Landon Donovan will not be returning on loan during the winter transfer window. L.A. manager Bruce Arenas said today the galaxy will not allow their players to go on loan during their offseason.

Ed's do you know if there have been any enquiries about Johnny? He's made it pretty clear he has no invention of resigning. I'd love to use the sale money with our leftover cash to buy Diame and Honda. It would also make room for Duffy to get in the squad. {Ed025's Note - nothing yet christian..

1.) Would any of you be overly disappointed if Heitinga left the club?
For me personally, I'd say probably no - just put any incoming transfer fee to good use.
More contentiously, would any of you be overly disappointed if Duffy left the club?
For me personally, probably yes, as he's still developing as a potential first-team player. IMHO, young centre-backs take longer than other outfield players to progress into regular first-team players and I think that Duffy still needs a little more time to do so.

After today's showing, it is painfully obvious we need a quality replacement for ross. I know this is probably unrealistic, but I would love to try to sign Isco on loan. It looks like his opportunities will be limited because of the singing of James Rodrigues. He is the type of player we need to reach the champions league. Any thoughts?

christian

1.) So far from realistic it's unreal

Once again, David Moyes is just thankful to get out of Old Trafford alive.

Very pleased with the squad selection prior to the game. I am glad to see Gibson getting worked back into the rotation, as well as Dell boy getting a run. Even though it's largely a reserve team, it's still a pretty strong side. Hopefully we can get the win in regulation and stay injury free. COYB

I saw that the mancs are preparing to bid 40M for Baines and Felli. I for one would like to counter the two for 15m + Rooney. Use the money to buy Honda for 5M, Diame for 3. 5 M, and a replacement LB around 7-8M. Assuming Martinez plays a 3-4-3 a starting line up of Howard GK, Coleman RB, Jags/Distin/Alcaraz CB, new Lb/ Oviedo, Gibson/Diame cdm, Pineaar Lm, Osman Rm, Honda/Barkley CAM, Geroulu (sp?) LW, Rooney/ Kone/ Big Vic ST, and Mirallas at RW would give us a great chance of achieving Champions League Football. I know it's a bit of wishful thinking, but what do you think ED's? {Ed025's Note - i want to keep our best players christian, but sometimes s*** happens mate..

1.) We will not sign Rooney, not in a million years! His wages are too much for us. Even if we offered him 100k a week he would still be 150k a week down. Nike won't pay his wages they're not that stupid. I wish to god people would stop going on about him. Anyone who actually believes he will come is seriously deluded or doesn't understand a thing about football

2.) Paddock its pretty widely known that Rooney wants to return one day. that's not us wanting that, but him wanting that. He might not be back anytime soon but at some point before he's 32 I believe we will have an opportunity to sign him. Whether we wish to waste money on the over weight, hasbeen oaf is another matter. Your just lucky it won't happen until well in the future, so people will forget to ram your ridiculous delusional and football understanding comment back down your hatch.

3.) If you had half an ounce of common sens you would rrealise I was talking about the here and now not the future. He may well come back in 5 years time when he is even more washed out, that's if we're daft enough to sign him but he will not come this transfer window orr next his wages are too big for us and that's a fact.

4.) To paddock Rooneys wages could be achieved very easily and still make money. any sponsor will pay more money if there product is being given major coverage. rooney is wanted by psg chelsea and aresenal, not just for footballing matters, but for off field matters, he's still the biggest draw out of the English players. to say his wages are too high is stupid,. u imagine the interest not just domestically but globally any Rooney deal will generate. football in England is sold worldwide bringing major money into EPL. rooney to everton is probably a dream but to base it on his wages, would be down to inept and a board who frankly are not putting the work in. you put rooney in an everton Chang shirt u imagine there marketing men. u imagine the frenzy of our fans, merchandising,. football is major business, u need an icon, a face that sells your club. he's a cash cow, his wages are 12 million a year. anyone who thinks we would generate 20 million a year out of rooney is so small minded and out of touch with the business world of marketing

5.) So we should pay him 200k plus a week then? What affect do you think it would have on the likes of felliani and baines. We have a wage cap for a reason and smashing that to get Rooney is ridiculous. It would be a disater. We cannot afford him and its as simple as that. Sad but true

6.) Rooney to return, but not for the foreseeable. Paddock is right, at this moment in time, we could not afford him. Ofcourse it's possible, but with our current board, we should park this thought for now.

Why does it matter who hurt him? I'm sure there was no malice in the challenge. It's extremely unfortunate, but these things happen in football.

I believe it is very likely we have 30 mil to spend next year. The above posters math seems very accurate, but they forgot about the TV money for the past year. If we do have 30 mil to spend, I would love to see us buy:

Martins Indi- 5-7M
Batshuayi 8-10M
Barry- Free
And a couple of loans (Hopefully del boy and another striker)

Save the remaining money to be able to strengthen problem areas next January.

I would be shocked if Villa sell Benteke for anything less than £25M
