Just a note on the 2 Ukrainian teams being thrown out. If it is for match fixing, bribery or the like there maybe some hope. But if it is for FFP reasons I wouldn't hold out too much hope for that just look at Man city. All the same it would be nice to dream.

Ed do you think that 3rd place is a distinct possibility. And do you know if we have an investor for a new stadium or is it just rubbish.

COYB

emeraldblue

{Ed025's Note - 3rd will be very hard EB, and the stadium talk is just that at the moment mate talk..

1.) I would just love us to finish fourth. If we did I think we will become a bargain for an investor who will see our potential as a business and as a football club.
Three key figure heads have got us where we are and I don't care whether other blues agree with me or not, but Kenright, Moyes and Roberto have done this.
Roberto was the big shot in the arm as he has that people factor and is brilliant on tv.
Fingers crossed that in five games time we will be there, but I am under no illusions Man City will gunning for us as will Utd. Sides will be looking to spoil the party and put us back in our box.
Over to Roberto and players.

I see we are linked with Powell next season. Eds what do you think about this. I fear that if Everton do go after him it will involve either Barkley or Coleman. Give us an opinion on that.

COYB

emeraldblue

{Ed025's Note - powell is a decent prospect EB, but not in the same bracket as barkley or coleman...the only way barkley will leave, is as part of a lukaku deal, but its not on the cards yet mate..

1.) 11 Apr 2014 19:00:29
Wouldnt swap barkley for lukaku

2.) Powell would be a good signing providing no one goes the other way

3.) Rather Powell than Cleverly

4.) Hold up cadet, its not Cleverly's fault. Its the fact that we can't appreciate his "Spanish style". Lay off yeah :P

Hi ed. I know it has been a long time since I posted last. I have been working in the US since September and I am just back now. Can you let me know some business. I see our great position, I am so proud to be a loyal blue, shame on who is leading the league.
I just saw us linked to Tell and Atsu what are our chances of landing them. And what are our chances of landing big L u.

COYB

emeraldblue

{Ed002's Note - The club would like to do something with Tello but it will be difficult. Lukaku is attracting interest from elsewhere and Chelsea would want Barkley as part of any deal. Atsu or Hazard are the most likely loanees right now - but nothing will be confirmed just yet.}

1.) Hazard as in Eden? or his younger brother?

2.) Thorgen, the younger brother.

3.) 10 Apr 2014 15:38:36
Eden? Lol as if

Hey ed. I was surfing through a list of free agents and Junior Hoilett's name appeared. I'm just wondering, would he be worth a punt or are there issues there. Also ed, could you tell me about how much could be in the transfer kitty and should it be saved for the summer rather than January and go on a shopping spree. COYB. {Ed025's Note - lots of issues mate, not great on the money side emerald mate..

Just a consideration, would anyone consider any Celtic players to buy now that they are out of CL . I would be interested in any comments from anybody.

1.) As we could strenghten defence, Ambrose could be worth a punt.

2.) 27 Aug 2014 09:11:55
Watched them a lot due to my cousin being a fan. van dijk is the one. and keep an eye on forrest

3.) NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Ambrose was shocking last nite, he just let everyone skip, run and walk passed him,

4.) The tall guy Dutch man center back still there?

5.) Sorry. Got my ambrose and van djik mixed up

6.) 27 Aug 2014 11:35:53
Does van dijk play as the left or right sided centre back. Think he could be a long term replacement for distan if he plays on the left hand side. Although I'd like to think distan could play another year at the end of each season, the time is going to come soon that we will need to replace mr consistant.

7.) Van dijk decent but they want 10 mil could got him last year for a milliion i'd rather go for ried at west ham as I don't think jags stones can play together it be like hetinga jags as heitinga played well with distan as he was always to similar to jags

8.) 27 Aug 2014 12:09:17
Every time I see Anthony Stokes he seems to be impress me but I don't think he would get in the team ahead of Lukaku or Eto'o

Cowpat in response to your None instead of Mine. I use a tablet for my posts and when it doesn't recognize a word it automatically changes it to a recognized word. I sometimes hate this machine. Just as well I don't spell fock.

Hey eds what do you think personally about etoo. I for one wouldn't have gone for him, but with a little bit of Robbo magic maybe we could get him to scoring between 12/15 goals next season. That for me would be a good return of investment. He is effectively costing Everton about 5m quid. One only has to look at Long, my fellow countryman costing Southampton 12m this season who only scored 4 goals last season, I think that is a bargain. He is a player of immense experience with 3 CL medals to his name compare him to Ricky Lambert who cost 4m plus wages to the RS. I think it is good business.
If we can get Naismith, None and Etoo up to 12 goals each which looking at Kevin could be more and Romelu up to somewhere around 20 goals or maybe even more with the possibility of getting either Welbeck or Hernandez with around 10 goals I do honestly think we will have a fighting chance of a coveted CL spot. We would have also a fighting chance of winning Europa League which I think Etoo is still good for goals there. Or with a bit of luck get Etoo and Naismith up to 15 goals or more and Romelu up to 25 and maybe Welbeck/Hernandez up to near 15 goals and some midfielder into double figures dare I say it we could be title contenders.
Remember Etoo had limited time with Chelsea and still scored 9 league goals in 21 appearances it is still a decent return. With Everton he should have more game time and should by the laws of averages score more goals than last season. All I am saying is give the man a chance, we are already killing him.

{Ed025's Note - im all for giving everyone a chance EB, if he comes im sure he will be made very welcome mate..

1.) Liked the spelling of "Kone" as "None" in the original post - was it intended or a Freudian slip?

08 Aug 2014 00:51:58
Hey ed what if we were to get Adams Traore on loan and buy nolito couldn't we stick Nolito up front. Seems he is quite versatile and knows where the goal is. We could also try for Lacuna on loan again, I would be extremely happy with that squad. Also ed, what would Richards cost now, could we get him on the cheap.

COYB

emeraldblue

{Ed025's Note - adama trraore has been linked since delboy left EB, but its far from certain, nolito is a winger, and im not sure what is happening with lacina mate. richards is being valued at around £7m, which is too high for a player with his injury record..

Hey ed would like your thoughts on this. Financially I feel that paying off the £28m for Lukaku should be no problem owing that Man U owe £27.5m for fellaini that money could be used to pay Chelsea. With that we should have plenty of money to get another marquis signing before the end of the transfer window e.g. Bony. Couple this with the fact that we have Robbo, a loan signing genius, we could tackle league and EL glory, dare we say it title contenders, it is nice to dream. Every year I dream of the glory days of the eighties. This is always possible considering the RS nearly won the league why can't we, one only has to look at Atletico last season. I have never been so excited as this season in a long time.

COYB

emeraldblue

1.) Emerald, reign your expectations in son. It's great to have ambition but signing Lukaku doesn't suddenly mean we're title contenders. Please don't start getting ahead f yourself and setting unrealistic targets. It only serves to disappoint .

2.) I'd say we're 2-3 seasons away from being title contenders as long as we keep our players and they improve as much as many believe they will.

3.) Pb2 I can't remember the saying exactly but its somthin to do with reaching for the stars. The teams who finished in the top 8 last year should all have ambitions of trying to win the tital and yes I think we should be tryin to win it this year

4.) Listen we have the same team as last year top 6 will be hard and the teams above are always going to be able to spend more, if we get a season with no Europe in the next couple of years with a good team we could push for champions league but to be even close to Chelsea or city's sqaud depth is unthinkable so please get title contenders out of your head

5.) 01 Aug 2014 08:46:10
Honestly? We are one suarez away from winning the league, as is everyone
