I think he's definitely past his best. Has he still got something to offer us? IMHO yes. The kids look up to him and he would improve our 1st team as it stands. He's a natural leader which we haven't had for 2 years. The biggest negative for me is how much will he cost signing fee/ wages. Would that money be better spent elsewhere.

I'd have Rooney back myself. The role in which he has grown into at Utd suits him and he's still better as a midfielder than anyone we have at the moment IMO.

Can anyone clear up why we have not got Stanley Park anyway as the Reds got the chance, someone told me the stadiums would be too close but that's got to be a load of garbage as why would that matter, I may have missed something or forgotten with oldish age.

{Ed025's Note - its concern over the infrastructure and logistics of the site i believe degs, it can be done but would cost more than other sites so we will just have to wait and see mate..

Why are people going on about Wayne Rooney yes I would like him back too, but he cannot join another English club. it's in his United contract, so it's up to United not Rooney, not Harry redknap or anyone else. so it is not going to happen for at least 2 seasons

Personally this ship has sailed. He isn't the same player anymore. 2 goals this season isn't what we need.

I love the lad but we want to move on a level and Rooney is not it. let's think to the future and look fondly on the past.

We don't need a mentor for the kids like Redknapp said they are doing fine with the ones there already. He's not going to replace Ross or Rom and he's not going to come to us to sit on the bench. He will cost a fortune and that money could be spent on a player that will last longer and improve the team more than 6 to 12 months Rooney may have left.
