There are a couple of reports linking us to Mykhaylo Mudryk, but it looks like he's going to Arsenal. Is there any genuine interest from us? He looks like a decent player and would be a good Richarlison replacement.

BrightonToffee

{Ed002's Note - Mykhaylo Mudryk (LW) Tentative agreement has been reached with the player and Shakhtar Donetsk for a summer move to Bayer Leverkusen - he would be a Diaby replacement. Arsenal asked after his availability at the start of the transfer window and are now keen to try and sign the player, but there is a significant difference in valuations and leaving it so late in the window makes clearance of international paperwork difficult. Wildcard Brentford and Everton.}

1.) 01 Sep 2022 14:00:01
He's holding out for arsenal and has rejected an approach from us according to one report mate.

2.) 01 Sep 2022 14:24:58
Great info Ed, thanks!

07 Feb 2022 11:48:57
Anyone know if we've been talking to Dan Ashworth, or is he definitely off to Newcastle?

BrightonToffee

{Ed002's Note - Dan Ashworth should be joining Newcastle on July 1.}

1.) 07 Feb 2022 13:09:00
Any update on our DOF hunt please ed.

{Ed002's Note - Steve Hitchen remains the DoF target as far as I know.}

2.) 07 Feb 2022 17:30:23
Thanks ed, what do you make of him?

{Ed002's Note - It will all be about the amount of control their is over direction and recruitment.}

3.) 07 Feb 2022 20:51:20
Thanks Ed - hopefully we'll have a solid structure in place soon.

4.) 07 Feb 2022 22:10:51
You don’t think this is going to be another Walsh style appointment do you Ed?

{Ed002's Note - It depends on the job spec.}

5.) 08 Feb 2022 22:12:31
The job spec will be to come up with player transfers, a playing style and tactics to implement throughout the club and work closely with the manager. Then to sit there quietly while Farad Moshri and the board over rules everything you want to do.

20 Feb 2020 22:37:36
52,888 capacity. Don't tell me we've got another gambling sponsor lined up. Fingers crossed it's just coincidence.

BrightonToffee

1.) 21 Feb 2020 07:45:35
I’d imagine a coincidence, the plans have been in the pipeline long before they considered getting rid of Sportpesa. I thought it was going to be 51878.

2.) 21 Feb 2020 09:21:34
Managed to get another thousand because they're going to ban fat arses.

{Ed001's Note - so Ed025 won't be able to ever see you play in the new stadium? That's a shame, at his age you don't get many pleasures left in life.}

3.) 21 Feb 2020 19:29:46
He could purchase two seats Ed001, hopefully next to each other!

{Ed001's Note - he would probably need 3, I hear he has been putting on the pounds recently....}

4.) 24 Feb 2020 23:32:04
It's going to be 60k with safe standing imo.

29 Oct 2017 15:13:50
Is Vlasic injured? or just not in Unsworth's plans? Been one of the few positives this season for me.

BrightonToffee

{Ed025's Note - injured i believe brighton..

Assuming Beto is in and everyone is fit, what's our best 11?

I think I'd go 4-4-1-1; Pickford, Patterson, Tarks, Branthwaite, Myko, McNeil, Onana, Garner, Harrison, Danjuma, DCL.

BrightonToffee

1.) 29 Aug 2023 10:18:53
Don't rate Patterson at all.

2.) 29 Aug 2023 10:21:16
Pickford

Coleman Tark Jared Young

Onana garner

Harrison Danjuma McNeil

Beto.

3.) 29 Aug 2023 10:27:54
4132

Pickford
Garner
Tarks
Young

Onana

Harrison
Doucoure
McNeil

Beto
DCL

Fast counter attacking balls across the box.

4.) 29 Aug 2023 10:28:50
4-3-3 Pickford, myko, Braithwaite, tarks, Patterson, mcneil, onana, garner, iwobi (dele if he gets anywhere near back to his best) danjuma, dcl.

5.) 29 Aug 2023 10:53:08
I missed out Branthwaite.

6.) 29 Aug 2023 10:55:58
Bunk's goes with 10, now that's a formation to shake things up.

7.) 29 Aug 2023 11:15:55
4411

Pickford
Coleman
Tarkowski
Branthwaite
Young
Harrison
Onana
Garner
McNeil
Danjuma
Beto.

8.) 29 Aug 2023 11:21:44
Don’t rate Mykolenco, slows the attack down, Young is better especially when Dwight is back.

9.) 29 Aug 2023 11:15:55
4411

Pickford
Coleman
Tarkowski
Branthwaite
Young
Harrison
Onana
Garner
McNeil
Danjuma
Beto.

10.) 29 Aug 2023 13:53:00
Beto and DCL up front if we’re chasing the game (as we always do) will be pretty scary to defend against.

11.) 29 Aug 2023 15:28:42
Has to be 4-4-2 at home. Play two strikers and get that ball in there!

