I no it's all paper talk about some players that we are linked with, most being players from the teams Silva or brand have worked at. now most player we don't need or will not improve us, the problem we had is, every player at some point show some form but every player at some point let there form slip, now how do your sort out who to keep and who to get rid of?

Simontoffeeman69

1.) 30 May 2018 20:53:46
In this day and age the papers are about as accurate as Stevie Wonder at the rifle range.

As has already happened in this slow summer, stories are exposed as nonsense quickly.

Back in the late 90s the paper with no name was actually pretty good at predicting transfers.
Some bloke on twitter can now post some fancy and it's soon quoted on NewsNow.

If the details in your question were true, our club would be in serious trouble, especially critical upstairs.

My advice is to chill and ignore 95% of what you read.

2.) 30 May 2018 21:12:45
Yes agree to a certain extent , but last Summer we signed quite a few of names that were being banded about .

3.) 30 May 2018 21:36:54
All comes down to opinion. For instance the papers are now plugging we are interested in Carvallo (spelling! ) because of the Silva link. If true is he better than what we have now, my take and opinion is no.

4.) 30 May 2018 23:20:15
If we play 2 dm the carvalho is a definite upgrade on shnids and Davies. Maybe better than Gueye tbh.

5.) 31 May 2018 12:39:04
But we should be looking to move away from playing 2 DM and add an extra creative midfielder to the mix. Could play Gueye sitting in front of a back 4 with Gylfi, Lookman and either Vlasic or Klaasen as a 3 behind Tosun and Walcott.

Hi ED, just wondering if you think we might get the ukrainian in January, or do you think that bird has flown the nest

Simontoffeeman69

{Ed025's Note - we will certainly try simon, but he will be much sought after by teams who will be willing to pay a lot more than us mate, so although we have a chance im not holding my breath..

1.) 09 Sep 2015 16:27:50
the Ukrainian dose not seem to keen on joining us plus barca r supposed to be making a move for him in January ed where we ever interested in segi Roberto from barca if so how close where we to making a bid for him

{Ed025's Note - it was more speculation than fact duke, they wanted him farmed out and we have a good relationship with barca so people put that together and came up with us mate..

31 Aug 2015 15:57:30
Hi Ed, just been reading we might be intrested in going for a loan with mikel from Chelsea, do you think there's any truth and would they do business after the stone dealings .

Simontoffeeman69

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any interest from Everton in John Obi. Chelsea are certainly willing to let him leave at the right price - I don't think anyone has suggested he will be loaned anywhere. Besiktas were given permission to talk to the player but I am sure he would like to stay in England.}

1.) 31 Aug 2015 16:15:00
Sorry just read so much lately wasn't sure where I read it, soccernet Nigeria , says it all really , still would like to see him at Everton

2.) 31 Aug 2015 16:31:06
Please god no, makes Youssuf Mulumbo look like Patrick Viera.

3.) 31 Aug 2015 16:35:22
I think mikel is a good player, and although it's not a position we particularly need filled I would still him come. I read that it was a loan with a view to a purchase at the end of the season type deal.

{Ed025's Note - i think he is awful lee..

4.) 31 Aug 2015 16:42:02
Fair enough Ed, all our own opinions. But I think one thing we can agree on is that he won't be signing tomorrow either way.

5.) 31 Aug 2015 18:30:56
Forget any player from Chelsea coming to Everton after Stones knock back, more chance of Rooney signing for Liverpool

31 Aug 2015 08:59:18
Hi ed, do you think there could be any last minute activity with the ukrainian chap, I mean would they really keep him for another year then lose him for free, or do you think they have hoped for a bigger offer and Everton maybe waiting to pounce at the last minute, just a hopeful idea.

Simontoffeeman69

{Ed002's Note - Not involving Everton - he has said he doesn't want to join the club.}

1.) 31 Aug 2015 12:22:53
According to Kiev President he could come in January. He was happy with the offer and the deal but it came too late for them to find a like for like replacement. They simply do not want to be humiliated in the CL, os that was the stumbling block.

With all the speculation with players now being linked to us, which player are you most looking forward to seeing play. at the world cup.

Simontoffeeman69

{Ed025's Note - any one linked to us simon..

