I posted a week ago. SA will go, Eddie Howe in and another new era!

I'd be more than happy with Howe. Would understand the long term project, still young and learning and he has a style of play and philosophy. I think that having a set style for the first team is massive and this can be implemented into youth teams as well as looking for new players. It gives the whole club as a whole a sense of direction and us as fans a style we can get behind.

{Ed025's Note - i can buy into that joe..

2.) 26 Feb 2018 21:15:57
I'm glad mate. As much as I believed Allardyce was the only one to ensure we didn't go down, it really puts into perspective the value of performance as well as results. It was alright at the start when we were getting some results but when you're losing and performing and setting up the way we are, it shows how unambitious and ancient Allardyce is.

3.) 26 Feb 2018 21:29:04
Not to mention he is a blue through and through.

4.) 26 Feb 2018 22:16:33
Here's hoping it's true, reliable source. We need identity, a plan and to stick with it as the Stadium comes together.

5.) 26 Feb 2018 22:55:42
Don't hold your breath on howe.
Fonseca will be the new manager and he will agree terms in the summer after guiding shaktar through this champions league comp.
Be happy because we will have the next big name in management and he will lead us to a great new beginning for EFC.
This is already done and dusted.

6.) 27 Feb 2018 06:13:11
Will he attract high profile names tho 🤔.

7.) 27 Feb 2018 05:05:31
Hope this is true Pauly, any manager is going to be a risk but this guy oozes class and looks the part and I think we need a breath of fresh air in the club.

8.) 27 Feb 2018 07:06:27
i would do a little victory dance in the snow if fonseca was appointed.

9.) 27 Feb 2018 09:29:03
Howe left Bournemouth once before and failed at Bolton, he reminds me of RM, so be careful what you wish for.
Personally we should be looking for a more proven manager but we are hunting in a very difficult arena.

10.) 27 Feb 2018 10:48:09
Wakka. Think it was Burnley but I agree about your point. He left Burnley because he was home sick for down south. Worry it would happen again.

11.) 27 Feb 2018 11:01:08
Fonseca would be amazing. But if I’m honest looks too good to be true. I can’t see him coming to us, as much as I’d love to be wrong.

12.) 27 Feb 2018 12:48:11
Where have you seen fonseca to be done pauly?

13.) 27 Feb 2018 14:21:07
geoffjohno you are right Burnley, but it didn't go well and he wanted to go back.

14.) 27 Feb 2018 15:01:00
The one thing i totally agree with in these posts is when 'ollblue' stated that it would be a breath of fresh air for us. We need that more than at any time in our recent History.

15.) 27 Feb 2018 16:07:18
Yeah we need that feel good factor and positivity back that we had in the summer, someone like Fonseca would bring that.

16.) 27 Feb 2018 16:11:39
The Fonze or Howe or anyone who isn't named Allardyce. I for one can't wait to hear his massive face, moaning to Talk sport after he is sacked. No class guaranteed.

17.) 28 Feb 2018 09:21:26
No point in having a long term project for any manager the fans will not live with the faintest prospect of relegation should the club hit a bad run of form the board will follow suit and look for a short term fix.

18.) 01 Mar 2018 04:21:55
Wblue he was coming before SA but shaktar asked him to finish his job there and they won't stand in his way in the summer.

19.) 04 Mar 2018 23:55:26
I'd rather have Arteta than Howe as said before he's too much like Martinez and not enough experience at top club. Where Arteta boast UCLexperience as player and coach. Most importantly as said earlier we need a whole new identity our own way of playing myself would enjoy a hard pressing physical style fighting for every ball against all comers whether playing top teams or lesser teams.

19 Feb 2018 21:22:40
So don't shoot the messenger but the club has had intitial talks with Eddie Howe. looks like it has legs and reliable source.

Oumartime2

1.) 19 Feb 2018 23:12:29
Have a thumbs up.

2.) 19 Feb 2018 23:23:30
Don't want anything to do with him the guy is a poor man's Roberto Martinez. He plays nice football but is defensively clueless and the last thing we need unless we want to be relegated.

3.) 20 Feb 2018 00:17:55
No they haven't because they'd ask permission like they did with Silva and it'd be public. Find a new source, Heinz is good :-)

4.) 20 Feb 2018 14:10:06
Great shout with the Martinez comparison, play nice football at times, but horror show at the back and seems to only be interested in the attack side.

5.) 20 Feb 2018 20:04:11
The club can speak to his agent/ representative without needing permission of his club, so they could have done this, as this is usually the case with players also.

6.) 20 Feb 2018 20:09:14
Brian - As stated. Don't shoot the messenger. Afraid reliable so go cheer yourself up with some beans on toast, meanwhile SA or a bloke with a defined style and whose done an incredible job with a tiny club. I know who'd I take. Such a miserable negative fan base. I'm 37.seen nothing in all my adult/ teenage life apart from 1 cup. Get real.

7.) 20 Feb 2018 22:24:18
Let's see how it pans out then eh?

