If m/ brough miss out on promotion, and they want Besic, might be a deal to be had with Gibson, not flashey, but sound consistant and very efective.
Plus, if we want a back up target man, I would take Rondon from WBA, not a great goals to games record, but great hold up player to bring others in, and givern his reported release amount, a bargain givern some of the crazy money for strikers.

I'd go for Adama Traore from Boro. He's been on fire this season. Been motm 13 times out of last 15 games I think. London is affective at holding the ball up, good at heading and can score. His hold up play against us was very good. Would he hold up DLC's progress or not though.

2.) 13 May 2018 16:56:43
IMO should be looking ahead of Gibson, still prefer Mawson with Williams going back to Swansea as part of the deal.

3.) 14 May 2018 07:43:33
Not sure that even a relegated Swansea would want Williams after this season.

4.) 14 May 2018 10:40:04
I wonder what transfer fee Everton would want for Besic - and how much Middlesbrough would be prepared to, pay (especially if they’re not promoted) ? Perhaps another season’s loan with an option to buy at the end?

I know there are a number of priorities, but, if Shaw from unt is an option, I would snatch their hands off.

Kurzawa all day long for me. PSG have said he's available for a reported 20 million as they need to balance the books in order to comply with FFP. Young, pacy, good defensive, good on the ball and French international. 20 million isn't that much nowadays. But coukd we attract him?

2.) 12 Jan 2018 11:26:47
Great shout there kingo, but couldn't really see him coming to us as there are a few teams needing left backs.

03 Jan 2018 03:43:54
Strange one, but here goes, understand unt offered Shaw plus cash, for Barkley, don't know if it has real substance or not!

1.) 03 Jan 2018 06:30:03
I’d take it then “forget” to take Shaw to Finch Farm.

2.) 03 Jan 2018 09:52:57
I’d try to get him on loan. We’ve played united twice so will have him for every possible game between now and the end of the season.

3.) 03 Jan 2018 12:18:40
playing for united now so possible they won't be letting him go this window, they have an option to trigger a one year extension on his contract also so no rush to sell, only chance I can really see of this going through is if they bought another left back as they would not leave themselves short on such a position (unlike a certain club that plays in blue)

I fully understand the need to off load quite a number of the present staff, but feel the new coach should make an assesment in pre season.
Just a personal point of view, but i would be inclined to keep mori, and ship out Keane, would keep Niass, and send Bolasie, back to where he came from, Klassan, is a good footballer, but just not suited to the premiership
With regret Galloway is not good enough and why we have givern a three year deal to Pennington, when he could not hold down a place in a championship side seems very odd.
Just hope Braned can sought it.

1.) 30 May 2018 14:55:33
Agree with all of that apart from Klassen, think he deserves a go under a more attack minded manager.
Defo keep Niasse
Defo get rid of Bolasie.

2.) 30 May 2018 15:38:44
I want us to be top six, but in all seriousness we have to look at our players and ask if first they are top six standard and then if not can they improve to top six standard. Based on that I wouldn’t have Niasse, or Bolasie and no doubt a few more. I know it was great to see Niasse fight his way through that nightmare that Koeman put him in but there comes a time when with all the will in the world, the fight still falls short of what’s required. Regarding Bolasie, well he wasn’t top six when we bought him and has only got worse. Without sounding unsympathetic since his injury.

Klassen hasn’t had near enough game time to show if he can take the premier. So I can’t really say much there. Funes Mori also isn’t good enough and even though I had longings for him to return asap this season it was only due to the options on the left being rank poor whilst Baines was injured.

The only way to break the top six is to either recruit or develop to that standard. And sell those who fall short.

3.) 30 May 2018 17:18:03
I can't see there being many changes in the current squad. As most people know its too big but who would teams actually want, probably the players we would like to keep. I can't see many clubs coming in for the likes of Martina, Williams or Bolaise. We may only sell Rooney, possibly Mori, MCCarthy Besic and Mirallas. We all know we could do with new LB LCD and additional Striker but we may have to settle with what we have for a few transfer windows.

4.) 31 May 2018 08:17:40
Unfortunately the squad needs another overhaul. We need a number 2 goalkeeper. At the back Williams, Funes Mori, Martina are not good enough Baines and Jagielka getting too old. Defensive midfield I can't/ won't forget that Schneiderlin didn't perform or even try to perform for much of the season. In midfield Rooney hasn't the pace, Davies needs to learn how to pass the ball again. In attack Bolassie useless, Niasse, a tryer but simply not top six quality, Miralles get rid. Questions about Ramirez and Klassen that, quite frankly, they should have answered by now themselves.

Squad far too big and payroll is crippling

There is an awful lot of work for the new team to sort out. They will need our patience.

5.) 31 May 2018 09:00:55
I think that we should keep Niasse and Bolasie. Progress has to be gradual. I'm working off the assumption that we should only sign 3 or 4 quality first team players. And I also think we should have 2 players for every position. We are not going to sign 2 strikers, and in case me play 2 up top we need 4 strikers (Tosun, DCL, new striker, Niasse) so Niasse is a good last ditch option when we are running out of ideas.

I believe that we can save money by starting Lookman and giving him a proper run in the team. Bolasie would be good to come off the bench and run at players for the last 20 mins or so.

The players to get rid of are:
Williams (past it)
Martina (not good enough)
Schneiderlin, Mirallas (awful attitude)
Browning, Galloway, Garbutt, Tarashaj (not going to make it)
Robles Sandro (don't want to be here)

ed25, Can you confirm how may years, Lookman has on his present contract? If, as I belive, it still has three years to run, then the notion of him makeing up his mind weather to go or stay is surely mute, the decision is entiley Everton's to make.

jcwblue

{Ed025's Note - yes jcw he has 3 years left on his contract mate..

1.) 27 May 2018 19:33:20
I'm sure Lookman will be assured of game time with us next season. Just needs the right handling by the club.
I heard the other lad Onyekuru is still way off getting a work permit though.

The crap in the sun about dressing room discontent, is just that, crap.
Lets not forget the moto of the sun, never let the truth get in the way of a good storey, I don't doubt that givern the season we have just had, there may have been some friction, even the odd heated exchange, but no more than at any other club when things are not going well.
Remember this paper is not in the list of papers, that get coperation from the club.

If anything Salah committed the original foul, but it was a nothing incident, just an unfortunate and holley accidental fall, bit like them trying to claim that the first goal was a foul.

Have you forgoten that these hooligans prevented our best ever side from haveing a crack at the european cup? The media seem to totally and conveniently papered over that in their liverpool love in, they lose their one trick pony, and then are exposed for the jorneymen they really are.

Kronke seems content on getting a good financial return on his investment, rather than haveing the ambition to create a great side. Have a mountain cash but seem content to see other scoop up the realy big stars.

Could not agree more, looks like a boy amonst men, had we not had so many problem eleswhere, this would have got more attention, we are cutting our losses eleswhere, and we sould just try to recover as much of the purchase price as we can.

Is there still a deal to be had for the L/ B from Boco Juniors, or has he gone eleswhere, sounded a very good option, or was this another Walsh pipe dream?
