NEW STADIUM.

I saw it in a small article in the Mail on
Sunday and says

"Everton hope to announce a breakthrough over a new 50,000 capacity stadium this week.
The club believes that Goodison Park
their home since 1892 can no longer generate sufficient revenue from a maximum capacity of 39, 600.
Everton want to move to nearby Walton Hall Park and have been talking to the local council"

This could be it boys.
The Park is just under a mile away from the"Old Lady" and still within
the city boundary.
It is huge and backs onto the main dual-carriageway A580 East Lancs Road.

hope this helps,

1.) Don't let's get carried away with this announcement. Finding a site is only the first step. The hard work starts now for those involved behind the scenes.
Getting the funding in place is going to be a monumental task.
We have to find the right partners and investors to fulfil our ambitions to trade alongside the best in Europe. On top of that we have to convince local residents that the development would be just as much in their interests as Evertons.
More housing, better leisure facilities, and local shops as well as a park. Yes, a reduced park, but nevertheless a park that a further 1000 employed people can enjoy.
I'd personally like to find a brown field site and leave parks alone, but, if this is the way we're going then let's make the most of it and get behind the CEO an chairman and wish them Godspeed in their negotiations.

{Ed025's Note - amen to that mike..

2.) I was at mk dons stadium today. Puts goodison to shame. Great stadium. Way to good for a league 1 side but shows what can be done with the right backing. Great view from every padded seat. A real gem.

Really hope we finally move forward with this stadium saga.

If you're not a season ticket holder you're generally stuck with an obstructed view.

I've heard loads about how good MK Dons stadium is. Remember this, it's not a footy stadium, nor is it a lower league stadium.
It's the hockey federations national stadium.
MK Dons neither own it nor had it built. A bit like Man City when they first moved.
