Picture going around of a young gylfi standing next to the Dixie Dean statue in an Everton top . My gut tells me it's false but would love it to be true. Anyone else seen it?

cropper16

1.) 17 Aug 2017 05:06:34
it is true.

2.) 17 Aug 2017 06:06:19
I posted it to sightings.

3.) 17 Aug 2017 08:29:19
He even went on a tour with the youth team. Shame we didn't sign him up then.

4.) 17 Aug 2017 08:29:53
yea it's his brother who put it up. said he spent a week training with us when he was 12 and was a ballot at gpoodison.

5.) 17 Aug 2017 11:52:26
and a ball boy as well :) :)

6.) 17 Aug 2017 18:13:36
I for one understood the joke Dixie :-)

7.) 17 Aug 2017 18:24:55
Gpoodison must be what they used to call the queue for the toilets :)

Lots of reports saying that Rooney has withdrawn from Uniteds pre-season and will complete a deal by end of the week. Seen different types of deal but latest ones are pointing to a free. He was never going to rejoin us at the top of his game and I don't think he is an automatic starter, but no one can deny that he is bringing much more than on the pitch performances. Plus, I'm hugely looking forward too seeing the best player I have seen in blue pull on the colours again.

cropper16

1.) 04 Jul 2017 23:33:51
Rooney done deal by all accounts.

2.) 05 Jul 2017 01:16:16
Not sure if this is a good thing or not, time will tell I guess. Other question is "what position will he play? "

3.) 05 Jul 2017 01:40:20
i called this earlier on this was jose himself who blocked waynes return hoping we would pay 20 30 mill for him or they would sell him to china i guess but as many of you pointed out waynes not the type to uproot his whole family and. from when jose decided he no longer wanted him it was always going to happen. i hope he proves his critics wrong even if i can't see it myself, dare we dream of a whole new eleven i mean seriously walshy koeman and moshiri i have nowhere left to pinch please stop or move time forward so the season starts coyb.

4.) 05 Jul 2017 08:40:02
In answer to what position will he play. I think the No 10 role. Now a days he is best coming from behind the ball.

5.) 05 Jul 2017 15:16:43
some people need to take a step back with rooney, seen some awful comments on the web, from blues fans. reality is since the arrival of martial and then the emergence of lingard and rashford rooney has been played in a variety of positions, and been sub'd to make way for youngsters add to that the constant change in managers utd have been thru over past few years, and the manager they have now, who let's face it is the crown prince of buying players. well we've all seen they're results recently leaves utd in a position of needing / wanting to buy players 100mil plus, then they need to offload. i am sure that waynes age will not be a factor for at least a season or so cause he will have desire and heart to carry him thru and i am sure if he gets the wedge he wants from utd i am sure he would play for efc for free we all know he won't but he would i am sure if it was the only way to the neh say'rs your saying no to a player who despite his history loves everton he is a leader a winner and am sure will wisen a lot of our younger players quicker what is there not to like. whether on the pitch or on the training ground he will be a massive influence you just can't buy love like rooney has for us i would expect us to be a position higher in the table because of him altho not sure we will do much better than last season but hoping for more.

6.) 05 Jul 2017 17:31:09
My mate has just text me to say he's signed he heard it on radio merseyside their web site says he's withdrawn from the tour Man utd squad
Big C.

7.) 05 Jul 2017 17:32:55
The guy is still quality, just lost his mojo at the man said. He will go all out for us in an effort to get back into the England squad for the World Cup. May only last one season, but what a season it could be.

Del boy has officially gone back to barce. part of me would have loved to see him stay. If he reaches his potential he could be a top player. However, for a long time he hasn't been able to last 90 minutes which makes me think he isn't working as hard as he could in training.

Good luck to him though.

cropper16

1.) 30 Jun 2017 20:32:08
Agreed Cropper. I just don't think the Prem is for him. I don't doubt that he will thrive in Spain or Italy as the lad has bags of talent.

