Ed what do you think the next step should be and if a new manger who would you protest for. Read your piece on Hoddle and thought it made sense.

{Ed002's Note - Take advice and build a short list.}

1.) 29 Oct 2017 22:35:23
Who would the club be likely to take advice from eds?

{Ed002's Note - I don’t know if they will turn to a third party or even ask advice at all so can’t say who it would likely be.}

2.) 29 Oct 2017 22:40:48
When you say a third party, Woukd that be an agent type figure?

{Ed002's Note - No, it would not be an agent. It would be someone very knowledgeable in the game - mainly folks you would likely not of heard of.}

3.) 30 Oct 2017 00:51:36
Ed002 - interestingly, the story (I don’t know if it’s true or not) was that when Walter Smith left Everton, he suggested to Bill Kenwright that David Moyes be his successor.
Under Moyes - who managed without any significant money to invest in the squad - we had over a decade of relative on-the-field stability with mainly top-half finishes including our only finish in a Champions League qualifying position.
So, whatever the criticism of Moyes’ often dour style of play and lack of ambition (let alone success) against “top” sides and noting many fans’ rancour at the manner of his leaving (running down his contract - which was his prerogative of course - so no compensation was due) that original advice from Walter Smith appears to have been well-placed.
The main concern I have about the next managerial appointment (notwithstanding which third-parties may be offering professional advice on the selection process) is that it appears to be that Farhad Moshiri and Bill Kenwright reportedly have different visions about what sort of manager/ coach they each want - even if they both clearly want success for Everton.
I’m glad it’s not a democracy where the fans (many opinionated, but few really informed - me included! ) hold a vote to decide. We’d probably end up with Boaty McBoatface as the people’s choice - or should I say the people’s club’s choice. Probably very appropriate for us when moving to a new stadium at a former dock.

{Ed002's Note - A great comment Bobby. Your point about Moyes is a good one and with Walsh in a position of such power then I think a strong character is needed to bring that stability. And for that the likes of Dyche and Coleman would be better placed than Moshiri looking to lever Paulo Fonseca from Shakhtar Donetsk to give Everton the coach "he" thinks the club needs. So my advice remains, take advice, and choose carefully.}

4.) 30 Oct 2017 07:16:50
Cheers eds. Hope its not the same third party who advised FM about ronald koeman.

12 Sep 2017 00:12:21
Any update on bolasie? Also do you think we may play him up top? Big man quick?

Cosh1

{Ed001's Note - he is not expected back before January.}

1.) 13 Sep 2017 13:49:24
Might be quick but can't find net.

2.) 14 Sep 2017 10:05:52
I'm looking forward to having him back, but I don't see him playing up top for us. Let's face it, we don't have an abundance of pace so I think we need him playing where he is best, on the wing.

19 Jun 2017 10:53:40
Has this dembele thing got legs? He will be a huge statement of intent . I know the SPL is not great but he has scored in the champions league against top clubs.

Cosh1

1.) 19 Jun 2017 23:14:17
I hope he's got legs otherwise I can't see him scoring to many for us.

03 Sep 2015 03:20:56
Have you any thoughts on us going for Ashley Cole , we are thin on left backs

Cosh1

{Ed025's Note - i would doubt it cosh as we now have mori who can play there if needs be mate..

1.) 03 Sep 2015 16:19:31
No Thanks rather use our squad players until Baines and Galloway are back fit. Bryan is looking like he will get back to the form we all know he has and as ed says Mori could probably do a job there, as can Browning at a push.

2.) 04 Sep 2015 16:25:50
cole would want stupid wages plus we got oveido Galloway and mori can play there and cole is over the hill

{Ed002's Note - Cole cannot be signed.}

3.) 04 Sep 2015 16:55:26
I'd read that Cole's contract with Roma was terminated before the transfer window closed and that he's a free agent. Not that I'd want him, but wouldn't his "free agent" status allow him to be signed?

{Ed025's Note - i think we have got our 25 sid, but he would be a good back up..

4.) 04 Sep 2015 19:27:30
Ed025: I posted our squad yesterday - it's only 24 players - and you left a note saying thanks for the info! As for Cole, I've just read another report that he hasn't terminated his contract, so isn't available on a free transfer.

{Ed025's Note - my bad then sid, i thought we had 25 mate..

Dear Santa
I have been a very good boy this year. All I want for Christmas is AVB and for him to bring Hulk with him.

Please no.

22 Oct 2017 23:16:33
I'm actually scared we may get relegated.

Cosh1

{Ed025's Note - it has crossed my mind as well cosh mate..

1.) 23 Oct 2017 01:05:31
You lads won't get relegated, you've had a terrible start, 9 games in with a to put it politely rubbish manager, you still have 29 games remaining. No chance your going down, as long as RK is gone asap that is, if the owners stand behind him then your doomed (that won't happen mind) .

