Hi Ed's hope you are all well. Sorry if it has already been asked but are we showing any genuine interest in Lingard?

SydneyBlue

{Ed002's Note - Jesse Lingard (AM) West Ham want loan to permanent but Rafa Benitez is keen on taking him to Everton. Manchester United will cash in if they get a decent offer. The issue now would be that we are right at the end of the transfer window and the moves may switch to finding homes for players available. So maybe other options will become more achievable for West Ham - perhaps Ross Barkley would be a cheap option for either side.}

1.) 30 Aug 2021 12:21:45
Great info wants again Ed002, thanks mate.

2.) 30 Aug 2021 14:34:29
Is this instead of diaz Ed?

{Ed002's Note - This is not new interest.}

Hi all,

It's been a long time since I've been on but just wanted to pass on what I've just heard, apparently Alvaro Morata is being looked at and is quite a possibility the fee is approximately €25mil. Don't shoot the messenger guys as usual just passing on my info.

SydneyBlue.

SydneyBlue

{Ed002's Note - Morato is not an option for Everton and his fee is a very long way from €25M.

1.) 05 Jul 2016 10:36:20
I was going to say, he's worth double that.

2.) 05 Jul 2016 11:56:30
Juve had an agreement with Real, to buy him for €30million (approx 25) everyone else pays full.

01 Sep 2014 16:37:08
Just been told David Henen has broke his contract and is set to walk away from Anderlecht. For Olympiakos?
Not sure guys but will be disappointing if we don't get him after the whole saga.

SydneyBlue

1.) 01 Sep 2014 16:49:39
Oh come on, nothing would be more everton than that

2.) Haha does seem the Everton thing to do Swan mate

Been really busy lately guys but have to take time out to join in the action of Deadline day. Ed's I don't envy you fella's today but I'm sure you will do a fantastic job as always.

Just a quick input while I'm here. Hearing Nastasic is a strong possibility and also that Shane Duffy has signed for Blackburn in what could be part of a deal to bring in the further attacking option of Jordan Rhodes.

Enjoy the day everyone, much love.

SydneyBlue

{Ed025's Note - nice to hear from you syd..

1.) Always a pleasure mate :)

2.) 01 Sep 2014 12:36:14
as you are in OZ, and 12 hours ahead, can you tell us who we have signed, lol

{Ed025's Note - i like that dixie..

3.) Haha I love it Dixie!

30 May 2014 16:50:29
Not Everton related but I saw somebody post about David Villa going to New York City and mentioned they would like him to join the blues and was shot down as if it was impossible. Well there's a rumour circulating over in Aus and it has been reported on fox sports that he is looking likely to do a 10 game guest stink for Melbourne Heart in the A League. I'm not saying we should've tried to sign him but I guess my point is anything is possible.

SydneyBlue

1.) Thank you SB! I was purely stating I think he would be a great addition to the squad, if Bobby was interested I don't see why it wouldn't happen!

2.) Australia, beautiful country, warm relaxed loads of wages at Melbourne. Liverpool England freezing, snow sleet frost not the nicest city and 50k a week with heavy taxes. That's what I think anyway

3.) No problems mate, everybody is entitled to their opinion but far too often on here people react far too negatively to posts and it's ridiculous. It is a rumours and banter page. I don't always agree with what people post but I keep it to myself and I definitely don't try to belittle people, especially when your post was clearly something that could've been a possibility.

{Ed025's Note - im with you SB..

4.) 30 May 2014 18:55:50
Of course anything is possible, except I can't bend space and time at this very moment so not everything is possible, i'm sure roberto would be interested in bringing messi to goodison, doesn't mean it will happen, would I have villa? Course, would it happen? No chance

5.) Paddo they say Melbourne weather is very much like England and having lived in both cities I'd honestly prefer Liverpool, Sydney on the other hand is gods country haha. As for the wages I can guarantee he will be getting paid a lot less than 50k.

