Hiya Ed (s) , Happy New Year and hoped you had a good one. Just wanted to ask if we were in for any Goal Keepers other than Marshall of Cardiff and Mandanda. Both are better than Howard (From what I've been told) , but is there anyone. better?

QB

{Ed001's Note - the issue is with Howard, the talk of goalkeepers is because he is considering returning to the US, rather than because Martinez wants to upgrade on him. At the moment, the manager is hoping he will stay and the club are not actually pushing for a new keeper, the rumours are simply assumption because everyone else is on Howard's back. Personally, I think it will be the end of the season, that there will be any movement on this, unless Howard is a lot more set on leaving than I believe he is.}

1.) 05 Jan 2016 14:57:52
I've just read that we are looking at deigo Lopez from Millan any truth in that?

{Ed001's Note - from what I have been told, it is him looking to find someone interested as he is out of favour there. His reps have been hawking round everyone for the last few weeks.}

2.) 05 Jan 2016 15:51:41
Ahhh okay, thanks ed.

21 Jan 2015 18:26:30
Tottenham in for Mirrallas.

Id either ask for 15 Million and Capoue/ Dembele/ Paulinho,

Or

Andros Townsend straight swap,

Or

20 mil and Lennon (if we have to)

QB

1.) 21 Jan 2015 19:01:09
Given Daniel Levy's record as a tough negotiator, I can't see us getting anything like these deals or valuations.

2.) 21 Jan 2015 19:40:08
we get 15 for him and would not want townsend

3.) 21 Jan 2015 19:30:54
Andros Townsend, straight swap, ha, no

{Ed025's Note - not in a million years..

4.) 21 Jan 2015 21:19:38
im just suprised no ones asked for Pochettino

5.) 22 Jan 2015 20:51:07
sa90: Why would we need a Pochettino when we already have a Pinocchio at the club?

{Ed025's Note - i wooden nose..

19 Jan 2015 16:45:56
Ed, is there a chance that we could be signing anyone this window?

Since Sammy is leaving, are we looking at a CF or is McAleny going to get a go do you know? Cheers.

QB

{Ed025's Note - i think it unlikely we will sign anyone QB, there may be a loan, or possibly a goalie, but dont bank on it mate..

1.) 19 Jan 2015 19:41:51
Nice one Ed, had a feeling that would be the case. Oh well. Hope for a win today tho.

10 Jan 2015 18:55:34
Ed correct me if am wrong, but the VALID links this window are:
- Lennon
-Marshall
Anyone else?

QB

{Ed025's Note - them 2 QB, plus we did inquire about shaquiri, and macarthur has had a few mentions mate..

1.) 10 Jan 2015 21:35:55
Cheers Ed, so long as we get a solid GK in, then i'm happy.

2.) 10 Jan 2015 23:00:13
Shaqiri is off to Inter Milano.

16 Nov 2014 17:40:01
Rhys Bennett being tooted as a possible back up/replacement for Distin. Plays in League 1 so am not too sure. but tbf I've never seen him play either.

QB

1.) Surely Brendan Galloway is the successor to Distin?

2.) But it seems that this could be Distins last season here. and do you think Galloway is ready to step up by next season? Guess we'll have to find out.

3.) Stones?

4.) Scissors?

5.) Stones (aka rock) - maybe.
Scissors - possibly.
Paper - no, I don't usually believe what I read about our club and our players in the paper.
;-)

Hiya Lads, Been a while. Not even sure anyone remembers me haha. Anyways.

Missed out on Khazri and Slimani in the space of about 3 days. Doubt we'll be making any new signings, and it doesn't seem like any dead weight will be offloaded either.

Ah well. Guess we got to accept the truth that none of our dreams of becoming a top side will ever be realised.

I'm sick of Roberto now. More so with the board, but what can we do? There's always next year/ decade.

QB

1.) 29 Jan 2016 18:03:41
When did we miss out on these 2? Is it like Shaqiri were we missed out despite never being interested? .