You have Chelsea Wednesday in the cup game, doesn't mean it's the end though, to me the players aren't playing for him because of his ridiculous setup. Should he be sacked for example tomorrow, that could well change.

I still expect you to lose against Chelsea don't get me wrong but what I'm saying is, I think you'll see a huge performance increase once that fella is out the door. I can only guess but surely the players are wanting the same as you fans? They are obviously unhappy under him.

If I was an Everton fan, the biggest thing I'd be worried about right now is who you'd be getting in to replace RK. RK been sacked is inevitable but you must get a top replacement otherwise you really are doomed. You can't replace trash with trash. After such a bad start you need to start getting results. I expect you fellas to approach Silva, to me he'd be a perfect fit, whether he would join or not is another matter.

All in all, it's too early to talk about relegation, you'll pick it up.

2.) 23 Oct 2017 01:16:03
Crossed mine too. I remember moyes having a good 1St season and finished just above relegation in his second. He went on to do fairly well after that. It's frightening that Rooney, capt at man utd, Williams, swans and Wales capt, jags, our capt, and baines our dept capt, yet they have there heads down when the going gets tough.

Should be grabbing other by the scruff of the neck and demanding a performance. What I'd give for a van den hauwe, peter reid, dave Watson, Rhino, or Joe parkinson to be on the pitch for us this day and age. Just a team if wimps who are scared to make a mistake incase the gaffer slates them in public. Back to basics I think. 442 needs playing.

Forget the Dm and am. 4 defenders, 4 midfielders and 2 strikers. I've seen big clubs be relegated and not come back up, Notts forest, Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday, God even Coventry were third in the longest top flight after arsenal and us, and look at them now. there's no confidence, and that's the team, the staff, the board and importantly the fans. I'm dreaming the Chelsea game Bugthorpe there us a major turn around and quickly.

3.) 23 Oct 2017 01:45:32
I think a long season, many quality players who product is not quite greater than the sum of the whole yet, and new leadership will help. Top ten maybe in the long run. But this ain't what we expected this year.

As yes we do not have a big striker, but Moyes seemed to get by with a hodge podge of players the last few years.

A little addition in January and we'll be better, just not Manc-MC-Spur-Gunner-Chelsea ready.

01 Oct 2017 00:27:02
Can I just add a win tomorrow and we are 8th.

Omg god its was so positive pre season the pain it hurts it hurts. I do think if we get through this blip we will be stronger at the other end.

Cosh1

1.) 17 Sep 2017 20:14:35
Agree Cosh mate.

2.) 17 Sep 2017 20:49:32
Yuup will get better koeman is a good manager but he needs time to get it right a lot of new players to bed in and I suspect more to come in January keep the faith.

14 Sep 2017 21:56:38
I for one said Stay calm keep supporting but Omg I say hit the panic button and bring in the youngsters.

Cosh1

{Ed025's Note - well they cant do any worse cosh..

1.) 14 Sep 2017 22:11:36
I didn't watch but Everton are better than a 3.0 hammering I'm not a bitter supporter I appreciate the jokes but I hope you recover.

{Ed025's Note - they were not tonight JBLP, in all honesty if it was 6-0 it would have still flattered us mate..

2.) 14 Sep 2017 22:24:05
Why dowell was sent out on loan to forest ( where he is playing great) after the pre season he had is a mystery.3 number 10s playing behind a striker and not one had the ability dowell has. gylfi is a dead ball specialist, Rooney brought back fir sentimental value and vlasic playing first full game. Full back needs to be Kenny, at least give Niasse another try up top. Sad to say but Baines has lost it now, jags not good enough, Williams definitely not good enough. Maybe links to Thomas delany is what we need in midfield. Some creativity without it being a number 10.

3.) 14 Sep 2017 23:48:16
I watched dowell on tuesday playing for forest v sunderland and he was very poor.

Do you know what really annoys me. We sold Rooney to UTD and I'm sure some of that fee went towards the development of Barkley in some way or form. I'm not saying that he should go somewhere that he is not happy at but at least make sure the club he supports and was developed by is looked after. Rooney went to UTD and won the lot, I actually hope his career flops.

{Ed025's Note - sadly im getting that way myself cosh..

But does he perform against the big teams?

The answer is no. Of the 6 teams above us how many goals has he scored against them . I'm betting less than 6 and that less than 0.5 goals a game. Don't get me wrong I'm a fan and he has potential but we was always a stepping stone.

I said if we have 7 points from first 5 games then I would be happy. Still possible but even a draw against Utd is a good start. Fixtures were tough but let's all STAY CALM and KEEP THE FAITH.

Although it is wrong we did not sign a striker so sacking him is not an option.

I did think about the gelling factor but I think RK has looked at the squad last season and identified what we needed and has tried to take a proactive approach. I think europa league starts for us mid July I really believe we will finish above spurs this season .