6.) Swan I think you've missed the point if Melbourne Heart can pull off a deal like this then there is more than a chance we could and I think if we tried we would be quite appealing, European football, exciting football, young positive Spanish manager. I know given the chance I'd definitely be considering it.

7.) Thank Ed025 good to see someone else is tired of the negativity.

8.) Hey Sydney, I'm not knocking anyone mate but sometimes our fans (not all) need to remember where we are at. We're not a massive lure for our identity, we don't offer a warm sunny climate, we don 't pay massive wages and we don't compete for the league season in season out . All these added up mean we struggle to attract a certain calibre of player. Some fans (not you mate) don't seem to be able tograsp this and slate the club when we don't get those names or have far too high an opinion of ourselves ( high unrealistic opinion and blind optimism are different to one another) but we have both of those types in our support. Some look down their noses at players we would be doing well to sign and others really believe Rooney is signing next season and Mr Whippy the icecream man is paying part of his wages because he's a blue yano lid! All's I'm saying is we need to realise where we are in the grand scheme of things and exactly what, as a club AND as an area/country to live in we have to offer. When you do the math it's not a huge amount unfortunately, I wish it was but it isn't. It's not rubbish either by any stretch of the imagination but we have our limitations and if people realised them they wouldn't get so frustrated or annoyed when they don't come to fruition as they were never realistic to start with. Anyway I'm rambling now so I'll shut up. I've probably repeated myself a lot in this post so apologies in advance. It's been a very long day. Goodnight friend x

9.) 30 May 2014 20:54:22
Hes a big name syd, he would have tons of offers, melbourbe will be paying him quite a lot, like del piero at sydney fc, if not, he will have offers from all over the world and I doubt, in fact, I know he wouldn't consider everton, doesn't matter what we do, we are not appealing enough to a player like that, players like him who have won it all don't go anywhere for the challenge, they go for the last big paycheck

10.) I understand completely what your saying fellas we definitely have a lot of fans that do get a bit carried away it may be the fact that they are younger or just down right delusional but that's their opinion, I just generally laugh and ignore. Also I can agree that we may not look all that appealing to 'big named' players but I also believe credit should be given where it is due. I think we still look quite appealing if those whole picture is taken into consideration, unfortunately I think we get overlooked due to our financial restraints. Like I said in my earlier post I'm not saying Villa should come to us and end of the day we are all entitled to a big final pay day but that doesn't explain the Melbourne deal because I know for a fact there's not a lot of money to be thrown around and Swan Del Piero was getting paid approx $70,000 which is approx 38,000 pound so it's a lot less than any team in England could afford. Anyway fellas I'm not having a go at anybody I'm just stating my opinion. Both of you take care and keep the entertaining posts coming.

Tim ;)

11.) Tim, Sydney, are you timmy Cahill?

12.) I doubt it he was watching the soceroos match in a corporate suite the other day and Cahill was playing. Unless .

13.) Thanks for. correcting me paddock maybe I should have read the whole post and not just bits of it.

14.) Anything is possible :)

15.) Don 't be daft, Steph. We're all guilty of that matey. I wasn't correcting you either just throwing my tuppence worth in. Sydney it would be fantastic if u were Cahill

I'm interested to see what Rafa says about team selection in his pre match press conference. When do they normally talk to the press? thought we would've heard something by now.

SydneyBlue

1.) 12 Aug 2021 13:48:54
Think he will play 5-4-1. Go for 0-0 😂.

2.) 12 Aug 2021 16:38:14
Totally agree but if we are just going to get a mediocre one what's the point Kenny is there and godfrey can play there and yeah agree about Coleman but he can still play.

09 Aug 2021 10:55:35
Sorry if this has already been asked but does anyone know what is happening with the player involved in the Police investigation? Are the club still paying his wage? If he is found guilty will the club be compensated or is there an insurance policy in place for situations like this?

SydneyBlue

{Ed025's Note - its all up in the air at the moment sydney, until charges have been made its all conjecture mate so we will have to be patient..

