Talk of a possible swop idea with Ademola Lookman to Arsenal and Giroud to Everton .
Only one problem Ademola is a promising youngster with his whole career ahead of him and Giroud the other end of his career .
He is though a proven goal scorer .
Offers being mooted Re fee only for Lookman of 15 M though is surely not enough in today's market given his potential and the fact we paid £11 M I think to Charlton
What's your views on this?

trebor

1.) 08 Oct 2017 15:29:34
keep and PLAY lookman, he can be the future star, giroud is the " now and then "

we should be looking at strengthening the team and the kids.

{Ed025's Note - im with you dixie, players like ademola are our future and as much as i like giroud i dont want him if it means getting rid of lookie mate..

2.) 08 Oct 2017 23:01:54
Keep the lad and give him some game time, he needs to learn when to do things and when to pass but that will come with experience. All these links to southern teams is quite worrying, I read the lad was homesick well before any links to clubs came out. Have you heard anything about him wanting a return to London ed?

3.) 09 Oct 2017 11:13:27
If it is a case of him being homesick, I am happy enough to do a swap deal with arsenal. They take lookman in exchange for usmanov 😁.

4.) 09 Oct 2017 11:39:24
I actually agree with you ed and Blue Potato and Dixie .
The fact that RK ignoring him is a disgrace as is with Kenny . Re Walker buying all this talent for the future is all very well but no good if we get relegated .
Pull your finger out RK and start playing talent whatever age they are and stop playing the same ones i. e. Williams that make the same mistakes each week.
I will be extremely surprised if we win at BHA and see a draw as are best possible outcome which no doubt RK will be pleased with!

5.) 09 Oct 2017 16:26:45
These stories Re Lookman are gathering pace .
I know Lukaku had to go basically even though I still feel we should have held out till we had a replacement but if we were to sell Lookman I really would flip my lid!
Surely we would not sell him?

6.) 09 Oct 2017 18:57:07
We will keep Lookman, RK gives him game time but sparingly that I think will continue until he thinks he is good enough defensively then i think he will start more.

29 Sep 2017 09:47:52
I have always had doubts about RK and it gives me no pleasure to see it in reality .
I do wonder if we were sucked in by RK the world class player . How many world class players are as good at management as they were as players!
Howard Kendall was a excellent player and manager but he a exception .

Look at all the top managers past and present they were all very ordinary players .
I have no magic wand as to who we should have picked but if things continue the way they are st the moment then I see no option but to promote Unsworth and Ferguson and run things internally .

At least their hearts are in the club which could be seen in Ferguson last weekend .
Very difficult decision for the board coming up .

trebor

1.) 29 Sep 2017 13:16:34
ancelotti is available, would cost us a bit in compo, but hopefully we will offset that with a higher league position and extended cup runs.

2.) 29 Sep 2017 15:22:12
Ancellotti would cost nothing in compensation but may demand a lot wages and surely a young up and coming manager may be better. Someone with fresh new ideas. Eddie Howe, Lucian favre ( don't know his age) , someone obscure from Italy or France.

Who Leipzig got managing them?

3.) 29 Sep 2017 15:36:34
i meant compo for koeman if we sacked him.

4.) 29 Sep 2017 15:41:34
I may be tempted by Ancelotti but I keep thinking back to our most successful manager was a ex player and RS had their most successful time while promoting internally so I would definitely be looking to support DU . Let's face it he could hardly do any worse .

I have never known such a stubborn, clueless manager than RK, he certainly does not endear himself to the supporters and his treatment of Naisse was criminal, as well as upsetting several other players.

If Bill is the supporter we think he is, he must be hurting and thinking how long we can keep this present situation going before he takes action.

5.) 29 Sep 2017 15:55:24
Trebor, more clueless than Martinez? Yikes!

6.) 29 Sep 2017 16:46:58
True dixie but we've got money now to pay him if required. Think we will know more closer to Christmas. If results haven't improved, or more importantly performances, then the board will have to make a change.

7.) 29 Sep 2017 16:52:28
Gibbs I see were you are coming from but yes overall
I honestly think we played more entertaining football under RM .
Also he had nowhere near that amount of money to spend and also got us Lukaku and a massive profit .
They both clueless but RM at least used players at his disposal.

8.) 29 Sep 2017 18:46:10
We were certainly heading for relegation with RM. Koeman has a lot to do but at this stage don't think he is as bad as RM was. He may very well turn out to be with time. Not yet though for me.

9.) 29 Sep 2017 19:02:57
Trevor do you not remember Martinez brought niasse in and froze him out?