2.) 01 Jul 2017 10:20:14
I think the U21's touro showed he is okay in flashes but cannot sustain a 90 minute game as you need in the premier.
Personally I think he would be a bench player at Barcelona and although they cannot sell him for a year a Barcelona player will be worth much more than 10m euros in a years time.

18 Jun 2017 14:47:28
Couple of places saying we are looking at dembele from Celtic. Would be a great piece of business but can't see it.

cropper16

1.) 18 Jun 2017 17:00:19
think he would be a great signing cropper but would rather have giroud if i'm honest, will dembele do it in the prem, big big risk for the money mate, scottish league totally diffrent than here mate.

2.) 18 Jun 2017 17:08:58
I think that one is wishful thinking sadly. Just can't see Celtic selling him after one very successful season. And even if they were it would be an astronomical figure for a striker untested at the level his fee would command.

3.) 18 Jun 2017 18:35:42
I'm not being funny but I could score 20 goals in Scotland, not for me lads.

4.) 19 Jun 2017 19:46:59
I agree smith666. Spoke to number of Celtic fans and say he would struggle in PL. griffiths is there number 1 striker and Armstrong is there best player.

17 Jun 2017 16:57:13
Don't suppose anyone knows what happened with the sandro meeting? I know he's in the confederations cup so I'm not expecting to fear much at the minute but are we confident in the deal?

cropper16

1.) 17 Jun 2017 17:03:56
Signing apparently being announced 24/ 48 hours few people reporting it now.

2.) 17 Jun 2017 18:44:14
He's in the Euro U21's.

3.) 17 Jun 2017 20:52:49
Gary Birtley and the Sky commentator have just said during the Spain u 21 very Macedonia match that Sandro Ramie has agreed a move to Everton.

4.) 17 Jun 2017 21:25:57
The above text should read Gary Birtles and the sky commentator covering Spain u 21 v Macedonia have just stated that Sandro Ramirez has agreed a deal and is now an Everton striker.

5.) 17 Jun 2017 23:25:13
Pity on this showing.

My team for tomorrow:

Pickford (although he will probably play stek)
Kenny holgate Keane Robinson
Davies schniederlin
Lookman klaasen vlasic
Calvert-lewin

Gives us youth, a little bit of experience in the middle with schniederlin, pace up top and what I think looks like a solid cb partnership. Though it maybe to early for Robinson so Martina Maybe?

cropper16

1.) 19 Sep 2017 14:29:50
Why the hang up with 4-2-3-1 it hasn't been successful lately and everyone is shouting for tactical changes?
home vs a struggling Sunderland maybe the time to go two up top?

2.) 19 Sep 2017 14:48:48
pickford

kenny. keane. holgate. baines

gueye

lookman. vlasic

sigurddson

rooney. calvert-lewin

this against sunderland and in league aswell, stick to it get some costistency, brings balance and width and pace, forget this 2 holding midfielders its rubbish, jags and williams waist of time there past it.

3.) 19 Sep 2017 15:04:15
Rest Rooney and put Niasse in Djr.

4.) 19 Sep 2017 15:20:19
The problem with playing all the youngsters is defensively they are not good enough I think we need a blend of the proven youngsters ie holgate, davies and dcl and a couple of older heads. If kenny gets a run out i don't think putting Lookman in front of him to start is a good idea as he would be isolated in defence. I would go for kenny with martina at right mid as he plays pretty much as a wing back anyway. Alternatively play martina at rb with lookman rm

pickford
kenny keane holgate baines
martina gueye davies vlasik
sandro dcl.

5.) 19 Sep 2017 14:32:35
Robinson plays for Bolton but I like that team mate.

6.) 19 Sep 2017 15:39:23
Like the sound of that djrblue, nice and attacking and people playing in correct positions.

7.) 19 Sep 2017 15:54:53
My team for tomorrow
Pickford
Kenny Jags Keane. Baines

Siggerson Davies Gueye Lookman

Niasse Calvert Lewin.

