Did we pay 27 million for a striker to live on the bench or what?

Shakey30

1.) 04 Feb 2018 00:29:57
That really shouldn't come as a surprise, it seems to be the norm for this season.

31 Jan 2018 13:35:39
Mangala to sign today.

25 Dec 2017 11:11:12
Just been reading on sky sport that Brighton have agreed 18 million pound fee for dembele from celtic I well take a punt on him for that price.

Shakey30

1.) 25 Dec 2017 15:52:25
Thats a steel if true. I've allways rated the kid and wished we had signed him from fulham in the first place.

10 Dec 2017 17:05:14
Martina is terrible, sooner bains is back the better.

Shakey30

1.) 10 Dec 2017 20:14:29
Is that still a rumour? Or has it now been confirmed. Says it all when Williams is calling him out.

2.) 10 Dec 2017 21:12:49
Agree with both of you Martina is a liability we definatly need a left back in january. I thought John Joe Kenny was excellent today he has a big future ahead of him.

3.) 11 Dec 2017 09:59:37
Martina is a right back, SA must see him as the best choice left back at the moment as he get selected so the fact that he is doing a job for the team earns him a bit of slack IMO.

4.) 11 Dec 2017 15:47:59
have to ask what's happened to Luke Garbutt? He showed so much promise and looked like he could replace Baines in the long term.

5.) 11 Dec 2017 19:48:06
koeman did not give him squad number then sent him on loan on loan.

6.) 11 Dec 2017 20:23:56
True, Everton can't register him until January apparently.

03 Nov 2017 11:48:34
I think we have some of the best youngsters in world football right now this season is already a right off a new manager will not blood our young talent in to the first team I think we could very well give the job to rhino till end of season as he nos what our young players r capable of an not scared to put them in the first team so it could turn out to be a united class of 96 and a new era at our club is born.

Shakey30

1.) 03 Nov 2017 12:17:57
Absolutely not! If we continue losing it will destroy their confidence, we will be relegated, fans will turn on the manager and board! . any more?
We need a Manager to take control, reinstate players belief in themselves and get the most of the ones we have spent £125m on pre season. its a huge task and we must make an appointment that can start that process immediately!

2.) 03 Nov 2017 12:37:56
I agree with you about the young players, but I thought rhino did them no favours with his decisions yesterday once morgan was booked he was the obvious change. With Ghana and Beni we were for once winning the midfield. We started with 3 players who could make a tackle and were reduced to 1. Poor jonjoe was lost on the left, you think rhino should know jonjoe's limits better than anyone. Some of the comments I've read about the young players are bang out of order.
As much as I dislike Martina I thought the lack of concern showed for him while he was down injured was a disgrace especially from his captain. The lyon players showed more concern than Ashley.
Our fans were brilliant, lyon beautiful city, friendly people let down by their police.

3.) 03 Nov 2017 12:45:12
You read my mind wakka.

4.) 03 Nov 2017 19:44:57
Thought Unsy myself but that is 3 in a row now with the latest being against Lyon. Am I the only one that did not understand his thinking with that line up. He left 3 'experienced' players at home, did not choose to blood any young up and comings and played our record signing play maker as an out and out striker. We need consistency, guts, nounce and pace, above all we need pace. Also I believe Unsworth is not being neutral in his thinking but is bringing personalities into it, he certainly has something against Sandro.

5.) 03 Nov 2017 19:48:28
Scoundrel, agree with most of that but the police bit is just a lack of understanding on the way of doing things and training. I lived on the continent for many many years as well as elsewhere in the World. You want to see Policing go to South America.

6.) 03 Nov 2017 21:39:05
And yet Wakka the dithering still goes on. Time after time it is the same thing and appears to be a wholly Everton thing.

7.) 03 Nov 2017 21:48:26
Yes but this is central Europe a city that could pass for a capital they were using us as a dress rehearsal for the final. Don't get me wrong we have our share of embarrassing fans but French or Italian fans wouldn't have been so patient with the police as ours were.

8.) 03 Nov 2017 22:00:29
Totally agree with you re the Martina thing Scoundrel. Didn't see any of the players go over to check on him which was nothing short of disgusting given how horrific that injury looked and could have been. I don't know if he's been shunned because he was Koeman's man, but the players should be ashamed.

9.) 04 Nov 2017 10:21:21
Just because Unsworth is a blue it does not mean he is good enough or experienced at that level, otherwise give it to Jimmy the kit man!
Once the season had started and it was obvious there was trouble ahead the search should have been underway even behind closed doors.
Whoever comes in has a massive task, never thought I'd say that in the summer, but signs were there in the buying of players with no apparent plan!

Well boys an girls how good does he look in that top?

Shakey30

1.) 17 Jan 2018 19:48:07
At least he is smiling mate, looks like he actually wants to be at Everton in the famous Blue Shirt, not like some of the others I might add.

2.) 17 Jan 2018 19:50:09
I know its a highlight reel on Sky Sports but one thing i do like is Walcott's persistence he gets knocked down tripped whatever and just keeps going and gets back to his feet!
I am looking forward to him buzzing about the pitch for us.

3.) 17 Jan 2018 19:58:40
100 % improvement on what we have had mate under the last regime.

4.) 17 Jan 2018 20:15:21
Although he does have quite the injury record, its better than Sahas was when he arrived, all those many moons ago and he stepped up with something to prove. If we signed Walcott say two years ago, we would probably be overjoyed at the ambition of the club and hail him as a marquee signing. He's had bad luck with injuries, but still has decent pace, and he's hardly been given much of an opportunity by Wenger, who hasn't really managed his development very well. Regardless of any opinion of big Sam, Walcott is a good fit for him, so surely a surge in positivity will at least get us closer to the 13 points we need to stay clear of the drop that much quicker. My only concern is the effect on the development of Lookman that this signing might cause. Hope Theo is a revelation. Thing is, he really could be.

