I've been reading in the papers that we are close to agreeing for the Celtic lad, surely we aren't after 2 left backs, reports can't be right, be nice thou .

{Ed025's Note - i cant see tierney leaving celtic this window simon..

1.) 29 Jul 2018 15:07:08
I hope so. That would be a shot in the arm. The noises coming from this Barcelona LB aren't very promising.

28 Jul 2018 14:47:26
Just winding about RLC, papers saying about a loan, do you think this will come as a late transfer, will Chelsea wait and see who they bring in before letting him go on loan, if they do this at all.

{Ed002's Note - The club has yet to speak to the player after the WC. Everton has made no approach to Chelsea for RLC, although two other EPL sides have. Chelsea would be open to another loan but right now the player is starting to try and talk his way out of the club completely – and they won’t stand in his way – and the player now knows they would have let him leave last summer if another player did not opt to leave – so a slim possibility for Everton at best.}

1.) 28 Jul 2018 15:38:03
Hi Ed, what seems to be the difficulty with the Mina deal. Is he holding on due to his options, possibly seen Manchester United and Lyon linked. Or is it because we still haven't gave a Barcelona an acceptable offer? Feels like it's been dragging on and possibly best if we move on to Gibson. Cheers mate.

{Ed002's Note - There is no difficulty. Barcelona want a sizable sum and the player wants to understand his options.}

2.) 28 Jul 2018 15:46:38
I'd be over the moon if we signed RLC, Digne and Mina (or another capable CB) to add to Richarlison.

3.) 28 Jul 2018 17:16:08
Thanks ed, be nice to have him driving us forward .

30 May 2018 16:50:37
I no it's all paper talk about some players that we are linked with, most being players from the teams Silva or brand have worked at. now most player we don't need or will not improve us, the problem we had is, every player at some point show some form but every player at some point let there form slip, now how do your sort out who to keep and who to get rid of?

1.) 30 May 2018 20:53:46
In this day and age the papers are about as accurate as Stevie Wonder at the rifle range.

As has already happened in this slow summer, stories are exposed as nonsense quickly.

Back in the late 90s the paper with no name was actually pretty good at predicting transfers.
Some bloke on twitter can now post some fancy and it's soon quoted on NewsNow.

If the details in your question were true, our club would be in serious trouble, especially critical upstairs.

My advice is to chill and ignore 95% of what you read.

2.) 30 May 2018 21:12:45
Yes agree to a certain extent , but last Summer we signed quite a few of names that were being banded about .

3.) 30 May 2018 21:36:54
All comes down to opinion. For instance the papers are now plugging we are interested in Carvallo (spelling! ) because of the Silva link. If true is he better than what we have now, my take and opinion is no.

4.) 30 May 2018 23:20:15
If we play 2 dm the carvalho is a definite upgrade on shnids and Davies. Maybe better than Gueye tbh.

5.) 31 May 2018 12:39:04
But we should be looking to move away from playing 2 DM and add an extra creative midfielder to the mix. Could play Gueye sitting in front of a back 4 with Gylfi, Lookman and either Vlasic or Klaasen as a 3 behind Tosun and Walcott.

Hi ED, just wondering if you think we might get the ukrainian in January, or do you think that bird has flown the nest

{Ed025's Note - we will certainly try simon, but he will be much sought after by teams who will be willing to pay a lot more than us mate, so although we have a chance im not holding my breath..

1.) 09 Sep 2015 16:27:50
the Ukrainian dose not seem to keen on joining us plus barca r supposed to be making a move for him in January ed where we ever interested in segi Roberto from barca if so how close where we to making a bid for him

{Ed025's Note - it was more speculation than fact duke, they wanted him farmed out and we have a good relationship with barca so people put that together and came up with us mate..

31 Aug 2015 15:57:30
Hi Ed, just been reading we might be intrested in going for a loan with mikel from Chelsea, do you think there's any truth and would they do business after the stone dealings .