8.) 19 Sep 2017 16:38:41
I would play a 4-3-3 tomorrow with one midfielder farther upfield than the other two.
Pickford
Kenny, Keane, Jags, Baines
Gueye, Klassen
Sigurdsson
Lookman, Sandro, Calvert Lewin

Bench: Stek, Davies, Williams, Mirallas, Vlasic, Niasse, Rooney

Front 3 all have pace and can interchange. We spent 45 mil on sigurdsson so we should actually play him in the right position. Hopefully Niasse can get a run out from the bench and take his opportunity.

9.) 19 Sep 2017 16:48:26
Holgate can't play left side of CB

Pickford

Keane. Jags.

Kenny. Sniederlen. Baines.

Klassen. Rooney.
Lookman. Sigurdsson

Sandro.

10.) 19 Sep 2017 16:55:41
Got to play Sig he needs game time.

11.) 19 Sep 2017 16:58:17
I like that one Baz.

12.) 19 Sep 2017 17:33:11
Some good shouts there's myn is a bit different
Stek
Kenny Keane Williams baines
Davies gueye
Lennon sigurdsson lookman
DLC

And I don't think it's the end of the world if we lose tomorrow we have a lot of games. long as we play well and we score I will be happy. must win on the weekend tho.

13.) 20 Sep 2017 12:56:51
Pickford

Kenny Holgate Keane Baines

Davies Guaye Vlasic

Lookman Sandro klassen.

31 Aug 2017 23:57:46
Overall, I have slight worries about our squad. There is a distinct lack of pace (mirallas/ Lennon are the only experienced first team that are fit) and we are lacking an imposing goal scorer. However, I still think I'm happier than before the window opened. Lukaku will be a great striker, but he didn't half blow hot and cold for us (think it's fair to say he was cold when we needed him most against the big guns) . We have brought in some quality players. although some of them took longer than we would hope, that's not always in our control. We brought in a highly rated striker I'm sandro but maybe expected him to hit the ground at 100m sprinter pace. But from what I've heard we had assurances that giroud was on board until this missus jumped in. Personally though, I am delighted to see us sort our gk with someone who can be here for 10 years then some, cb with a solid no nonsense defender And build towards the future again (im not even mentioning one of the most productive midfielders in the league for years, a premier league legend and 2 players with vast amount of admirers. Negatives and positives, but personally I'm happier overall.

Good post cropper16.

27 Aug 2017 21:06:20
Honestly find this all hilarious. We get called bitter but in my eyes I day fickle. Iv seen people change from saying we are on our way to cups to being relegation fodder. We possibly are the most negative fans that i know.

cropper16

1.) 27 Aug 2017 21:36:53
No one more negative then tranmere fans and people need to reliase squad needs time to adapt.

2.) 27 Aug 2017 22:49:56
No need to be negative we are the best team in the premier league at the moment possibly even Europe we would possibly have a tough game beating real Madrid but we have as many world class players as them. Sigurdsson would easily get in reals team and rooney, klassen, Keane. Bring it on. Come on you mighty Everton.

21 Aug 2017 23:55:27
Read that we have bid for perez from arsenal? . Obviously we missed out on him last time and he doesn't appear to have been given much chance. Thought he was wanting to go back to deportivo. Ed, any noises your way?

cropper16

{Ed002's Note - Read the posts.}

02 Aug 2017 23:43:45
Ed, not really sure where to ask this sorry.

I'm not sure whether it's true or not but heard man city are putting a buyback clause into the iheanacho deal. I know this is something the big Spanish clubs like to do but iv not really heard of it happening over here. Are you aware of any clubs who do this? Or do you think this might become more popular going forward?

cropper16

{Ed025's Note - its becoming more popular here lately cropper mate..