2.) 29 Jan 2016 18:07:17
It is frustrating QB but I will always live in hope. Some debates on here about us being big / small club.

My take on it is we're a so called sleeping giant. In terms of winning trophies we are well behind the times. But the potential is there. Big fan base is a key aspect to any future development and we have a very decent fanbase.

Some people make comments on here about 'small club mentality' which I laugh at.

Like seriously does anyone have a 'small club mentality'. I mean I don't think Bill or any Evertonian for that matter would choose us to remain mid-table. Everyone would want us to be winning things and to be a successful big club. Don't think anyone has the mindset 'i'd rather be mid table than competing at the very top'. To suggest such a 'small club mentality' like that is ludicrous imho.

Now there's a big difference in that and being sensible and being grateful for not getting relegated. Some people say we're not ambitious enough because we don't splash the cash like its going out of fashion.

I've seen us at our lowest in the top flight and seen how close we were to being relegated. Thank god that never happened. Since those days I consider the club well run to where it is today.

In no financial difficulties and interesting some investers. Does that make my appreciation for the club remaining stable having 'a small club mentality'.

Of course not. These people who think we should have a big club mentality (their words not mine, I think we are a big club) . Could they tell me how we get competing at the top again.

Because as far as I know money doesn't grow on trees and just because someone has a big club mentality doesn't automatically mean a Jeanie is going to appear clap his fingers and et wallah we're automatically competing at the very top.

I know most these peoples answer is a big rich investor to come in and bring back the glory days. Nowadays that's almost the only way to get back up competing.

Problem with that is these people unless they are like Chelsea's and Man Cities owner (who use their club as a past time) they invest to make money and don't care about Everton F. C.

They only care about making a profit. There are those who would definitely help Everton. I'd welcome them with open arms. Bill I think is a very capable man in choosing who to hand the reins over to.

Of course he and the board are not perfect and have made mistakes. Imho overall they have done good with Everton.

Anyway that's just my view and as I said I consider us a big club with huge potential to return to glory days. Arsenal are a team I admire and I'd like to see us be similar in our approach to future running of the club.

That's just my view but hey what do I know. All I want is for Everton F. C. to get back to winning ways and be the great powerhouse we once were.

3.) 29 Jan 2016 18:27:44
"Arsenal are a team I admire".

NBTB you legend :-)

4.) 29 Jan 2016 18:48:58
When I started following Everton around 1955 ie 60 years ago, I considered Everton the TOP club in England along with Arsenal. In those days John Moores was chairman and bought whatever top player was available or was wanted.

I still consider Everton a big club but unfortunately not delivering big results at the moment. I used to go to Goodison wondering how many we would win by, not as it is today. Mind you we had better managers in those days. Older posters can verify that.
Now the club is in a better financial state thanks to Bill and Moyes, all is being wasted the longer Martinez remains. With this squad and better manager we should be in the top 4 EVERY season.

With all respect to clubs like West Ham, Crystal Palace, Watford, Leicester, Stoke etc we should not be below them in the league table. We have no entitlement to be above those clubs but we are where we are for the simple fact Martinez is not a good enough manager for a club like Everton. Those other clubs have improved, changed manager, invested, so Everton need to do the same starting manager change.

5.) 29 Jan 2016 18:54:51
Of course I do Gunner. Respect also, love the way they run the club and Wenger. Your transfer policy is very admirable. Not like Man Utd, City or Chelsea.

I know its a while since you've won something but I'm hopeful that changes this season.

Then Wenger would have broken the mould and more will follow.

Expect next season when we win the league 😜.

6.) 29 Jan 2016 19:11:22
It's hard not to admire the gooners dags when you think about it mate. Here's why.