1.) 09 Aug 2021 11:16:03
Thanks Ed025, this is something that could only happen to Everton at the same time we have no wiggle room with FFP isn’t it. We are truly cursed!

{Ed025's Note - it certainly seems that way sydney mate..

05 Jul 2021 10:13:21
Eds, do any of you know if James has returned to finch farm? I read he was due back.

SydneyBlue

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea.}

1.) 05 Jul 2021 10:38:22
Thanks Ed002.

2.) 05 Jul 2021 10:46:53
Just seen a pic of James arriving.

3.) 05 Jul 2021 12:12:52
Bodes well that he’s turned up. Plenty of players that want away in the past have not done so and then pushed for a move. I know opinions differ - I’d love to keep him in that no.10 role, sell Siggy, and buy a young upcoming AMC that can share that role with James.

4.) 05 Jul 2021 12:38:05
Why so many negative posts about James returning to training by Evertonians? Too many fans saying hel’ll probably have x, y, z excuses to miss it. And turns out he is at training, same thing happened with his private jet picture. Slated for jetting off to play for Colombia when we were struggling. Turned out he was injured and didn’t play at Copa America. Think some fans need to cut back on believing their social media rumours as 95% of what you read online is fabricated, exaggerated or just not true.

5.) 05 Jul 2021 12:39:11
I agree. Sigurdsson should be one of the first out the door. Laziest player in the Premier League. Even when he pretends to put the effort in he's still too lazy, won't attempt a tackle, or move a couple of yards for the ball and just points telling everyone to pass it to someone else. Absolute waste of space who we should never have pursued in the first place.

6.) 05 Jul 2021 15:45:41
Hopefully Siggy heads to Saudi this summer.

7.) 05 Jul 2021 18:53:37
He did get most assists and 3rd highest scorer last year and his record has been pretty good since being with us.

1st season 2nd in assists, 2nd sea 1st in assists, 3rd season was his worst and was 5th, last season only DCL contributed to more goals.

Hes a no10 at heart and isn't a player to go running around chasing but where you want him to do it, to be fair he does more than most in our team. He goes we need to replace 18 to 20 goals a season. That's an expensive replacement.

8.) 06 Jul 2021 08:23:59
James arriving! How big is the runway at Finch? Must admit, I have never noticed one.

9.) 06 Jul 2021 08:38:49
BJU. If you takes sigs pens away he loses most of his goals. Yeah he gets assists, but like I've said in posts before he should, that's his position. If we had a rubbish striker, would you say he was good because he scored more goals than other players?

10.) 06 Jul 2021 13:57:34
If you're saying he should get assists in that position and he does, then is he not doing what he should be doing in that position.

So what is it he should be doing more of, for him to be good?

Of his 67 EPL goals 12 have come from penalties. Personally, I feel he should score more also from open play and in general. However, he still contributed to 18 goals in total last year (8 goals, 4 via penalty, 10 assists) and if he goes we still have to replace that. As I said that won't be cheap, not that we shouldn't.

Don't get me wrong, I would like someone more mobile on the pitch because no one really plays with players of his type that much anymore but he is a very good no10, or player just behind the strikers. I'm not sure anyone understands that role anymore as the game has moved on.

He isn't a good no8 or no6 or defensive midfielder and he's not box to box, however you want to put it. But then he has never claimed to be or been that at other clubs. We've just played him out of position.

People say he is lazy. Well if you look at other players who do his actual role, they don't go running around closing down space in their own half. His actual contribution towards chances created, assists and goals is good. His tackling and man marking skills not so good. I accept that and don't blame him for not being the player I would like him to be.

09 Aug 2019 12:05:32
I am more than happy with the business we did throughout the transfer window. I think Iwobi could turn out to be a great acquisition. He is still young and will develop, I know everyone wanted Zaha, the question is did we want Zaha or did we just want a "marquee" signing? Someone to rub in to other supporters? Would he really fit? No doubting his quality but he isn't a player that plays to a structure, he likes to have free roam on the pitch and I don't see him fitting into what we want to build. I think the club have done really well to bring in the players we have and I am still feeling very optimistic.