1.) 03 Jun 2018 18:53:47
Being a southerner from an old scouse family, i'm surprised you are watching the WC.
Normally the epicentre of anti England support. I've never got that by the way.

2.) 03 Jun 2018 19:24:10
I’m watching Siggy. I’m eager to see if he is free from injury.

3.) 03 Jun 2018 20:56:23
Myteamsbetterthanyours I have no idea where you got that from, I'm way down in Cornwall and there's a big following of England in the world cup, every pub has it on and will be packed to the rafters, we might not have the football teams down here like you lucky buggers up there, but we love our football.

{Ed025's Note - its really a north south divide simon, southerners have all the bunting and union jack,s up in the pubs and they revel in the national euphoria, up this end not so much it seems, but how much of that is political i dont know mate..

4.) 03 Jun 2018 22:21:10
Ed 25 i watch world cup think lozano be break out player so would like sign him alsov think panmara will beat us in world cup like Iceland euroes think they want it more as most players want to showcase themselves to get move.

5.) 03 Jun 2018 22:36:37
We are saying the same thing Simon.
Have a quick 're read of my post.
I'm a southerner and I know lots of Scousers family and friends who have an anti national team stance. I've also seen it mentioned over the years on fan groups when the big tournaments come around. I just think its weird.

6.) 04 Jun 2018 10:14:08
I don't think its anti England more the case of can't be bothered to watch the over paid under performers in the England click. Can't think of the last England team that went to a tournament with players in form and not just selected on experience and past glories. To be fair to Southgate he looks to have picked most of the squad based on form not personalities, so I am looking forward to see how they get on. We may surprise a few as long as we don't get any penalty shoot outs that is.

7.) 04 Jun 2018 13:46:45
Maybe it’s a bit like the royal family. We never see them outside of London, so we have little interest in them. Hadrian’s Wall was probably built 200 miles further north than what was originally intended.

8.) 04 Jun 2018 15:53:17
It's certainly a Liverpool thing.
The city has always had a bit of a complex on such things.

31 May 2018 20:57:22
Really glad everything is in place with the manager and brands, just hope we let them do there job, next season will be big season for us to start our work, next season we won't be pushing the top four, and we should understand this, we need a lot of new players and we don't want to turn in to a club who sacks managers after 1 season, we need to build, in a coupe or 3 hopefully we will start pushing towards the top.

Simontoffeeman69

{Ed025's Note - absolutely simon..

1.) 31 May 2018 22:21:01
I think it'll take a few years and a good 5-6 transfer windows for Silva to get the team HE wants, it's up to you as fans to persevere with him and his plans for the team.

Success for you lads is coming in my opinion. He just needs to change a hell of a lot. He's brave for taking such a position because it's not as if 1 or 2 signings will get you up there, no, it's going to take more then that but if I was you lot I'd be very confident about the future.

Even with the team you already have, managed by a man like Silva with a couple of additions (atleast) in this window, you'll definitely see a difference next season. He was the right man for the job, I said it weeks ago and stand by it.

Obviously as a Liverpool fan this is concerning ;) only messing, as I said earlier I wish you the best of luck! Be happy and look forward to the future, if I was in your lots shoes, I'd be delighted. Last season was a disaster for Everton and I didn't like to see it I must admit, seeing that turd incharge of any club is a disgrace but, onwards and upwards! Be chuft. :)

27 May 2018 19:30:07
I no all seems abit quiet and I think that's a good thing, we need to put the top people in place then work down, last season was exciting but we seem to go abit over the top with who we bought, hopefully this time around we have calm head and bring in the correct players to Enhance the ones we have. let the papers keep guessing.

Simontoffeeman69

1.) 28 May 2018 11:12:39
well said.

2.) 28 May 2018 13:42:48
Spot on simon.

20 May 2018 08:20:56
Just been reading Everton are interested in zaha, now he would be a good addition to the side, not sure he will leave palace and i'm sure if he did there would be interest from a lot if clubs.

Simontoffeeman69

1.) 20 May 2018 11:13:15
Lookman and bolasie already. And you want Zaha? I had to downvote that. Not necessary for the squad. Wouldn't take the place of anyone we have in same positions.
We have that young Belgian on the books yet to play for us yet.
I think we need to be looking at during up other positions, wing is strong.