United at the start of the prem had all the dollar and walked there way to the league title

Then a man called jack walker ploughed millions into Blackburn won the league

Arsenal just got a new manager with new philosophies who brought in Viera, petit and a couple more if I remember right he brought a new way of living for the squad of Bruce rioch they then held off for years when it came to big money buys and IMO punched above there wait in terms of what they spent and what they achieved so they could fund a new stadium that will increase income all of that they done without having to sell there sole to a Russian/ american devil I know kronke I think his name is, is there but they got to were they are today the hard way wenger I believe has grafted his balls off for about twenty years will go down in history as one of the biggest legends that's ever had a connection to your club

Since walker there has been abramavic and the city owners they also bought it simple as that

To me and most people arsenal are a proper club I think us and you lot hold there record for consecutive top flight seasons Coventry were with us but there well gone and I'm afraid if we don't get rid of bobby brown shoes it could just be arsenal mate.

7.) 29 Jan 2016 19:39:09
You are so correct NBTB,
We couldn't compete with the likes of Man City and Chelsea and their sugar Daddies, selling their soul to the devil, as well as their tradition and heritage, for a few pieces of silver (ware) .

Wenger did the right thing, selling Highbury and building The Emirates, thus enabling extra match day revenue to boost our spending power.

Alas, we had to sell some of our star players to help pay off the "mortgage".

However, short term pain for long term gain (hopefully) , but more importantly, we still keep our tradition intact.

Just my opinion anyway.

8.) 29 Jan 2016 19:56:09
Absolute top post Liam and so correct.

Respect.

9.) 29 Jan 2016 20:21:37
Ahh Swanny, How I missed your blunt sarcasm and cutting humour. Yes we have been linked to both, and Khazri is agreeing a fee with Sunderland now, whilst we have had a bid rejected for Slimani.

NBTB, Agree with what both you and Keenone are saying, but as a younger evertonian, I've never seen Everton win anything, and so, it remains that I can't see us waking up from this "sleep" as you put it. And lately, I've started to even just accept that we are a standard Mid-Table club.

With that, I want Martinez to go now. I am at the end of my tether with that man, but I doubt we'll see him go until we drop below that relegation line. Because it is more profitable for the board to put in just enough finances to see us to coast through season by season in the PL, rather than Invest big, and taking a chance for top 4, as there is possibility that it won't happen.

Idk. I've just had enough. Desperately wanted a trophy, and it was bad enough that we got beat, but then I saw Roberto's post match comments, and it just cemented to me that even the manager thought we were at our level.

10.) 29 Jan 2016 22:37:13
Agree with blueliam. I was trying to say what you've said but you put it across better than I did.

15 Apr 2015 17:10:14
Top one, Cheers Ed. Tried to reply, but didn't work. Reckon I'll make a new one now.

But what to? Hmmm Perhaps GhostFaceKilla or something extravagant.

I have it on great accord that this post is a lie.

Alrighty lads, I decided to post about the BIGGEST signing we should make this Summer.

I just watched Highlights of this player on Youtube, so he must be good. You Ready?? Ok. David Henen from the well know town of Libramont-Chevigny, Belgium. 18 years old and looks the part. If we can thwart off anyone coming in to purchase him from Olympiacos fc, then we should be sorted.

I believe we have agreed a 200,000k pound deal if this stint went well. I have heard the youth staff believe it has.

There is our Mirallas Replacement. Sorted.

Anyways. How about that eh? undefeated in our last 4. Have we played well in any of those 4? Nah. But isn't that a good sign. Atleast we are able to grind out results.

Also Ed, i'm still not able to reply to others posts, as it Says "Username not recognised". Should I just make a new account and Alias? Had this one since the start all them 3 years ago. Let me know Ta :)

QB

{Ed025's Note - our IT guy is moving house at the minute QB so his internet is down, give me a couple of days to sort it mate, then if not change names..cheers..

Morning everyone! Not been on in a while, but a real change has happened since the last time I was here.

We got knocked out of Europa, and everyone was like "OMG Martinez OUT", but then we won against Relegated QPR (No disrespect to QPR fans, but be reasonable), and everyone was like "OMG Turning point to the season".

My question is did I miss something??????