1.) 03 Aug 2017 10:28:07
I think I seen Ed002 say Chelsea have been doing it regularly for a while now. Thank god it was after we got Lukaku. As bad as Martinez was at least he left a whopper of a money deal for Lukaku behind him. Has helped us to strengthen the squad this summer.

I'm looking forward to having him back, but I don't see him playing up top for us. Let's face it, we don't have an abundance of pace so I think we need him playing where he is best, on the wing.

From what I read, psv are about to sell their number 1 and room is moving to replace him. If it's true, ya can't blame him cause he obviously weren't going to be starting many games for us.

Not saying you never heard it or that he isn't a chef in the kitchen but I question why we are holding transfer update meetings in the kitchens of goodison.

In terms of the overall rumour, if he could get back his form I would love it to be true but he seemed so disinterested as soon as it stopped going their way. Personally I'd look elsewhere.

Part of me thinks we have paid more than we expected to get players in early and give them as much time to gel. Being completely honest, I couldn't careless anyway. It's not my money and not my job to care about it.

I understand that ed but surely we should have had a back up or even 2 given how important it was. Still gutted that we never got giroud though.

cropper16

{Ed001's Note - should have done. It is very surprising with Walsh involved as he normally gets a list of alternatives to every position.}

Thanks for the addition ed. I know you hate talking money, as do I. People need to ignore it and just focus on the actual players in my opinion.

Iv seen a stat which said our net spend was actually 4th (maybe 5th) I'm the league. People are ignoring that there are a lot of fees involved with signing players. We haven't went out and bought one or two, we have overthrown the squad. Even ignoring the actual transfer fees, that costs money.

cropper16

{Ed002's Note - It might be an apt time to explain again about the cost of transfers (excluding wages). What is paid by the buying club would typically include:
(a) Transfer fee - the big number.
(b) Any levy applied by the local FA – 5% for the EPL.
(c) Tax due on the transfer fee – typically this will be VAT (at varying rates across Europe) some or all of which should be reclaimable.
(d) Agent fees – this may be to one or more agents (as an example, Liverpool have spent £40M plus VAT on agent fees over the past three years leading to this window).
(e) Tax due on the agent fees – typically this is VAT at the local rate where the agent bills from – it is not reclaimable.
(f) Intermediary fees – this may be to one or more sponging leeches (what do you mean you have a super agent?) .
(g) Tax due on the Intermediary fees – typically this is VAT at the local rate where the Intermediary bills from – it is not reclaimable.
(h) Signing on fee to the player (possibly including non-reclaimable VAT if the player is VAT registered).
(i) Legal fees.
(j) VAT on legal fees which is reclaimable.
(k) Moving/relocation costs for the player.
(l) VAT on moving/relocation costs which is reclaimable.
(m) Paying up insurance costs to the selling club (sometimes waived).

What is paid by the selling club would typically include:
(a) If the player is under 24 and moving between different football associations, a Solidarity contribution paid to his previous clubs responsible for his training - this is 5% of the transfer fee received (apportioned 5% of the contribution for each year from the season of his 12th birthday to the season of his 15th birthday and 10% of the contribution for each season from his 16th to 23rd birthdays).
(b) If the player moves to a higher category club (all clubs being categorised 1 to 4) then Training Compensation is due for the period of age 12 to 21. Compensation is due to all clubs when the player turns from amateur to professional and thereafter only when he moves from his final training club to another club. The initial training compensation is levied at the training costs associated with Category 4 clubs. The subsequent figure is agreed between the sides or tribuneral if necessary.
(c) Any monies owed to the player if he did not request a transfer – again this is 5% of the transfer fee received.
(d) Any monies owed to the player in terms of his contract (typically outstanding owed wages (not future wages) and bonuses).
(e) Any money contractually due to a previous club as the result of a sell-on clause.

Just sharing my opinion. Very few teams go to the big teams and attempt to control play and dominate games. I do get what you mean that we need to be more involved and have more of an attacking threat than we have but I don't expect us to go to any of the top 5 or 6 thinking that we should dominate.