12.) 29 Aug 2023 16:40:47
Pickford
Patt, tarks, braith, young
Onana garner
Danjuma Harrison
McNeil
Beto dcl.

13.) 29 Aug 2023 17:40:01
Love your optimism Bluepasty of trying to field 12 players in starting line-up ?.

14.) 29 Aug 2023 21:33:37
Ha ha ha new someone would notice ?.

15.) 29 Aug 2023 22:29:15
So 40 mill just spent on two strikers and neither make Brighton Toffees 1st 11. Must be after Bills job.

02 Sep 2022 10:09:50
Now that the dust is settling, I think we've done some good business here and that the team is looking stronger than last season. I'd still like to see us switch to 3-5-2 and think our best 11 could be:

Pickford
Godfrey, Coady, Tarkowski
Patterson, Onana, Gueye, Iwobi, Mykolenko
Calvert-Lewin, Gordon

Bench: Begovic, Mina, Holgate, Coleman, Gray, Doucoure, Garner, McNeil, Maupay

I think we have enough quality to mix it up to a 4-4-2, 4-5-1, 4-3-3 etc. Yes, we still have a few players that could be improved. but we're getting there. I don't see us anywhere near the relegation scrap as long as we can keep most of these fit.

BrightonToffee

1.) 02 Sep 2022 11:49:57
I think on the whole we will put out a stronger team then last year, against Sky 6 teams see us playing 5 defenders and 1 or 2 attackers, so we can flood midfield, and shut down passing lanes, forcing longer balls which will suit out CB's. Also if we play them on the break exploit speed of Gray, Gordon, Townsend, DCL, as our midfield gets stronger they be able to play more expansive and not forgetting Tarks, Coady, and Pickford all have a good pass in them.

Sorry for the long post, but I feel like there is still some confusion over the loan rules for the premier League.

Under the rules in the Premier League Handbook 2022/ 23, there are restrictions on how many players Premier League clubs can loan from other Premier League/ English clubs.

They are:

- Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time.
- The maximum number of loans registrable in the same season is four, and, under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time.
- Premier League clubs cannot loan to another Premier League club a player they have acquired in the same transfer window.
- A Premier League club may loan not more than one of its goalkeepers to another Premier League club.

With the exception of Welsh clubs competing in the competitions listed under Rule V.6.2, loans from a club in membership of another National Association do not count towards the above quotas.

Coady counts as one of our two permitted English club loans; and Vinagre is loaned from a club with membership in another National Association.

We should still be able to take Broja on loan from Chelsea and also Guirassy from Rennes before the end of the window.

I'm fairly sure this is correct, but I know there are differing opinions on here from reading the posts.

BrightonToffee

1.) 10 Aug 2022 19:06:01
Brighton in the first line after you say “they are” it clearly states:

Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time.

So no idea why you think we can loan anyone else ?.

2.) 10 Aug 2022 19:16:19
Eight international loans and two domestic loans so yes we can loan one more from the prem but not from Wolves.

3.) 10 Aug 2022 19:31:24
GD, the two key parts of the text are:

1. there are restrictions on how many players Premier League clubs can loan from other Premier League/ English clubs

2. loans from a club in membership of another National Association do not count towards the above quotas.

We can still loan players - one from an English club (not Wolves) and more from abroad.

4.) 10 Aug 2022 19:34:49
Nope - only 2 loans at any one time.

We could loan another 2 players in the next window if we were to cut short Vinagre and coady loans.

Smit - what you suggest would mean you could pretty much have a whole team of loan players which is quite far fetched.

5.) 10 Aug 2022 19:44:57
Because they are the loan rules between Premier league clubs.

Helps if you read the first part of his post ?.

6.) 10 Aug 2022 19:24:59
The ed has stated and is correct. We can only have 2 loans at any stage of the season at once. So talk of another loan isn't going to happen unless coady or vinagre are made permanent which also can't see happening within a week. Is bit confusing and poor journalism stating we are in for a loan to buy when we are already at limit.

7.) 10 Aug 2022 19:48:16
Reading that I agree with Ginger Dan.
You can have 4 players in a season but you would have to make one of your first 2 loan signings permanent before you could sign another player on loan, and you can do that a maximum of 4 times, but I have already been wrong once today alone lol.
Could there be an exception to an emergency loan? Although that would have surely had to be done last week when Rondon was suspended.

8.) 10 Aug 2022 19:57:34
There are different rules across the different leagues.

The premier league and the efl have different numbers allowed.

However everything I’ve read regarding premier league is:

Premier League rules currently state that clubs cannot sign more than 4 loan players per season and only 2 can be registered at any one time.
However there is no limit on how many players can be loaned out by a club.

Now I’m happy to be wrong as would mean we could still get another 2 loans in which would only benefit us - however I don’t think I am based on everything I’ve read including ed002 responses previously.

9.) 10 Aug 2022 20:00:25
I copied the rules direct from the Premier League website - it's pretty clear. The restriction of two at any one time only applies to loans from English clubs. Players from clubs registered in different National Associations do not count.

