I think Martinez is assembling a really good team, but I'm just not sure he actually knows how to use it. I look at the other teams in the league and I honestly think our best 11 are better than most of them. However I am frustrated week after week with team selection and tactics. I think he talks a really good game but when it actually comes down to the business on the pitch, he is sadly lacking. I really like the fella and his handling of the whole Stones saga has been great, but where it matters I'm still not convinced about him. I really really hope he proves me wrong, because obviously that would mean the Blues are flying and that would be brilliant! I'm just not sure he's the one to do it. Any thoughts?

The Spurs game was crying out for us to add the pace of Mirallas or Gerry to run at their defence!

we need a few players with trophy wining experience to help the team out in my opinion, in some games people like lukaku, barkley and co can loose sight of the teams goal and go missing in action to often did it too much last season
also hate the way bringing new blood in comes down to just one day at the end of the window when the transfer window is open all summer long just like any bloke who leave xmas shopping to xmas eve

you may be right about Del boy needing to come on earlier but Mirallas had a shocker when he came on at half time. Mirallas is so inconsistent and plays poorly more than good.

and it does't matter imo where they play (keepers excluded out field only)
Preferably league winners in England, Spain, Italy or Germany.
As they can identify lack of focus as well as showing stoicism when needed .

Although I'm not his biggest fan, I must say that Tim Howard earned us that point! And a point was (just about) all we deserved! Could have easily been 4-0 to Spurs today. RM got exactly what he set out for with that team selection, I mean did their keeper even have a save to make all game? It's just so negative from RM, he says he wants to sign 2 or 3 more attacking players, when he won't pick the ones we have! His tactics absolutely baffle me at times, yeah its a point away from home but I just feel we should be taking the game to the opposition more, there was virtually no threat going forward today so it was easy for them to close Rom down all game. We actually ended the game with no Attackers! Ed I sometimes wonder whether Big Dunc is sat behind him thinking "What the **** are you doing Roberto?"

Yes alright Kone as long as he plays him with lukaku, but he will probably put him on the wing leaving oviedo exposed. Del boy and Mirallas did well the other night, making the other side play further back. Why we do not play with width when we have the players is beyond me.

Howard man of match in first half. Oviedo looks on the tired side. Put Del boy on round 60th to run at them when they are getting tired and who knows. Besic for Barry would be no harm either with Barry on a yellow

Not only on a yellow but his lack of pace is obvious, his timing and read will only take him to far, a good servant but this is one season to far in the prem. If RM is the manager that everyone touts him as, how come he cannot see what the rest of us see. We have the players to play with width, we have the DM's (McArthy, Besic) to allow Barkly to play just in front of them(I.E. coming from behind the ball), but Mr Bean in his arrogance is always right. 9th now, does anyone see a pattern here.

It winds me up Ed how careful RM is! We should be starting with a purpose, take the game to Spurs! Their keeper hasn't had a shot to save in the 1st half. Not to start either Gerry or Mirallas is puzzling to me Ed. It looks like it's took a terrible injury to Cleverley to make him change things! So frustrating RM is!

Hi Ed, just watched RM Press conference and he pretty much confirmed that the 2 south American lads are done deals, which is great. My big concern is that they aren't going to be first choice type players to put pressure on the starting 11, Funes Mori is cover for Jags and stones, and Rodriguez is cover for Lukaku. Any other signings that we're supposed to be getting in before the deadline surely need to be players that will offer something NEW to the first team? The type of player (or players) that will keep the likes of Ross, Kev and Gerry on their toes. I really hope we can make a major signing in the attacking midfielder (or No 10) position, Yarmolenko would have been perfect for me, but that deal looks dead unfortunately. definitely need a star signing or 2 in the final 3rd of the pitch though, or it could be a long hard season for Ross and co. Any thought Ed?
{Ed025's Note - im with you ITB, we need at lest one stellar signing to gee up the lads, still a few days yet and the merry go round has not even started yet so im still hopeful mate..

BIG Scare tonight for the Blues Ed! Proves Just how much we need some quality signings this week, because we had to virtually put out our best 11 in the second half to get past 1st division opposition!
{Ed025's Note - we have a decent first team i believe ITB, but the squad is paper thin, players like mcgeady and oviedo just cant cut it in the prem, even naisy who i like looks short of the required level..

Think you are being very unfair on Bryan there ed mate. First game in months, he's shown time and time again he is good enough at this level. Just lacks sharpness at the moment. Agree on McGeady though, as I think most people do, not good enough for football full stop mever mind the Premier League.
{Ed025's Note - i like bryan swan, but im afraid it looks like all them injuries have taken their toll mate, pace and positioning were poor but just my take on it..
