Old roomie livin in amsterdam tells me quiet rumours starting over there about someone called fisher. Says he a winger but never heard of him

colonel popadom

1.) 20 Jul 2014 16:17:57
Viktor fischer, best youth player out of ajax in a long time, wait there isba rumour we are after him? Or a rumour he actually exists?

2.) Viktor Fischer I presume. supposed to be a quality youngster from Ajax

3.) 20 Jul 2014 16:22:40
Probably Viktor Fischer highly rated one of those players on football manager (like Lucas Ocampos) that becomes a world beater - if he does come expect it to be a loan maybe with a view to a permanent deal

4.) 20 Jul 2014 17:16:37
Viktor Fischer; Brilliant young player, but I'm sure that if he's available and in our price range, a bigger team will beat us to him.

5.) Hmmm - any chance he might have been enjoying some Amsterdam "specialities" before making that comment?

6.) Do you mean Fischer?

7.) 20 Jul 2014 18:18:07
Viktor Fischer plays as a left winger for Ajax and Denmark. 17 goals in 43. would cost around 13 mil. the likes utd have been linked past. still only 20

8.) Viktor Fischer boss little player!

Ed, I know it doesn't make sense for any club to publish how much they have to spend but any idea on budget for this summer as reports range from just 10mill to 30ish. With what RM did last season and with Europe looming, I'd be hoping at least 30 was available, esp with the type of players we need (2 cf's at least), not usually coming cheap.

colonel popadom

{Ed025's Note - im expecting 30m plus CP..

21 May 2014 10:04:29
Ed, what ya reckon to these two jacks we keep getting mentioned with-colback and rodwell? Not even sure we could afford the latter back but didn't rate before the move tbh-all potential. Colback could be interesting back up but surely we should be looking at 1st team quality before back up?

colonel popadom

{Ed025's Note - both very average for me CP, colback on a free seems the better option, but I would not expect either to first team regulars mate..

1.) 21 May 2014 12:31:48
Colbacks a tenacious and reliable kid who still has his best years ahead of him, rodwell, well, hopefully he will follow our dan to bournemouth

2.) I'd take Colback on a free in a heart beat I think he would fit in fantastically here and I'll admit I'd be a bit excited if he came. Rodwell? No thanks never fit and not what we're looking for we can't afford players who won't be able to pull their weight

3.) As far as jack rodwell is concerned. he is 23. ask yourself what ross barkley will be like in 3 years time. I guess world class.the rodwell ship has sailed.

4.) Best bit of business we done that. Thinking about it we've shafted City and United for a right few quid haven't we. Rodwell, Lescott and Felliani over 50 million 2 been released and one been found out to not be as good as he thought he would (smirks)

5.) 21 May 2014 22:53:31
Colback would be a great acquisition . looks good enough on the ball to play centre mid and has the pace and tenacity for fullback. Perhaps a squad player to start with . but Jagielka was signed as a midfielder/right back and look what's happened . regular England centre half and captain.

Not too gutted about gerra del as bit too selfish and little end product - bit like wright-phillips, but how about going in for redmond. May wanna move from Norwich and could probably get for 6mill. Cf still big concern unless robbie pulls off another loan coup. One question for ed-who do you think we'll get rid of, if anyone?

colonel popadom

{Ed025's Note - none of the main players CP, maybe one or two on the fringes though..

1.) Bacca name mentioned today again

2.) 20 May 2014 17:03:09
Vellios, springthorpe, gueye and duffy will all leave permanently (duffy has a slim chance of a loan) and there have been mentions of loans for joel, garbutt, duffy and there is a chance pienaar will leave (fingers crossed)

3.) I know what you're saying about Pienaar I've been thinking his times up for a while but with us being thin on the ground and a much heavier fixture list coming this season I would keep him as a squad player for one last season at least he has the experienced head, would come in useful somewhere along the line imo

4.) 20 May 2014 18:51:45
I do like him mate but he is homesick, slow, weak, messes about too much and is always on the floor, he is clever yes but has been poor for 2 seasons now, i'd rather sell him and bring in another winger IMO

5.) I can't argue with anything you've said mate I've said the same last season and a half he frustrates the life out of me, great player for us and I can forgive him his Tottenham fiasco because of it. His link up play with Baines was phenominal probably the best in the league at one point but it seems to have petered out. If as you say he his homesick then it probably is for the best but if he wants to give it one last season and go out on a high I would take a punt on him least of all for the wealth of experience he brings but as you point out there are most definitely two sides to the coin with him.

6.) He has been a great servant to the club, let's not forget that. If he goes then he does so with my best wishes.I think he has been one of our most creative players over recent years. And whilst he is admittedly slowing up, as Evertonians we shouldn't be too quick to focus on that right now. Let him go home, but under a guard of honor

Lads looked shattered and devoid of energy against Brom. Little worried about our midfield, esp with Barry, Leon not having the legs any longer and Barkley out. Do we see any reinforcements in the central area possibly coming in?

colonel popadom

1.) We did look little jaded but pitch did not help at west brom. Robby has said no more signings but I would not rule out last minute move. We do need a defensive midfielder as back up

2.) Defensive midfielder? Need a attacking midfielder, got enough defensive ones already.

Looks like eto is a go then. Looks like a bit of a no lose situation except if the rumours are true and he'll be on 90k pw as may upset our wage structure a bit. Overall quite happy with summer although would like see top cb joining too. can't wait for besic to get a run out either!

anyone wonder why a move for zaha hasn't been rumoured, even by the anyone to anywhere garbage reported by some of the tabs? not mentioned much at Trafford centre and must be worth at least a loan?

colonel popadom

1.) We're probably not interested in him because:
1) Maybe RM believes he's no better than players we already have; and/or
2) There are better deals to be had for players that play his position if we want to recruit someone; and/or
3) Perhaps he's considered not the sort of character to fit into our squad; and
4) that's enough reasons, surely?

{Ed025's Note - i would say so sid..

19 Jul 2014 10:43:10
With rm stating on our website that he wants 1 mid and 3 attackers, I can't see us going after cleverley as many better options. This besic looks like a beast, so hopefully it's going to be tied up soon and we can then move onto the forwards. This lukaku talk is sounds really promising but no idea of the other targets. Just hope we can hang on to what we've already got!

Must say well happy with getting Barry deal doen soon as and that the thought of signing this Besic and Caulker excites me a lot although scoring goals next season is a little concern. Surely we're priced out of Lukaku and Bony, so any idea of any striking targets? Never rated Cerci and never seen him as lone striker. Any update on Kone fitness too as would be like a new signing?

With Derby not going up, perhaps we could have another look at Will Hughes? Seems very composed in possession (little similar to Barry), and type of RM player. What say you? Also, am I alone in not being that keen on the Townsend talk? Always seems to have a bit of a chip on his shoulder.

1.) 24 May 2014 23:00:51
Not for me mate, has no right foot, weak, clumsy, poor first touch and cannot beat a man unless he is playing a poor championship side, massively overrated

2.) Don't agree, Will Hughes is one of a number of English kids who with the right attitude and coaching can develop into a quality player. Would all depend on price, £6m plus a few add ons would be as high as I'd go.

3.) Agree with Swan seen him play a number of times last season, vastly over rated and is now not first eleven choice at Derby, wouldn't touch him.

Cerci overrated anyway plus how many Italians have come to the prem and not performed as expected? Rather spend 12mill on someone younger. IMWT