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any interest from Everton in John Obi. Chelsea are certainly willing to let him leave at the right price - I don't think anyone has suggested he will be loaned anywhere. Besiktas were given permission to talk to the player but I am sure he would like to stay in England.}

1.) 31 Aug 2015 16:15:00
Sorry just read so much lately wasn't sure where I read it, soccernet Nigeria , says it all really , still would like to see him at Everton

2.) 31 Aug 2015 16:31:06
Please god no, makes Youssuf Mulumbo look like Patrick Viera.

3.) 31 Aug 2015 16:35:22
I think mikel is a good player, and although it's not a position we particularly need filled I would still him come. I read that it was a loan with a view to a purchase at the end of the season type deal.

{Ed025's Note - i think he is awful lee..

4.) 31 Aug 2015 16:42:02
Fair enough Ed, all our own opinions. But I think one thing we can agree on is that he won't be signing tomorrow either way.

5.) 31 Aug 2015 18:30:56
Forget any player from Chelsea coming to Everton after Stones knock back, more chance of Rooney signing for Liverpool

I have to say I've been just reading on this sight for a while and not posting alot, it doesn't matter what we do, who we have in charge, it seems to be the same people always trying to find anything to find fault, we are playing better, we've had injuries, we had silly sending offs, now this will effect the team, now we have players coming in, and we are playing good football, we aren't world beaters, but we are now in with a shout at beating anyone, away yesterday 17 shots, last season it may of been 2 shots, and that's if we had a good game, patience is what is needed, this is going to be fun season where we win a nd lose, but it will be entertaining, next season will be the big season where Silva will know 100% where he needs to strengthen, just enjoy the show.

1.) 07 Oct 2018 09:05:09
Good post
That's how I see it
So much better than last season.

05 Sep 2018 22:04:06
Looking at our squad now, I feel we are strong in most positions except up front, does anyone think we would be in the market for another striker and maybe off load naisse.

{Ed002's Note - Everton remain short of a RW, I still think that is the most pressing need.}

1.) 06 Sep 2018 07:12:50
I'd like us to solve two problems in one and bring a right sided Welbeck or Rashford type that can cover for Tosun in the centre but can also operate on the wing if necessary. Who? I'm happy to leave it to Silva/ Brands to decide, even if it means them spending whatever funds they have on a different position if they choose. I think between them they did a great job last close season so have faith in them
Personally though I have to say I still don't think Niasse is Premiership quality.

2.) 06 Sep 2018 07:18:44
I agree with Ed. Silva wants competition for each position and injury cover. With Walcott injured, and let’s be honest, he hasn’t the best record of fitness throughout his career, we need cover on the right to balance the team and keep Theo on his toes.

The nice thing is that Theo is such a good pro that he would welcome the competition whilst still keeping a good attitude.

3.) 06 Sep 2018 14:25:47
Also Walcot can play right across the front line. He was attracted to Everton because Alardyce said he would have that freedom. And yes we do need a RW.

4.) 06 Sep 2018 16:10:21
I think we need more central midfielders, a centre forward and a back up keeper for Pickford as Stek is well passed his retirement date.

5.) 10 Sep 2018 11:57:40
the hope is stek will be backup for at least another year whilst Virginia finds his feet in the u23 set up (lad we signed from arsenal) when he will make the step up to no.2 next year possible he's very highly thought of, I know arsenal fans were gobsmacked as to why arsenal let him go.

30 Aug 2018 13:16:18
It wa good last night that we got the win, it was also good we had a lot of changes and they all seemed to play well, this can only make us as a team better, Calvert got a couple of goals, that's great for the team and him, hopefully he can be a player this year for us, Kenny is showing what he's capable of, this will keep Coleman on his toes, and bains will have to be on too form to keep out or he's going to lose his place, only negative about last night, we leaked a goal, would of been nice to keep a clean sheet, but zouma and holgate first real game together, it's all looking good, and we are playing good attacking football, let's hope for 3points at the weekend, then bring on the bigger boys for the real test.