10.) 29 Sep 2017 20:36:53
sorry to be so blunt, but what a load of rubbish! he didn't do too bad last year and he will get it right this season, I'm sure. I'm not his biggest fan, but he must be given time. I liked Moyes, he had a couple of dodgy seasons and ulimately came good - no matter what you thought of him as a person. Everton do not sack managers on a whim or as a knee jerk reaction to a few bad results. This is not a great time to be involved anywhere near football. So many media obsessed, championship manager playing, microwave fans.

11.) 29 Sep 2017 21:18:35
Well said pierre. Besides if we signed the striker and left sided defender rk so publicly wanted things might have looked a lot rosier now.

12.) 30 Sep 2017 00:16:16
But Pierre, Moyes didn't spend £150m on players. We should at least be comfortably beating the likes of Limassol with the money we've spent.

13.) 30 Sep 2017 08:41:29
Time will tell Pierre but as Blue Tommy said we should be beating teams like Limassol in first gear.
I am not a knee jerk kind of person but RK is the exception.
I am now reading that Spurs are sniffing round Ademola Lookman because having paid 11million pound for him he has been frozen out also .
Seems very strange considering we can't score goals .
I have also just read that Stan at Arsenal has bid for Usmanov shares . A dream would be for him to join Midhri at Everton BUT RK not helping to inspire Usmanov that it would be money well spent given the way we are performing.
RK seems to have upset so many people, we are playing extremely negative football, not entertaining at all and little effort being shown . He also in my opinion would not inspire you as could be seen by the contrast in reactions between him and Duncan Ferguson last Saturday .
If I am wrong I will be the first to hold my hands up but I am convinced as I was before a ball was kicked this season that he is not suited to THE PEOPLES CLUB.

14.) 02 Oct 2017 00:22:52
The man never addressed what every team needs, pace, width passion. Did he think Rooney, klas, sig, snide, are just going to pass it round like Barcelona and play teams off the park? The only positives this season are vlasic, niasse, dcl, jjk and he barely had anything to do with them.

20 Jun 2017 13:28:09
RE BRAMLEY MOOR DOCK
I have a friend who let's just say use to have his company on the shirts of a famous Spanish team and has some involvement with the Dock
He has said the Welsh supporters of whom we have many will in future travel from a coach park in Wallasey by boat to our new ground
HOW GOOD IS THAT!

trebor

{Ed025's Note - i want to move to wales now trebor..

1.) 20 Jun 2017 14:14:45
Will it go via Cardiff Bay?

2.) 20 Jun 2017 14:32:49
Hope so browndawg. got to be better than travelling up by train!

3.) 20 Jun 2017 15:12:22
Sounds like the Last of the Mohicans !

4.) 20 Jun 2017 16:28:52
We don't want your kind around here, Ed! Haha.

{Ed025's Note - thanks hugo..the sons of glendower said the same thing mate.. :)

5.) 20 Jun 2017 16:33:24
Welsh Rareboat.

{Ed025's Note - love it lance..

6.) 20 Jun 2017 17:46:20
I wonder how many Welsh fans we have who come to Goodison. Going to look right idiots arriving in a rowing boat.

7.) 20 Jun 2017 18:28:50
Even better when we block the dock moorings for our Viking neighbours travelling on their long ships for their match Days.

8.) 20 Jun 2017 19:26:12
Plenty of us travel up from South Wales every other week.

9.) 20 Jun 2017 20:30:04
Browndaug I not sure of how many of you great fans travel from South Wales but that's a true fan but I know when I use to walk along Priory Rd as a youngster I would read were all the coaches were from and lots from Rhyl and Llandudno and Ruthin Colwyn Bay.
On a other pleasant subject I spent a lovely afternoon with Billy Bingham and he was a true gent even giving me a signed copy of his book .
For the younger members on here he was a winger and Manager at Everton as well as manager of NI and got them to the 1/ 4 finals of the World Cup ( what an achievement) Also played in a cup final.
Lovely meeting you Billy.

10.) 20 Jun 2017 22:46:35
There's a South Wales Supporters Club. We take a bus full every game.

11.) 21 Jun 2017 09:56:34
Well done Browndawg as I say true BLUES
Let's hope you arrive in style on a ferry shortly
Perhaps the boats could play Z CARS as they arrived.

09 Mar 2016 16:16:03
Adrian Heath banging on about it being very important we stick with Brown Shoes . Does he go the match or is he loosing it like RM!
Ivam getting so fustrated ivam going to explode.

1.) 09 Mar 2016 21:32:28
My personal number one would be Simeone from Ath Madrid. Top class imho. No English though. Chances are very small.