I posted this in order to clear up the confusion. I've seen the opinions on other posts - they are not correct; we can still loan players.

10.) 10 Aug 2022 20:16:02
The rules were suppose to change this season (not sure if they did or have)
It was a change to limit loans in and out to stop clubs stockpiling players.
Clubs could loan more players in but it was capped as was loaning players out.
Teams like Chelsea had loads out on loan and the changes were to prevent these teams stockpiling talent.
Thinking about it, as Chelsea haven't sold a load of their loan players maybe the rules didn't change.

11.) 10 Aug 2022 20:48:32
Toffee t. v are talking we may get or hope broja or che Evans on loan so I'm lost on this . Forget the players but talk of another loan baffles me any way.

12.) 10 Aug 2022 20:53:33
Well that had opened a lively discussion! I would also happily be wrong as it can only benefit Everton.

13.) 10 Aug 2022 20:56:49
Ché Zach Everton Fred Adams now linked, is it just because his middle name?

14.) 10 Aug 2022 20:32:40
Ed002 I know you’ve posted the rules before but are you able to clarify once and for all of now we’ve loaned 2 players that’s all we can loan for this window?
Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I have answered this.}

15.) 10 Aug 2022 22:30:25
WE can not loan another player right now. the original post makes that quite clear when it says 'Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time. '

We are a premier league club and we may not register more than 2 players on loan at any one time. We have registered 2 players in Vinagre and Coady. That is it. I don't understand why people are getting confused and misreading this as just referring to premier league clubs between each other.

16.) 10 Aug 2022 23:13:18
i was also confused at first but read it again : Under the rules in the Premier League Handbook 2022/ 23, there are restrictions on how many players Premier League clubs can loan from other Premier League/ English clubs

The last line states those rules are between Premier clubs. International loans don't count towards those rules, so must have other limits.

I heard 4 loans in total and only 2 from same league, so would allow us to loan 2 more players but only 1 from Premier league.

I remember other teams having plenty of Loan players over past few seasons.

17.) 10 Aug 2022 23:34:20
Well, I tried.

I expect we'll find out one way or another before the end of the month. We certainly can't afford to buy the players we need.

18.) 11 Aug 2022 07:23:29
If we could loan more than 2 players, why didn’t we get two more loans in Jan?

I’m firmly in the 2 loans at anyone time. Maximum of 4 over the season. To do a third or fourth loan you have to sign or return the first two.

It’s annoying to hear rags talking about us getting another loan player - I’ve stopped relying on the majority of paper talk as it often just to sell their papers or get traffic on their website.

19.) 11 Aug 2022 09:22:36
BR2022-23 we may not have had the finances to get two more loans in in Jan loans can be as expensive as transfers with monthly payments and wages.

20.) 11 Aug 2022 11:29:03
All outlets reporting that we are looking at loans still now……. that suggests to me that we CAN in fact loan more players or that the outlets are clearly clueless.
Let’s flip a coin hey!

21.) 11 Aug 2022 16:41:11
‘Outlets clueless’ gets my vote. There is always a clear bias from the rags in the need to make money - unless an Ed reports it, I find it hard to take most tumours seriously. How many times have we signed someone we have considered out of the blue as the rags had no idea?

2 loans at a time, 4 over a season. Allows for short loans / emergencies but need to cancel one of the first two.

22.) 11 Aug 2022 18:19:23
We CAN loan more players. like Norwich had 4 season-long loans last season, 2 domestic and 2 foreign based. Don't get why there is confusion, ed was just wrong for once. OP is correct.

23.) 11 Aug 2022 18:26:28
Brighton is right about the rules, bring in the on loan striker.

Watford tickets just sold out in 10 minutes in the members presale! why are we only building a stadium for 52k?

BrightonToffee

1.) 27 Sep 2021 16:01:00
Who! Watford or Everton (who I support)

2.) 27 Sep 2021 16:36:21
it's not sold out like

loads of tickets left.

3.) 27 Sep 2021 19:57:35
Is it like the fuel? Are you trying to get everyone panic buying tickets?

4.) 27 Sep 2021 21:55:11
Haha nice Smit.

5.) 27 Sep 2021 22:41:36
Norwich wasn't sold out.

6.) 28 Sep 2021 19:36:49
Not sure where you're looking, but I was online buying my tickets and it said sold out after ten minutes. Admittedly looking at the resale page there are the odd seat here and there being sold - maybe 50 dotted around the entire ground - I assume season ticket holders who can't make it. My point remains valid - there is a huge demand for tickets.

Surely the Director of Football is exactly the person who should be looking for the new manager? The only issue I can see is that he should have been looking for a new manager since he arrived - he should have a list of 4 or 5 potential managers that fit within the strategic plan of the football club. Maybe he has? I guess we will find out.

Any manager would have ripped Levy's arm off for a chance to reignite Dele's career for no initial outlay. Frank backed himself, which is what you want in a manager. It's a sad story - the lad clearly has talent.
