Ed
Do you know how often the EFC Main Board meet or if an Emergency MB has been called? I ask as this may indicate if a change in ownership will be voted for. Short of contacting stockbrokers who have the skill and knowledge of EPL clubs, news of sustainable confirmation of change of ownership is just dust in the wind.

Torontotoffeeman

{Ed025's Note - im sorry i dont TT, but as you say the board will have to meet and inform shareholders mate..

EPL to be paid TV rights of GBP5.1B for the next tranche. Surpassing the pre meet figure of GBP4.1B and dwarfing the current GBP3B deal. What does this mean for my beloved EFC? Well if I was a director I wouldn't want to sell for anything as the funds roll-in. Of course, some guys already talking about the Gbp300m player purchase and I guess it's not far off. How long can football for the fan exist?

Eto on his way?

Torontotoffeeman

1.) Ha not a chance

2.) Nope, but he's considering a deal with Ajax :)

3.) Wouldn't surprise me

{Ed025's Note - would really surprise me!..

4.) Surprised how they can meet him with his salary. perhaps the lad likes a spliff once in a while?

5.) No chance of Eto'o. 1. We cannot afford his wages - neither could Liverpool, and 2. Booby wouldn't have him because he would be a disruptive influence in the changing room. So forget that rumour.

Lukaku's agent confirms meeting with Levy has alreday taken place and the potential of a GBP25m move and substantial increase to the current GBP40k per week wages. Is this games? I cannot imagine a greater need for RM to have his strkers fully focused on winning every one of the remaning game and not to be distracted by the other clubs openly discussing other teams players. Of course, if the CL dreams becomes reality what will LuKaku want then? Perhaps just shows that respect and dignity, that is EFC, is simply a matter of either you have it or you dont.

Torontotoffeeman

{Ed025's Note - your right TTM, mind you, decency and daniel levy are two things it is hard to associate..a plastic chairman of a soulless club who reside at the mausoleum that is white hart lane..

1.) 03 Apr 2014 11:52:52
I don't think he would go there TT, firstly they won't get in the Champs league, secondly I don't think they will have the money due to overspending on crap in the summer last year, they would have to ship out most of the 110 million they spent and who will pay the prices Levy would be asking, they would have to take a serious hit and as we all know love him or hate him Daniel Levy does not lose money.

If we do not get 4th then Lukaku will undoubdtedly be off to another club that is in the champs league as there will be a few that would want they lad.

2.) This is pure desperation from the spuds and the way I see a underhand tactic to disrupt our team in the final few games, this is where more than ever we can show our guts and talent and have that 4th spot. I hope they do land him and his goals dry up sucked up by the moral vacum that is Tottenham Hotspur! Do I sound bitter and twisted lol.

{Ed025's Note - you sound logical to me mate.. :)

3.) 03 Apr 2014 12:33:13
Great call that Lancer, sounds plausible mate

4.) Just had a read of the original article in Het Nieuwsblad which states clearly that Everton are in prime position to sign Lukaku, largley due to his desire to stay at the club. However Suprs are also lurking. They cite the oh-so-reliable Daily Mail as being the source of the £20 million being touted

They then raise the perfectly reasonable question of, should Chelsea demand £20 million, would we be able to pay? Possibly not, and Spurs DO have more money than us.

I think there's a lot of bad journalism here, putting together scraps to make a story.

Lukaku himself has repeatedly talked about how happy he is at Everton and has also talked about his desire to play CL football and I think we can all agree that's likelier to happen with us than it is at Spurs.

I say ignore all the pap spouted by dodgy journos and god-awful chairmen and just get behind the team for what could be the best end-of-season run-in in years.

COYB!

Love these Guys - DeNiro and Stallone predict a massive 17-0 win against Norwich. Dreaming of that! COYB

Love Rocky, a true legend, always remember this snippet when he came to grace us with his presence

Sylvester Stallone clearly wants the world to know he's an Everton supporter.
The 60-year-old actor was wearing the football club's scarf proudly last Saturday - when he attended an Everton game.
But it seems the Rocky star hasn't taken the scarf off since - even yesterday, when he was shopping in Paris for women's shoes.
He was still showing off the scarf as he returned to the Dorchester Hotel last night. Stallone is in London for the premiere of his new movie Rocky Balboa tonight, and we wonder what he'll be wearing on the red carpet - the scarf or the shoes?

