Are we still interested in martina at saints? We need a RB but surely this guy is not good enough if he is 3rd choice at Southampton. I know we nearly got him in summer and now he would be a free but surely we have moved on from lars Jacobsen type freebies.

Keep in mind that this is going to be competition for seamus. We aren't likely to get a top class rb just to sit on the bench. Either we go for a really promising youngster, which will depend on what's expected from people like kenny, or we get a solid back up.

Just for arguments sake, if we sold Barkley and lakaku for let's say £100 million, and say they put aside £100M for new transfers, would we then be able to spend 200 million on new transfers or would there be a limit.

Thought they had given him a contract so they would get a couple of quid when they sell him. Sad thing is he could do a really good job for the likes of Newcastle or Leeds to get them promotion. Amazed now one at that level hasn't tried to get him.

Koeman has come and said he still wanted depay so either the board haven't backed him or player didn't fancy us? I hope it's the 2nd as I would hope there is still funds to spend. Perhaps a lucky escape though as his attitude is suspect . Why do you reckon we didn't go in for him?

I have said before that some Blues have got stuck in a rut after years of little investment and progress. but to blame past failures and lack of investment on Kenright is just unfair on the guy. In the days of Mike Walker and Joe Royle walking out because he was refused the money to sign Torre Andre Flo.
we were rock bottom thereafter. Kenright did an amazing job in stopping the slide and now we have progress at last being made. but these guys cannot see the wood for the trees.

{Ed025's Note - it was a let down jbg, but we did bid for 3 £30m players and a £20m one in yarmolenko mate, i hope we learnt that we need to do our business earlier and if that means pre contract agreements then so be it, walsh may have come a bit late to really affect the last window but in january i expect a lot more..
