just seen this Sky sources: Sunderland are on the verge of a double-signing from Everton this afternoon. We understand defensive duo Brendan Galloway and Tyias Browning are currently on their way to Wearside to undergo medicals ahead of season-long loan deals.

In addition, Sunderland are close to agreeing a permanent deal for Everton winger Aiden McGeady, which would take the Everton arrivals to three.

However, the Republic of Ireland winger's move is less advanced than the other two, but Sunderland remain in advanced talks with Everton.

i guess we do need kone then and with the movement of efc loanee's to sunderland probs means he will arrive sooner rather than later.

2.) 04 Jul 2017 15:40:49
Hey floats I speak for every Sunderland fan and pray you take kone he is like a petulant little boy and honestly don't believe he is any better than what you have. Mercenary sums him up.

3.) 04 Jul 2017 16:48:43
We need some cover for Baines, it seems the best cover Galloway is out on loan again very odd.

{Ed025's Note - thats telling me that we have someone lined up milomj, im not sure who just yet mate but the signs look ominous..

4.) 04 Jul 2017 17:18:44
yeh he would not be in my thoughts if i was buying players for fut either dunno why i have become his advocate either don't really have a view of this player never paid atten. to him in his 1st season at sunderland and the same last year if i'm honest. young footballers don't loose talent over night i personally think sunderland chairman gave ok to his move last year and whilst the deal was being finalised moyes came in and said no your staying. rightly or wrongly this affected the way he viewed moyes and sunderland and his game mentally but he is still capable of stepping up and maybe ronny is the man to help him. just a thought . don't care if we get him or not. i do remember tricky trev going thru something similar with us before joining rangers sometimes a team over relys on a player and that player gets tired of it all.

5.) 04 Jul 2017 19:57:50
Hey Floats, wait til we return the favour for Kone and you get Mcgeady, cannot believe we are getting a transfer fee for him.

6.) 04 Jul 2017 20:46:46
Did well for thir manager at PNE, so perhaps at a lower leval he can produce the goods, but think we should pass on Kone, an attitude problem, rather than a lack of ability,

I heard that in SSN this morning as well, hopefully makes it easier for us.
Eds I know we have spoken about scouting before and you mention the Sporting Director fits in as a buffer between coach and board amongst other things, how does this set up work with player recruitment and selection. I am assuming with a Sporting Director the coach still has some input in the players recruited for him to coach?

{Ed002's Note - Firtsly, Manchester United are not a team in the way of the plans of Everton in this respect. If Everton can get Monchi in the role of a Sporting Director you can assume that (a) he will oversee and be ultimately responsible for all of the footballing activities from the first team to the kiddies; (b) the scouting network will report in to him; (c) he will keep the board off teh back of the manager; (d) he would have full responsibility for footballing policy and will work with the manager/coach to implement that policy - obviously with some input from the other side.

All of this is common in European football and has been an approach used to some extent (to lesser degrees of success generally) by English teams - but it is the way to go.

As for transfers, he would be ultimately responsible. There will be input from the manager/coach and the amount of that input will depend on who the manager/coach is. There will continue to be significant input from teh scouting organisation as well. Some clubs, and one EPL side in particular, utilise trusted advisors to help as well.}

Sevilla has said monchi is not going anywhere.

3.) 01 Jun 2016 19:02:37
Hi Ed thanks for the info, are you aware of any team that are in the way for Everton on this?

{Ed002's Note - There is Sevilla who want him to stay and they say they will fix the problems he has with the club. There is interest from a couple of clubs in Italy and there is interest from Real Madrid. There remains tentative interest from Spurs but I suspect that will not be pushed.}

4.) 01 Jun 2016 19:51:53
Not sure if this is really relevant, but he do you know if the Everton job would interest him in any way?

{Ed025's Note - he is interested hugo, how interested may depend on the wages for the gig mate..

5.) 01 Jun 2016 20:46:45
Great! Really does seem that Moshiri's the real deal, doesn't it.

{Ed025's Note - it does hugo but lets not get carried away until things come to fruition mate..

6.) 01 Jun 2016 21:08:57
Ed002 you seem to be a very well informed person who words everything very clearly. in your honest opinion what's the chances of Everton getting monchi and or emery on board? Thanks for all the info top job!

{Ed002's Note - I really have no way of quantifying the chances on Monchi joining. Everton would need to agree a separation package with his club, persuade him that his future is on Merseyside as opposed to elsewhere and put an acceptable pacjage together. It will be very hard work.}

7.) 01 Jun 2016 22:44:16
Nice information there ed thanks, think I'm finally understanding the role of a director of football, basically he does everything the manager does but without the worries of day to day training and on match days etc etc.

So still lots to do in the pursuit of filling position/ positions.

On the coaches side, you got any new news you can pass on ed02? or still as last reported? Are they working on both at the same time or hope to recruit DoF first followed by coach?

Thanks in advance ed.

{Ed002's Note - Nothing right now.}

monchi going to Utd, according to Futbol Agent, and they are usually right, so let's go for Emery if the buyout is 2m euros.

If it's true 20m plus Gregory van dear wiel for Coleman would u take it??

patamesbury

1.) 30 Aug 2015 11:43:04
20m plus their 3rd choice Right Back, no tar.

2.) 30 Aug 2015 12:02:18
Sorry got him confused with Van Rijn who plays for Ajax, not sure if he is 3rd choice or not, I know Aurier who used to be linked with Arsenal went there and played lots of games at Right Back. Still a no from me though.

3.) 30 Aug 2015 14:03:06
I hate player plus cash deals. They're insulting, "you have our crap players and we'll have your best ones". Grrrr!!

{Ed025's Note - im with you ace..

4.) 30 Aug 2015 14:30:13
Oh I don't know. Six quid, two packets of wotsits,a curly worly and McGeady for Messi. I have that player plus deal

I cannot put into words how disgusted i was with that performance last night, in all my 41 years of supporting the club that has to be one of the worst. We need a manager, fast, who i have no idea, maybe Dyche but why would Burnley let him go, why would he come to a shambles like us? who do you Ed's think is our best choice of manager, if any!

patamesbury

{Ed025's Note - whoever they pick will determine the direction we are heading pat, a dyche or allardyce will be steady stuff top half finish but not pulling up any trees, a silva or tuchel type will be looking at europa as a minimum with a view to breaking into the top 4 eventually, a simeone will expect us to win things and want money to make it happen, in the position we are in i think silva would be the obvious choice mate..

i don't think that moyes is being seriously considered, just the club speaking to all potential applicants. I expect us to get either FDB or Pelligrini.

If the board did not know before they must know now that Martinez has to go, bad performance and a fan running on the pitch to confront him, very bad.

1.) 16 Apr 2016 17:04:21
could team and fans spirit be any lower? I understand he may have rested players with the derby and semi in mind, but now think two games to save his job!

2.) 16 Apr 2016 17:27:46
One saving grace for Everton is that Farhad Moshiri was at Goodison today to see what everyone barring Bill Kenwright already knew.

3.) 16 Apr 2016 17:43:09
Yep saw that with the fan. Haven't seen Roberto's interview yet (still wetting my vocal chords) . Two things, bloody stupid running on to confront him, gets you nowhere and just gives our Club a bad name, the other is that Martinez will gloss over it. All we can do is sound off because nothing will happen until the end of the season. I am in the camp though of even if we win the Cup then RM should go.