2.) 09 Mar 2016 22:54:16
Simone, mourinho n pellegrini I love the optimism but let's get serious they wouldn't consider us, new money but still the same money constraints due to fan coal fair play, were at are limit and that won't change.

3.) 10 Mar 2016 05:38:38
mike, would you have said Claudio Ranieri would consider Leicester before he was hired? There is no reason why we shouldn't be able to attract top name managers.

4.) 10 Mar 2016 08:09:46
mikedeblue I said 'chances are small' for a reason.

It all depends on situation. Who knows if a top manager will come. Good squad with money to spend. I know not many will agree with this one but I think we are just as attractive as Man Utd.

Our squad is underachieving. With a top manager in with money to spend I have no doubt our ability to get into champions league next season would increase greatly. I'd fancy us to get into top 4 next season with a manager who knows how to to set the team up defensively.

There's no doubt in my mind that it's Martinez that dropped a lot of points for us this season. Some people are questioning are we overrating the team and squad. No way is my opinion. Most people are saying we are underachieving. I totally agree with that.

5.) 11 Mar 2016 08:50:41
Ranieri wasn't really a top name manager before this season. He'd been sacked from 3 jobs in 4 years, with the last being the Greek national side. He was out of work. That is different from enticing an acknowledged managerial superstar like Simeone from a club that regularly challenges Barcelona and Real for La Liga, plays every season in the Champions League and are richer than we are. And before someone talks about our billionaire owner - his money is his, not ours. Our club is no richer than it was last month, although thankfully he's promised to invest (not give) some money. All this talk of Mourinho and Simeone will backfire when we (please God) get a new manager who realistically isn't going to be on that level. Whoever it is, we're going to have to get behind them.

Just been announced this years Hillsborough memorial will be the last .
I would be very interested in Everton Fans views
Mine is it gone on long enough now and right decision.

{Ed025's Note - not for me it has not trebor, and i expect the families feel the same, the inquests have not finished yet or the culprits brought to justice, should poppy day be abolished as it was so long ago?...no, that terrible tragedy at hillsborough transcends football and..."lest we forget"..

Can I ask the group what you think will happen if we loose again to BHA?
What will it say about the board if they cont to ignore his diabolical management
I think a Sunday League manager could do no worse and if a blue fat better!

trebor

1.) 05 Mar 2018 14:42:33
I think the fans will turn on the board at some point if this carries on.

2.) 05 Mar 2018 23:04:49
My long suffering missus have me confined to the nearest sanitarium. She already thinks I’m crazy for following this lot. I have told her it is a long term illness that only manifests itself on Saturdays, and normally clears up by Monday, most times that is.

04 Mar 2018 12:07:11
It's a while since I have contributed but I was so disillusioned with me becoming Mr Negative I decided to sit back .
I am not here to say " I told you so " but given that we in my opinion ( given our new found wealth and history ) are about the most tolerant supporters in the Prem league given the dross we being served what are contributors views on the coming weeks!
I think that, what was at one time a loss next week being unthinkable but now possible WE THE PAYING FANS NEED TO STAND AND SHOW ARE FEELINGS
I believe that actually showed at the end of the Burnley game .
Make no mistake we are in free fall, we are in a major crisis
If the season had started at the beginning of Feb we would be DOOMED! As Private Fraser woukd say.

trebor

1.) 04 Mar 2018 12:40:13
Very true mate. This season can’t end quick enough. Team totally disjointed, team selection a bloody mystery, and alienating some of our more creative players in place of grafters.

03 Dec 2017 11:51:22
I am thrilled we have taken 6 points out of 6 after many weeks gaining nil.
A week ago after the Southampton game we looked doomed .
What I would like is for a reputable business manager who looks at crisis management to analyze Everton as to why given we have so many experienced managers of repute at the club that we constantly shoot ourselves in the foot.
Look at how a organization that 6 months ago appeared to have the world at its feet turned it all on their own into a major crisis .
Obviously the object is to find the CAUSE first and foremost and then more importantly the means of FURTHER PREVENTION .
It's only by learning from your mistakes that you improve
This can be seen in basic life as we grow up as children, learning not to make the same mistake twice .
I refer as a example the selling of our primary asset without any replacement prior to the sale.
We shout ourselves in the foot good style but did we learn our lesson, NO we went and then sacked the manager, but hey shouldn't we have someone lined up before we sack him .
We also bought three or four players who performed the same function which is like a factory buying three of the same parts when at the most they needed one and possibly a back up but then left other critical areas sparse
Of course not this is Everton we like to do things the hard way .
I don't want to take the shine off our 6 points but I just cannot believe the way these billionaires have acted .
I have had sleepless nights worrying about my beloved club and don't want to go through that again .
Prevention is better than cure
Anyone got any views on what the overall cause was
Did the money for example go to our heads?

trebor

1.) 03 Dec 2017 20:53:24
Im so fed up of your negativity. Yourself and a handful of others constantly gripe about all thing Everton. Even after a win all we hear is that is a new manager bounce and soon we'll be back into the relegation fight.
Show some support for the team for once and see where this season yet goes.

