1.) You don't understand what tapping up is. United have done nothing wrong, the bid IS low, but why would you go to a negotiation table and jump straight in with the maximum amount you want to pay?
2.) Official offers aren't "tapping up"
3.) The "tapping up " refers to how Utd approached Moyes before offering him the position as Manager, which everton have received an official apology?
4.) Would have been an idea to mention that.

ED, I pity your job on this site. It seems like u can never please some people. They moaned when we had no money, now they moan we don't spend enough. I agree we have not spent a lot, (net spend) but I like to think that is good business.
{Ed025's Note - some do like to have a moan micky but its nowhere near as bad as the liverpool or united pages, in my view we dont have a lot to moan about as i think our business has been great and there is still more to come, we all asked for us to do our business early and we have but now some are saying we have not signed anyone for ages sometimes you cant win, what some dont take into consideration is the wage bill, agents fees, tax, vat etc on all these transfers which can almost double the amount of the fee mate..

I agree Micky I feel we have done good business. I for one don't have a clue as to the impact of all the other costs however it pleases me to see we have recouped a lot of funds off the deal for Lukaku, which to me shows we have been smart with the money and still have funds for further acquisitions! Was great to get some business done early and set our stall out.
I am also one of those fans that throws out my opinion on here similarly to some of the other posters but I do try to keep it constructive.
It's going to be pivotal season ahead and at times may not go how we want but it's all steps back in the right direction.

Ed002 had many times explained the add on's for transfers which can be high. For example say we got 75M up front for Lakaku and we pay 45M for Sig, the amount we actually pay is "45 plus x" were "x" can be a big number. Consequently we do not have 30M left for players but "30M minus x". Fans need to leave the finalncial aspects to the experts and be happy with the players we have go in so far with the prospect of more to come.

Although shnieder and mata probably have their best days behind them. While we do not have European football I believe we will have to rely on sightings like this. I think that these players can also bring valuable experience to those young players we have so we are better ready if and when we do get European football.

I don't condone cheating but I can see your point stef. Instead of us starting to dive let's hope that something can be done to the cheats that already do this.