1.) 30 Aug 2018 16:49:14
Steklenberg is not capable of keeping a clean sheet. Woeful keeper.

2.) 30 Aug 2018 21:37:20
Didn't in all honesty take much note of our defence (yes I know I should) , took it for granted that Zouma and Holgate could cope quite well and on the whole they did. Nothing against Holgate but am looking forward to see how Mina and Zouma play together, have a sneaky feeling though that both are to similar in character and would need a strong personality to watch over them, Schneiderlin perhaps!

3.) 31 Aug 2018 16:14:57
Does anyone else think Stekelenburg should have save that header other than Myteamsbetterthanyours?

28 Aug 2018 11:48:04
Time for us to unleash some of the new boys, time to give the subs a chance to show the other players what they can do if they don't perform, I like our squad this year, I like we have Dowell there and hopefully lookmen, give them the chance, Bernard and if Calvert wants to be counted as a striker need to get a game against Rotherham and get on the score sheet, I'd like to think if he could get a couple of goals and get his confidence up, he could be a player, but goals count, at the moment he's just not scoring. zouma need to play along side holgate for90 mins so they can get an understanding, going to be a long 4 weeks if there pairing doesn't work, but I have a feeling it will, both young, quick and zouma is strong, we have a good squad time to use it .

16 Aug 2018 10:41:34
I'm really looking forward to the weekends game against Southampton, I think we can gauge abit better now we are going to do if we can keep 11 players on the pitch, I'm hoping for a good performance, plenty of goals and none conceded.
Will be interesting to see the line up, personally, aparts from jags, I think the team will be very much the same, hopefully couple of new ones on the bench.

1.) 16 Aug 2018 16:46:54
With you there mate, good luck to the lads.

Every one is entitled to a bad game, there only human, doesn't mean we have to jump on the band wagon and slate them every time, over a season, if a player has played below par, the criticize, not after one game, we have to keep changing our team ever week, then where we we be .

Don't believe it, he will come to us, if we weren't confident, we would of pulled out along time ago, it's all getting abit late in the day now, do man UTD really need another un proven defender, no they need players who are top of there game, if mourinio doesn't get it right this season he will be off.

It's getting them over the line, I do believe we will get mina, I don't think we would be going so close to the wire if we didn't have a chance, Bernard is a good player, if he signs I will be happy but if not, I won't be to concerned, we have enough cover, I'd like to see smalling or cahill on loan as well, think Mina and smalling would be a good pairing, both tall and a threat in the box.

If it gets to late I'd rather Cahill than what we have, good defender and maybe just what we need at this time, as a last resort. plus remember how well distain did for us, I'm sure he was around the Same age .

Unbeaten, new manager, new tactics, players not ready or injuried, players suspended, 4 games in, not lost, same team as last year at the moment aparts from zouma and signe yesterday, playing better, not quite getting the result, it's all positive and we shouldn't start being negative, look at West ham, bet they would change places with us .

I no the sending off is a bad thing, but shows he's got some fire in his belly, something we've been lacking of late, just wish we could keep on 11 players for the whole 90mins, think threw stupidity and bad luck, we are dropping points to easily, I just hope this is t going to be a season of bad luck, just seems to be going that way at the minute.

What you have to remember is, aparts from rich, we have nearly the same players in the team, the standard of football is already 100% better, we have new players getting up to speed, who will then make us even better, we have a lot to look forward to this season, I'm not thinking about top 6, I'm just enjoying what we are doing, if we finish 7,8 and have played well, it's a good start, and next season hopefully we can then push on, we aren't in the same league as the top teams yet, and shouldn't think we are, but still exciting times.

I'd send him out on loan for the season, think another season we could get a lot more money for him, especially if he carried on performing like he did last season, be stupid just to sell him at this age, he's only going to get better .
