Do you know if there is anything to the rumours about Sanchez and Besic Ed?

Both are at personal terms stage.
2.) Heard that these two will be confirmed within 24-48hours
3.) Everton supposed offer for Besic 4 mil. Sanchez signed?
4.) I don't understand why we're being linked wit centre mids still when we have macarthy,Barry,Gibson,lundstrum etc,doesn't make much sense to me unless Gibbo is being moved on.
5.) It's all about squad depth with the Europa league and three domestic competitions

Ed is it true that we're close to signing Steven Caulker from Cardiff?
{Ed002's Note - I can't really help here, the only confirmation I have regarding Caulker is that Crystal Palace and Southampton have been showing an interest - presumably as a replacement for Lovren who is interesting others.}

Seen that Newcastle are in advanced talks with Ayoze Perez who the media linked us with in January and Jack Colback who has been linked with us. Any chance Roberto will try to hijack either of those deals?

1.) I think Colback has his heart set on a move to his boyhood club Newcastle. don't know about the other one.
2.) Financial fair play: Mandzukic, Costa, Fabregas, new center half, Shaw +-(110 mil) Ba, Lukaku, Torres, Bertrand, Lampard, Cole, Obi Mikel +- (50 mil) with a huge reduction in the wage bill. Lukaku will go both for the money and Morinho has a long memory. Trouble is it won't be Everton!

3.) I'm with both of you. Lukaku doesn't want to come here and there will be plenty of 40 pieces of silver on the table to buy his soul. It's time we accepted it and moved on

Looks like we really are after Cleverley then, interested in Batshuayi as well but does anyone know if we want James Forrest? Read it in a few papers now.

Ed do you know if the rumours regarding Jordan Rhodes have any truth to them?

1.) I hope not. I know we got jags, Cahill etc wtc from the Championship but I think we need someone better than Jordan Rhodes to push us into the top 4 it's no coincidence that nobody has come in for him after 2 years playing in the championship. No whete near good enough for us. Imo
2.) I disagree Paddo, I think he's definitely worth a crack. Probably not as a main striker but would be a great option to have can't argue with his goal scoring record.

I think his price tag for an unknown prem player probably puts most people off Syd, they paid 8 million for him so would probably want at least 10
4.) I think he could do a job for us.you don't score the amount of goals like he has without knowing were the net is.he seems like a poacher to me.he is well worth signing.
5.) Jermaime Bekford scored for fun at a lesser level. I'm not saying he couldn't do a job Sydney, just not the type of player for a side trying to break the top 4. Maybe for one of the newely promoted teams he would do ok but not a top 4 teams striker, imo anyway and especially as someone said at around the 10 million mark
6.) I see your point fellas but in today's market 10 mil is the price you are forced to pay for a proven goal scorer at any level and as far as Beckford goes he didn't have as good a record as Rhodes but even in the season we had him he did perform when he was called upon. I also remember him scoring a pretty special goal against Chelsea. I'm not saying Rhodes will be fantastic but he is a gamble worth taking IMO.
7.) Think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one matey :)

Ed may I ask why it takes so long for us to tie up deals? Sunderland only had a bid accepted for Altidore yesterday and he's due to sign tomorrow whereas we agreed a fee for Kone last week and we are still yet to sign him. {Ed007's Note - It depends on how complicated the transfer is Joe, and everyone agreeing with everything, most of the times it's agents that cause delays trying to squeeze as much money for their client and more importantly (to the agent) themselves.}
1.) Got to agree other teams seem to be able to complete transfers quite quickly ours always seem to be long drawn out affairs

Any idea when the Kone and Alcaraz deals could be completed Ed? Hearing Kone could be tomorrow? And are you aware of any other ongoing deals excluding Honda? {Ed025's Note - i expect kone and alcaraz to be done before the end of the week joe, im sure there will be more mate, but roberto is being very coy mate..

Thats awful negotiating by us, we should have put a clause in that would have got us a lot more money than that especially considering Rooney's potential at the time.

Don't understand the clamour from some fans for Cahill to return. Was diabolical in his last season for us, a few years in that rubbish league across the pond won't have changed much. A great servant but we got rid at the right time.

Would he really improve us though? My mate is a Norwich fan and he can't wait to see the back of him. He's slow, predictable and just an average player really. Not for me.
I might be wrong in saying this but I think Moyes took a look at Byram but was put off by his price and went for Stones instead, so I can't see us going for him again. As for McCormack he's a very good championship player and would be a decent squad player but I'm with Ed on this one think we need better and I have seen a lot of him as I live in Leeds.
