Talk that sigurdsson is signing a new deal with Swansea if that's the case big fish in a little pond.

If true, then Koeman will be furious.

2.) 31 Jul 2017 18:42:12
I'd be livid if I was Koeman I am as a supporter but he's the main man.

3.) 31 Jul 2017 18:42:55
If true then all it means is we have pulled out.

4.) 31 Jul 2017 18:43:58
For me, it's time to move on. I would guess it's Gylfi or Klaasen in that role. Have to give Klaasen time to settle now. It can't be good for him to settle into a new league, with us already lining up a player in his position. Would rather buy 2 quick, creative, wide men up top now. And my personal opinion is 50m has always been 15m overpriced (depending on what we get fir Barkley)

Got a horrible feeling we've been blagged why are kenwright and elstone still at the club.

Sophefc

{Ed025's Note - because they own a chunk of it?..

1.) 06 Jun 2017 10:57:27
Give it a rest Bill has been an absolute Saviour for our club, I hope he stays on when Mr Moshiri buys the rest of his shares, GuernseyBlue.

{Ed025's Note - im with you GB..

2.) 06 Jun 2017 11:22:40
I think his passion and loyalty definitely saved us in the past, but that doesn't mean he actually knows how to run a club, he's just a massive fan with money. I'm not a 'Kenwright out' fan, but if we want to actually move forward it is definitely time for him to hand over the reigns.

3.) 06 Jun 2017 13:53:33
How old are you ander? Do you honestly not see what that man has done for our club?

4.) 06 Jun 2017 15:56:09
I'm with Ander here, and don't patronise his opinion, certainly not based on what his age may or may not be. I'm not part of the "Kenwright Out" crowd either. Kenwright did save the club, but that was the best part of 17/ 18 years ago now. It's come to the point now where we can't keep letting him stay purely because of sentiment based on something he did a long time ago.

Right now, we have a billionaire who owns 49.9% of the club and wants to take us forward, I personally can't see this happening if the likes of Kenwright and Elstone keep adopting the "plucky little Everton" tag from the days where we worked on a shoestring.

5.) 06 Jun 2017 16:45:04
I'm with you on that one big d, some posters on here have short memories, I go back to the 60s blimey that's a long time ago, Ander should have seen what we had to put up, with some of them in charge yuk, GuernseyBlue.

6.) 07 Jun 2017 20:49:29
I'm only 21 BigDunc, so I get that I might not have seen the 'dark days' before he came along, and I fully appreciate what he's done for us, but I stand by the fact that that doesn't mean he knows how to run a club and take us forward.

My Nan's a lifelong, die hard fan and if she somehow came into millions 20 years ago I have no doubt she'd invest in the club, but it doesn't for a second means she'd be the right person to run it!

I'm all for there being a bit more loyalty in football, but I'm not about allowing sentimentality stand in the way of progress. Arsenal (and in a far more short term manner, Leicester) are both examples of how allowing the club to stagnate under someone's control because of something they did in the past is not the way to run a successful team.

Who's our main targets this summer and who do you think we will get.

Sophefc

{Ed025's Note - thats hard to tell at the moment soph as a lot will depend on the rom and ross situations, we have looked at defenders like keane and koulibaly but the price is a bit off putting, sigurdsson and tielemans have also been courted amongst others but its a bit early yet for the exact situations mate, hopefully ED002 will give us a podcast outlining the situation soon as he gets information before most..

Bit baffling as to why we ain't replaced Lukaku at all.

Sophefc

{Ed025's Note - we have been trying soph but with little success im afraid, koeman is well aware of this and we are very much trying to rectify the situation but it has to be the right guy..

26 May 2017 07:45:33
Who's r centre back targets and will jagielka Williams and funes Mori go.

Sophefc

{Ed025's Note - i dont think williams will go soph and i expect jags to become a bit part player or move on, our targets have included koulibaly and VVD but they will be very costly and are much sought after by CL teams so i dont hold out much hope there, keane of burnley and mcguire at hull are decent alternatives which we have looked at but who we will get is anyones guess at the moment mate..

1.) 26 May 2017 08:59:57
Hi eds wat about Martina from Southampton where does he play because the papers say we got him on a free. He never played much last year.

{Ed001's Note - he is a right back.}

2.) 26 May 2017 13:20:36
And not a very good one either Ed01. Reports suggest we are taking him on a free as cover for Coleman. I'm not very sure about him tbh free or not.

{Ed001's Note - a lot of Saints fans liked him, but I have never seen enough of him to judge him myself.}

3.) 26 May 2017 15:46:57
Koeman was manager of him so must see something in him he likes.

After yesterday surely a goalkeeper has to be bought in.

Sophefc

1.) 07 May 2017 17:17:05
Definitely Soph think Pickford will sign in the summer as he's a constant rumour to us did himself no harm yesterday with a brilliant performance against Hull.
Think a decent centre back as well if not 2.

22 Apr 2017 13:53:44
Any ideas of CB we will sign as I can't stand Williams and funes Mori at all.

Sophefc

1.) 22 Apr 2017 14:44:16
Both are better defenders than Stones imho. Think we could do worse than having them, and if we can get a top class, vocal keeper behind them that can organise then I think they'll be even better. Williams has been one of the most consistent CBs in the perm for years.

2.) 22 Apr 2017 19:38:14
I don't understand the posts on here knocking Williams at all? Last season we had one of the worst defences. We leaked goals like a sieve with big holes! This season we have won loads of games that we should not have. Mainly due to resolute defending. The only differences have been Holgate and Williams. Jags and Mori are the same. With respect to Holgate, he has not made the huge difference, but Williams has. Yes he is slow. Yes he is not the worlds greatest defender. But he has organised us throughout games to the point of seeing out games that last season we would have lost. He is a born organiser. We have conceded only 37 league goals with 4 games to go. Last season we conceded 55. When you consider we lost Coleman a few games ago, I think it is an achievement we are still grinding out results. Williams may not be the best, but he is better than what we were last season.

{Ed001's Note - isn't the main difference the manager rather than the players?}

3.) 22 Apr 2017 20:21:35
I am not sure Koeman can get his boots on any more Ed? Although he picks and signs the players. the point Sophefc was making was that she cannot stand Williams and Mori. I was responding to that comment specifically. Williams is themain reason we are conceding less goals. Yes Koeman signed and picks him, but Williams is the one different defender to last season and we have improved dramatically in such a short time span. I do acknowledge that Williams is not thelong term answer. But would point out Swansea's decline since he left themand our improvement since he joined us.

{Ed001's Note - nothing like what I meant. It is clearly nothing to do with Williams, who has been terrible on numerous occasions for you. It is all about Koeman's tactics, which have been shown to be solid at Southampton and prior to that too. Koeman ensures the team is well drilled and the midfield protect the back line well, most of the time, so even off games for Williams (or whoever is there) very rarely costs you much in the way of points.}

4.) 22 Apr 2017 19:57:03
Rk is the main reason our defence is tighter. Williams been good but not be all and end all.

I am willing to support manager over the summer and will get behind whoever he signs come September 1st and I do believe we will make further progress next season as his ideas and beliefs bed in even more.