I would also like to take some time to thank all the Eds for dedicating their time once again to keep us with all the mayhem that is deadline day. Great job again fella's, much appreciated.

SydneyBlue

{Ed002's Note - Thanks.}

Hi Eds,

Long time since I've posted. Hope all the old school posters have been well. What a transfer window this is turning out to be. Optimism is at an all time high but trying to keep my feet on the ground.

Ed002 I have a question for you, you are clearly very knowledgeable and always have fantastic insight. What are your thoughts around Zaha? Is there a genuine push to sign him or is most of it paper talk? Are any of the sources that a stating we are back in for him?

SydneyBlue

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in Zaha - but the price is high and he wants to move elsewhere.}

1.) 06 Aug 2019 10:40:40
I know Zaha at his best would improve our team hugely, but am I the only one who doesn't want us to spend our money for the next few years on a player who wants to play for another team, struggled every time he has been outside London and has no resale value?

I would much rather us to sign a CB, a better value RW and be financially viable and sensible than bust it all on an excellent, but inconsistent winger.

{Ed025's Note - im with you TIH..

2.) 06 Aug 2019 10:34:39
Thanks Ed. I would imagine he would be hoping to move to a club that will be playing European football this season.

3.) 06 Aug 2019 10:57:19
I agree TIH. If the move does happen I see it as the club going all out to chase some silverware this season whilst also hoping there is a team that can be successful for a few seasons with only minor tweaks. Great in theory but we have all seen before too many fresh faces all in at once can backfire if the team doesn’t gel, scary thought if that means funds are not readily available to try to amend the situation.

Ed025, how are you my old mate? Still putting in the hard yards.

{Ed025's Note - very much so sydney and very excited at he direction the club is heading mate, this could be a very exciting time for us and i cant wait for the season to start, hope you and your family are well mate and its great to hear from you..

4.) 06 Aug 2019 11:54:19
Hopefully we will bring in RB cover and CB cover either on permanent deals or loans I can't see the Zaha transfer being completed in time and to be honest. I would rather Brand spend his time sorting out the defensive cover.

5.) 06 Aug 2019 11:58:41
He’s a top premier league player, you will be inconsistent in a team that finishes bottom half, only players that were consistent was Liverpool and Man City players. I’m not going to get upset if we don’t sign him but he will make our side much better, can’t believe some fans who don’t want him.

6.) 06 Aug 2019 11:59:46
It’s hard to not be excited isn’t Ed although this team of our insists on breaking our hearts. All is well on my end mate. Hope you and yours are doing well also. Do you still have any of the old posters like Degsy, Moody and Svenny hanging around mate?

{Ed025's Note - some great posters there sydney but alas its been a while since we heard from them, maybe with the direction we are going in we might hear from them as its a terrific time to be a blue mate..

7.) 06 Aug 2019 12:16:55
No better time for them to stop back in Ed that’s for sure. It’s been a chaotic few years for me mate but looking forward to settling down and getting some normality back in my life so I will be checking in regularly and enjoying the ride!

{Ed025's Note - thats great to hear mate..

8.) 06 Aug 2019 22:32:01
By the time Arsenal can afford Zaha we will be above them anyway Sydney.

We need someone with experience, who knows the club and can work with a rubbish squad. Only one man if we can pry him away from West Ham. I will probably get slaughtered for saying it but is Moyes not a logical decision now?

SydneyBlue

{Ed0666's Note - Why would he come for a relegation battle when he’s challenging for a champions league position. lives in London and has a better caliber of player to choose from when it comes to transfers

In recent seasons we have been in similar positions with a lot less time to rectify it. As angry as I am I think we will stay up as there are 3 teams that are worse than us. I hope this lights a fire under the players and they continue playing for the badge as they have in recent weeks.