Once you have been touched

Tell me the logic behind selling Jelavic but buying and keeping Kone? What a waste of £5m

How many feel like me? I saw the game yesterday and I was ashamed. Normally a loss is a loss and I get on with it. So as ever, its a new day, the sun is climbing and the sky is blue. Much to enjoy. Yet, I feel the need for some positivity and frankly none is to be had. Not a morsel. So here's my rant. RM OUT. Short and sweet. He's missed the milestones for EFC excellence and thus now deserves to be quietly applauded for past deeds as he enjoys his life elsewhere. I would be happy to hold the door open for him, shake by the hand and bid him well. Then we rebuild with belief and certainty with a certain Dutchman instilling fire, belief, honesty, graft and yes, skill. COME ON YA BLUES!

Next manager for me is someone who has the making of a winner, played for a top winning team and knows what it is like to win. Just look at Markus Weinzierl of Augsburg of the German League. Tough team playing neat football, from nearly drop-heads 3 seasons ago now heading to Europe. Attracting the agents and top players Ex Bayern professional player so he knows the score. Did that on a 20million Euro budget too.

Without any doubt against statistical evidence and expert opinion, Everton's home form is the pits. Arguments raised to identify the cause, include:-
1. The old lady is rocked to her foundations about being made redundant.
2. RM is a fish out of water
3. Everton's fans expect too much and make for a toxic atmosphere when the slightest thing goes wrong.
4. Everton's players are able to concentrate on one thing at a time - err' the "cup" apparently.
5. It's an internal players bet that once 40 points is achieved the season is done. We're nearly there so an away win will do.

So let me into the secret as I don't want to hex any more home games thinking we will win!

On the rise to a better future, there will be times of immense disappointment. Today against West Brom is one of these occasions. The players will simply have to learn and accept that teams above and below us are either flying or surviving to have their cut of the multi billion fortune next season, whereas the football supporter that is within me hates the fact that we lost at home again. Dominate possession, hit the woodwork, control the play are factors for looking forward to the next match. Is it then, the fact that West Brom is just a bogey side for us and it's all a matter of fate? Still 5 points off the top 6. We should not be sittng here!

Reading the FA file on agents fees yesterday, I suppose you can understand Bill's reluctance to let RM go. According to the FA, EFC spent GB471K last year on agents - whereas top spender MU flashed GB10M. So once again, we are bottom. Curiously, am I looking at a connection at something? Are top players really pushed out way at all? Anyways, why would Bill be motivated to change a spendthrift? Net GB50M over a season or two is pocket money in the fat cow that is the EPL.

Which if true, the right boot is on order. The guy has played how many minutes for us? Man, enough.

Oooooh I hope so. RM said that new players will arrive after their WC ended. EFC are back at training already, so its going to be 2 to 3 weeks before any new ex WC player could join if they exited during the QF/SF. I want EFC to purr from the start just like my Super Charged 5.0L sports car and not to have an oil leak at the start of the season.

Yeap, saw the new signing on TV here. Caught the commentators out I can tell you! Walked on the pitch looking a bit nervous. Nice touch later speaking to one or two of the younger members of the goodison faithful

I am from a very long line of Evertonians and my children and their children carry on that passion. So what moves us now to talk about something we never thought possible? We want a winning habit made from a knowledgeable manager (the what to, why to)aligned to the skill (how to)and Desire (want to). The habit is the seamless unity of the 3 elements of knowledge, skill and desire. We don't see that "habit" at present. Chasing after Evans, Cleverly and the other press offerings simply tells us that there is no desire being shown by EFC. Do we lack the skill to purchase players or have a gap in knowledge to enter a buying market that is the summer recess? No! But desire is thin on the ground and without that we will never have a winning habit. Purchase these players and I assure you the thin end of the wedge is being offered for next season.

{Ed025's Note - your making me cry now TT..

I am hoping that this is the thin end of the wedge and just one of many false summertime banter lines. Alternatively this is true in which case, I will want to have a word with Bill and ask him what the hell is going on. Such a backwards move. We need winners who will transfer their knowledge to our younger guys to fire their enthusiasm for a tilt at the top 4, not mid table mediocrity.

Torontotoffeeman

{Ed025's Note - your right TT, what a backwards step that would be!..im praying that its just speculation mate..

Yes, I can put you at ease SC. Martinez is running out of excuses playing poor playing individuals plus whatever his system is needs overhauling. RM will need to understand this now. He will need to go back to basics. With this, EFC will start pumping into the team they were last year. We have a choice. The other relegation candidates do not.