8.) 21 Feb 2018 12:46:40
Any team that plays open, expansive, attacking football will be open to conceding more goals. I can remember some fantastic performances under Martinez. How many can anyone remember from this season?

9.) 21 Feb 2018 18:15:44
What season Blue? 😀.

10.) 22 Feb 2018 23:52:58
At the very least, Blue79 Gilfi and Rooney both got contenders for goal of the season in Europe and PL. But let's not get too carried away with all the Martinez praise, the man had one tactic and got found out by almost every team in the league. Do miss his positivity though. Some of that would be phenomenal.

11 Feb 2018 00:12:36
So now press saying we're in for Fonseca. another change? Ed002 any info? This scattergun approach is diabolical, that's unless there's a plan. I'd prefer stability, a plan with the right people in the right jobs making sensible decisions. For Everton to make progress it's going to take some time. we're miles and miles behind yet we seem to be going backwards with the current approach.

Oumartime2

1.) 11 Feb 2018 09:14:24
So you would stick with Big Sam then mate, no chance.

2.) 11 Feb 2018 09:57:00
They have to fill the papers with something boys. Wouldn’t pay too much attention to rumours of new managers. Sam is already planning for next season! We wouldn’t have been happy if he’d played open, expansive football and got us relegated. In a tight league, he’s managed the fixtures and it’s worked. We all had higher expectations for the season but the bad start never gave us a chance. Get the youngsters back in, work out who can go (Martina, Williams. ) and who we need to have the squad to push on next season.

ED002 - Your common sense and view on the shambles at our club or are expecting too mucg?

Oumartime2

{Ed002's Note - The real issue is that the club (a) has a primary owner who is not a footballing guy but a businessman, (b) Moshiri has taken poor advice, initially perhaps from someone not entirely switched on to the English game, and then I understand from someone else, (c) having SW - a very, very good scouting guy - as Director of Football rains a fundamental problem as I have explained before. All of this adds to the lack of a chesive plan which should have been the starting point.

SA has a job to do and he is not being helped by SW being in place - but he is a strong enough character to deal with it. His job this season was simply to get the club safe, and as stable as possible - and he is on course to do that, regardless of how pretty the football is - it was never going to turn around overnight. Decisions then need to be taken for the summer but it would be unprofessional not to include SA in that process. If he is going to be replaced the club needs to be clear with him. The worst possible move would be a knee-jerk reaction change - it won't work in the long haul.

Many of the fans are seemingly not prepared to get behind the club and give their support - their previous toxic behaviour has already been at the cost of a relationship problem that has seen the board reluctant to share information - and quite rightly.

As for what I think will happen, I expect Walsh to say but a new management team to arrive in the summer.}

1.) 04 Mar 2018 11:15:00
Might be a ridiculous question Ed, but would Walsh be open to a move to the scouting dept. ?

{Ed002's Note - I would doubt it.}

2.) 04 Mar 2018 12:58:03
Ed002: as always, a well-informed, well-reasoned answer to the ottiginal post. It does seem that Mr Moshiri has not received adequate advice on footballing matters, so let’s hope he gets better advice from now on. As for the fans’ toxic behaviour, imho that is exacerbated by how easily social media is used to spread the vitriolic abuse. At least traditional media (pundits, journalists, etc. ) identify themselves when criticising.

{Ed002's Note - I am with you about social media Bobby.}

3.) 04 Mar 2018 13:39:32
Hi Ed. Wasn't it SW that wanted Sam in?
Surely they can work together, they're friends aren't they?
Also, if Sam can't work with a DOF surely that's going to affect his chances of being here next season.

{Ed002's Note - It was SW but the issue is that he isn’t a Director of Football.}

4.) 04 Mar 2018 19:26:15
Thanks Ed002 for the thoroughly detailed reply it is appreciated. It's a hugely important summer ahead for the club and a long term strategy to work towards improving a wonderful club. We all need to accept it's a write off season and support the players like we did v Leicester at home which was a positive atmosphere.

28 Jan 2018 18:54:40
Eds, Any word from whether the new Management team (First Team) are working i'm unison with the DOF?

Oumartime2

{Ed025's Note - as far as i know its still walsh mate so im sure that is a concern to all of us..

1.) 28 Jan 2018 20:22:50
I know these banter forums are more often than not bring out some negativity, however for this season most posts on Walsh I’ve agreed with 100%. Do you think the board are seeing this, or just don’t want to admit they got it badly wrong.

{Ed025's Note - as a chief scout he is very good chalkie but as a DOF poor, its a step up for him which has not really worked out, now whether or not thats down to him or the string of poor managers we have recruited is anyones guess mate..

Ed002.I have heard that SA is astonished at the mental strength of our first team, which requires addressing but surely the recruitment/ management of the purchases is a huge issue. Is to your knowledge Steve Welshe's position under review in anyway as he clearly is no DOF?

Oumartime2

{Ed002's Note - Honestly, I keep having to answer the same questions over and over - please read the posts, use the search engine.}