2.) 20 May 2018 13:08:27
They want top dollar for him. M9ney he is n9t worth. Yes not my money but the more we spend on one player, the less we can spend on others. I think he's always been one of the most 9verrated players.

3.) 20 May 2018 14:55:14
What you think he is worth is irrelevant I didn’t think a full back was worth 50m and a lot of pundits at the start of the season thought that but it never came up again.

4.) 20 May 2018 16:26:24
Would have Zaha over Bolasie any day of the week.

5.) 20 May 2018 17:22:00
There is plenty of room for zaha
Why are you on about?
Lookman is ace but is still only substitute and impact player level.

Bolasie is utter tripe. He needs to be taken out back and shot frankly.
He wasn't ever any good. A couple of wierd fluke runs for Palace and 3veryone thought he was the next big thing. More Paulo Wanchop if you ask me. Vlasic is also below standard. So that leaves us with a returning loan player and room for a new LW. ZAHA I think will stay for 1 more year at Palace. But we should still compete for him.

6.) 20 May 2018 17:22:00
How is it irrelevant? I was giving my opinion that money could be better spent elsewhere that is not irrelevant. That is a reasonable OPINION. That is what we do on this site, give opinions. I honestly think the board would baulk at the prices being mentioned as well.

7.) 20 May 2018 22:28:31
Would prefer us mounting a bid for Draxler if £50mill is being reported on spending for a winger. Prioritise tho. 2 x cb's, lb and cm are positions that need filling before a winger.

14 May 2018 10:06:01
If we have a new manager, the new players to come in would have to replace players that haven't really performed, Rooney looks like he's off, siggy plays that roll so covered, and Walcott can play there, so problem, snids hasn't been good, so a new midfielder, bolasie has been poor, new winger, hopefully lookmen brings his A game next season, Williams out, jags really at the end of his days so a new centre half, along with a new striker, and a left back, that's once again a lot of players coming in, this is with out the player who didn't make the grade this season and weather they actually will be kept or sold on, it's all exciting having lots of new players, but and it's a big but, it all takes time to bed the players in, and with the world cup could make it difficult to bed the team, we don't want to have a poor start again.

Simontoffeeman69

1.) 14 May 2018 12:13:11
The key is Simon, not to buy 5 or 6 players and then throw them all in together which is what happened last season.
A CB and CM could be thrown in straight away and then integrate any others that come along.
Lb and winger can be integrated slowly.

2.) 14 May 2018 15:23:59
Totally agree smit666 just hope we get the right man in charge and we get some exciting players.

3.) 14 May 2018 18:30:09
Deffo Simon. Fingers crossed.

4.) 14 May 2018 19:30:25
Agree with that. Probably add a winger to that.

Any player with a pedigree will come with a price, we need players like this, 10 million or 50 million it's not our money, should it concern us, did it concern city, Chelsea, no, they got players in and once in, added and added until they got to the top, this is the only way, this is why arsenal have failed, spurs will fail, they won't pay the money, always want value for money,

Simontoffeeman69

{Ed025's Note - its hard to disagree with that mate..

Don't you just love stupid comment like this, he hasn't even got three his office door yet and someone things he's doomed, this is what's wrong with some people, your not happy with the appointment fine, but please write stuff that's true, not made up to put a status up, young with new ideas, Pellegrino old with old tactics, if he's that good there's no way on earth he would of gone to west ham, the reason he's gone to west ham because that was the best team that wanted him, Fact.

Just read a report saying if he did want to sell his 30% shares in arsenal, he would have to find someone to pay 700 million with out any say in the club and not even a seat on the board, seems a lot of money for 30% so not sure how correct this is, but still a lot of money for anyone just to throw at some thing with out a say.

Even thou I was really glad when Sam came in, I really have change my mind now, The problem is, since we've been safe from relegation he has had the chance to play more attacking football, play more attacking players, he hasn't, this I feel is the only way he knows how to set teams up, difficult to beat but with no real attacking threat, I thank him for what he has done, but if we want top players, we need a manager that can play top style football, no point buying attacking players and asking them to defend in our own half for 90 mins.

Simontoffeeman69

{Ed025's Note - i agree simon..

I think we need to get rid of all the fringe players, and maybe williams, Martina, then add 3 or 4 top players, can't change the team to much to quickly or we will have the same as last season.
