when we give a really good side a bit of a pasting!...they had chances yes, but we also could have scored more..

Hi ed when I was last on I said we should buy bony as well as lukaku and some fans said we would end up like leeds and Portsmouth . Some fans won, t like this but I would sell mc, carthy and play besic in his position. Sell mc, carthy for 25mill and you have your money for bony. I would play both lukaku and bony together with mirallas on one wing and hopefully Atsu on the other.

Blue Vinny

{Ed025's Note - i cant see bobby playing with 2 out and out strikers vinny, and i cant see either of them playing second fiddle to the other, for me macarthy is our engine room and allows barry the luxury of roaming, he is very important to the structure of the side imo mate..

1.) You right about not liking the McCarthy being sold quote.Besic will be a long term replacement for Barry.McCarthy and besic are our engine room future.

2.) Sell Mccarthy? Unless he demanded to leave Vinny there is no way should we even contemplate the thought not even for a ridiculous offer imo.We keep hearing we don't have to sell anyone so why should we sell one of our best players to some other club to make them stronger. As ed025 said he is our engine room mate, you can build your team and style of play around a player like jimmy mac.

3.) 04 Aug 2014 09:10:21
And where would Barkley play there with Bony and Lukaku up front? Barkley has to sit behind Lukaku in a 4-2-3-1

4.) Blue Vinny you've got to be joking. JMcC is all about Everton's future alongside Coleman, Lukaku, Besic, Barkley and Stones. Why sell to a rival to make them better? I see Jimmy Mac as a future club captain orchestrating the team once Barry retires alongside Mo. To sell to the Mancs would send out a negative message to the rest of the PL about us, having announced Ross' new deal allongside Likaku and Besic's arrivals last week.

Hi ed carn, t help feeling that our club are not ambitious enough. We moan about will we have enough money to buy lukaku. I think we should not only buy him, but buy bony as we'll and send a statement out to the top teams. Other clubs seem to find money from somewhere, but we stand still.we must have more than 20mill to spend after all the transfers and tv money from last year.

Blue Vinny

1.) Do you want us to do a Leeds/Portsmouth/Rangers? And even if we could afford the 40-50m we'd have one of the clubs record signings sitting on the bench getting cheesed off, collecting a massive wage.

2.) As much as I'd love to agree with you mate and I feel strongly that we should push the boat out and get Lukaku whatever it costs. To do what you suggest is suicide. Wages alone would cripple us, debts increased for borrowing money to buy them and we're running at a loss as it is. Doing what you suggest is the fastest way to become a Leeds/Pompey etc. we can (hopefully) push the boat out for Lukaku and spend a few extra quid that we should perhaps shouldn't but to hock the family silver would be a slippery slope to oblivion.

3.) 28 Jul 2014 00:44:42
Don't believe the hype
Everton are no where near as skint as the board would like you to believe. Our debt is one of the lowest in the league yet we not only allow but encourage the press to constantly talk about us as hobo's. We don't often lose money on transfers look at the profets we have made on players in the last 5 years. We have one of the lowest wage bills in the prem. now I don't want us to throw daft money at average players but sometimes to move forward you need to spend something. If we don't spend £40 million this summer we will go backwards because everyone else will.
And we happen to have a manager who with the right backing might creat something special

4.) 28 Jul 2014 01:42:32
We can't afford one of them never mind two, chairman is too tight, you could send him into poundland with a tenner and he would still come out with nine things

5.) We have the 7th highest wage bill in the premier league not one of the lowest. Sad as it may seem the wage bill league almost always fits the actual league positions at the end of a season