RM had 1 thing going for him. The fact that we were still in the Europa, but now we're knocked out, why is he still here?? Its a disgrace.

I don't know whether people in the know have knowledge of him being replaced, but I for one would like to see that, AND a bunch of players gone too.

Its clear now that Mirallas is very much another teams player. Why? Because there is no way in heck that we are going to be able to reach the CL, or Europe with our current position. So there is already one OUT.

Garbutt will also be gone, with Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal all looking at him I think? So there's another OUT.

Rom will stay another year ( I HOPE SO) He's been a life saver for us, and to think people actually make him a scapegoat. Imagine playing a style of football that doesn't suit you, but still being able to score goals. he's BRILLIANT.

Now onto the Deadwood:

Howard - Loads of mistakes. hopefully he can chip to the MLS for a decent fee. say 1 mill if we're lucky.

Distin and Alcaraz - Oh my goodness. the torridness of the two. Distin is shocking, and Alcaraz is a lazy sod. Hardly runs after things and is scared to tackle.

Barry - Just no

Pienaar - FINALLY. Someone I actually like. Love the lad to bits, but reckon he's not at Prem level any more. Would love to see him prove me wrong tho.

And Am done. reckon I've got everyone.

In the summer, we need:

1 CB

Promote Browning to Understudy Coleman at RB

1 Creative mid, like Sigurdson and Fabregas esque. Someone who will "Hollywood Ball" the ball forward to our attack, and not be affraid to lob a lad.

and finally 2, yes 2 wingers. Lennon has grown on me since his arrival, but I think Spurs will price him out. and the other winger could be anyone better than McGeady. Please. Please?

Hope your all doing fine tho. I think we should be good for the rest of the season. waiting for the season of 15-16.

QB

1.) 24 Mar 2015 10:19:27
Brownings a centre back and i'd promote him to there and buy another to have them 2 with stones and jags. Spurs can't price us out, its all down to lennon and us at the end of the season, I want baines to go, we need a new goalkeeper, can we release howard please, 2 more wingers and a striker

2.) 24 Mar 2015 11:07:05
how about Heaton from Burnley for a new goalie?

posted before about Austin from Stoke?

3.) 24 Mar 2015 21:19:07
Out: Howard to mls (3m), Hibbert, Alcaraz, Distin, Barry free, Pienaar (2m), Mirallas (10m), Kone (3m) = 18m. IN: keeper (3m as backup), januzai (10m), aweye (free), midfielder (10m), and persic (15m), plus 2 others on free transfer to beef up squad. Oh and Billic as new manager

{Ed025's Note - 3m for tim ray?....turkish lira maybe..

4.) 24 Mar 2015 21:52:33
The yanks might pay big money for one of their own stars (here's hoping)!

{Ed025's Note - well they paid dood money for london bridge raymondo...lets hope they do the same for our old relic mate..

15 Mar 2015 13:39:53
Ive seen all over twitter and other forums posts from fans and players saying Kiev is the turnin point, and we should be excited for the rest of the season.

Im far from a pessimist, but even I feel that this is a pre mature reaction. Remember when we beat Wolfsburg, and said the same. But it didn't happen. Exactly.

The only way I see us winning today, is by scrapping everything RM says, and playing our own way. BUT that won't happen. And Howard will start. And we will concede a howler.

But i'm not a pessimist.

Anyways, as usual going to back the team but not the manager. COYB!!

Sounds true imo Zulu. I actually had a feeling that it was the case when he stepped up to take it. But at the end of the day, a peno is different to free kicks and open play, as it needs a cool head and cooler finish.

Yes he's lost a friend, and yes he wants to show respect, but there are other ways of doing it. And Football is a business where wins count for anything. He needed to leave it to bainsey, and keep his emotions in tact.

I do feel sorry for Kev, but he's gone and shot himself in the foot. Reckon he will be off in this window or the next.

To ease you pain, all I can say it that there are definitely 3 other teams in the prem that are worse than us. So we should be safe.