5.) 17 Jan 2018 20:18:21
as a super sub for me mate.

10 Dec 2017 20:56:22
Just been looking at the Liverpool site and all the fans seem to think the ref gave us everything today and the penalty wasn't a penalty. Are they deluded from what I watched they got a lot more than we did from the ref and it was definitely a penalty.

Shakey30

1.) 10 Dec 2017 23:24:23
Of course they're deluded, they always have been.

2.) 11 Dec 2017 00:50:08
I am not a big Sam fan but I do admire his straight talk especially when asked if it was a soft penalty and he said there is no such thing it’s either a penalty or not. 😂😂😂.

06 Dec 2017 08:00:21
Am I wrong in thinking rooney should not be at old Trafford watching United or is it normal for players to move to other clubs then go watch there old club?

Shakey30

1.) 06 Dec 2017 08:39:51
Nothing wrong with it imo, he loves football so why not go and watch a game and I’m sure the only thing he paid for was fuel to get there, oh and the driver.

2.) 06 Dec 2017 08:43:17
Yeh imo your wrong, he's gone to watch a match and maybe catch up with friends. No story no problem. He'll obviously still have an affinity to the club.

3.) 06 Dec 2017 09:27:50
he came to goodison to watch us while playing for utd.

4.) 06 Dec 2017 10:01:24
Good Lord this is really getting sad now, what a load of tripe why can't Wayne watch whoever he wants, I ask you.

5.) 06 Dec 2017 13:43:09
Quick get the beating stick out we've had 2 wins 2 clean sheets so not much to moan about but I'm sure 1 of the first team players (insert name of whoever is hated this week) was seen buying red Leicester cheese how dare he buy something with red in the title clearly not commuted to our club and clearly trying to bring us down from the inside surely must be hung drawn and quartered before the weekend.

6.) 06 Dec 2017 14:18:36
Come on, Shakey! Have you never left a job somewhere but then have the occasional meet up with your old work mates!? Unwind a bit, will you!

7.) 06 Dec 2017 19:00:03
Man goes to watch former football club play match

No story here.

Next permanent Everton manager odds (Sky)
David Unsworth - 5/2
David Moyes - 4/1
Sam Allardyce - 8/1
Carlo Ancelotti - 8/1
Sean Dyche - 10/1
Chris Coleman - 10/1
Mikel Arteta - 12/1
Thomas Tuchel - 12/1
Rafael Benitez - 12/1
Who ye want.

Shakey30

1.) 23 Oct 2017 18:14:49
Tuchel, Fonseca, Rafa or Dyche in that order.

2.) 23 Oct 2017 18:19:20
Rafa an Dyche don't appeal to me.

3.) 23 Oct 2017 18:22:56
Who ever we get will struggle with the expectations set by total unrealistic fans. If the next manager doesn't start winning then we he will be under pressure for the sack yet again. Good luck to whoever gets the poison chalice! Hopefully Unsworth can come in as a caretaker with little expectations other than steadying the ship and building confidence back up. Wouldn't like him to get the job full time just yet as I think it may be detrimental to his progression into management. Also wouldn't be surprised if the next manager plays the same players in the same positions as Koeman has either. COYB.

4.) 23 Oct 2017 19:01:43
Very brave text mate . Expect some abuse of the mob later .

5.) 23 Oct 2017 19:57:10
sa90 sort your head out and post productive posts not head in the sand posts, you made it clear Ron needed more time, suppose at the time you felt Martinez needed time, Walter Smith as well.
The team was his the ideas were his and as the saying goes you live and die by the sword, he fell on the sword with his poor tactics and starting lineups, add to that the isolation of certain players and that obviously didn't go down well as the dressing room was well and truly lost.
Out of interest what would you have done?

6.) 23 Oct 2017 20:00:15
Not a brave text at all, more like an ill informed and immature text. The majority of fans had normal expectations raised indirectly by Koeman himself and the 2 year project statement. What I expect is Unsworth teaching the Team how to walk again starting from the back.

7.) 23 Oct 2017 20:09:35
U don't know who it will be yet and your already being negative about it.

8.) 23 Oct 2017 23:24:24
Dont forget mike walker.

15 Aug 2017 20:37:48
I don't rate gs at 45 does anyone else.
Before u all jump on me saying I'm Mr negative I'm not and I.

shakey30

1.) 15 Aug 2017 20:45:27
I rate his talent. Price is not our concern.

2.) 15 Aug 2017 20:50:25
Too right mate money is not an issue for us fans we will never know what goes on behind closed doors, so its easy for some posters to make rash statements, GuernseyBlue.

3.) 15 Aug 2017 21:00:22
Bang on dentielad. Sigurdsson improves the team, cost is irrelevant and none of our concerns. God there's just no pleasing some people.

4.) 15 Aug 2017 21:27:56
I think we're all learning that money is nothing we will understand as fans and the player and what they offer to the team is more important.

Welcome to Everton Sig.

5.) 15 Aug 2017 21:46:19
How are people putting a value on him when you see what other players are going for I think we have got a top class player, coutinho is probably technically more gifted in terms of going past people but sigurdsson provides more productivity as koeman puts it which at the end of the day that's what it's about goals and assists.
To me £45m for what he brings is money well spent.