2.) 03 Dec 2017 22:37:18
Well said Worcester, lose one game and the doom merchants are on it like a dog on a bone, win two games and it’s we played no one wait until the next match, I look at one game at a time, if we win that’s great, enjoy the moment instead of worrying about the game next until we play it. If we won a cup some would probs moan about the kit we wore, big thumbs up from me Worcester.

28 nov 2017 18:42:08
tony cottee just said he worried for west ham if efc appoint someone tonight, which let's face it ain't going to happen but we all been saying for weeks just get it done ✅!
how come we all know this but the board don't?
dither dither dither.

trebor

1.) 28 Nov 2017 19:45:41
trebor: imho the club finds itself between a rock and a hard place (of its own making! ) regarding a managerial appointment.
On the one hand, they want someone in the short-term to steer us safely clear of the relegation zone this season; on the other hand, they want a manager who’ll eventually play the more expansive football that makes us genuine challengers for European qualification and trophies.
In either case, the new manager will need to reshape the squad - starting in January (an expensive and difficult task) - and I wonder if he (especially a short-term manager) would be allowed to be as ruthless and spend as much money on what he sees as required.
It’s clear to me that the club (board and ownership) hoped Unsworth could do a job until, at best, they secured their preferred choice asap this season or, at worst, until they could review matters at the end of the season. It’s unbelievable that they hadn’t already got a new manager ready to come in before they finally dismissed Koeman; in fact, it’s inexcusable that they don’t appear to agree on who they want.

2.) 28 Nov 2017 20:12:15
Why should they agree? Read the posts here - diametrically opposed mostly. BFS is either our only hope or the devil incarnate. Silva is either the next big thing or he's only been in the prem 5 minutes and took Hull down. Fonseca either won the treble and has managed in the champs league or he has no prem experience and manages in a one-team league (even though it's other big team, Dinamo Kiev, handed us our backsides last time we were in the Europa) . Dyche is either our safe option or he's boring and limited. Ok we all agree on O'Neill.

3.) 28 Nov 2017 20:23:26
coyb - who’d want to run a football club? ;-)

4.) 28 Nov 2017 21:30:03
Lol. All of us, mate?

27 Nov 2017 21:06:56
We have two huge games coming up this week and I was convinced a new manager was going to be announced after the Southampton game especially after Moshri comment that a replacement was imminent.
I cannot see us getting a sniff without someone else in charge .
I think the players have completely switched off .
Don't expect much from Wednesday as things stand, so if we get no one in tommo it will mean praying for a miracle and hoping we get someone by Thursday as must be in by then to be able to have some bearing on the weekends game .

trebor

1.) 27 Nov 2017 22:35:02
Even Big Sam is contemplating whether to come to us now. All this because of prevarication by whoever it is that makes the decisions at this Club. It cannot be a single person who has said right that's it, otherwise we would have had someone in weeks ago. And I most certainly do not believe that Mr Kenwright still wants Unsworth.

In fairness Guernsey Blue it’s to be expected a bit of negativity given what we all been through of late communication wise, team wise and everything going wrong in a season that promised so much .
Only Everton could grab disaster out of such a massive opportunity!

I know Barkley does not have long left on his contract but that does not mean we should give him away
We talking Spurs here who are 100% mean and will drive a very hard bargain .
I would rather let his contract run down and see if a long run under a new manager and playing better bringing less stress as fans will get behind him rather than give him away now.
Nb he rarely hasn’t shown how talented he can be and if he cont to perform like that if playing for Spurs he will get just as much stick off them .
What do theses guys expect when getting paid mega bucks and not turning up when needed .
It’s understandable that working class guys and girls are going to be critical.

Didn’t someone called Gerrard have far worse off field dramas than what Ross has and eventually he stayed with reds .
I just think if he is to go for once we play hard ball with that Bloke from Spurs and don’t let him go for a song!
Ok he can go for free in the summer but the amount of money he could save us by staying up might be worth him staying and seeing if a new manager can encourage him to stay.

Evryone keeps saying Everton must take their time not make a knee jerk reaction, important to get the decision correct .
I agree with this 💯 %
What frustrates me is fans saying “ I am glad we are being careful and NOT making hasty decisions BUT if we take it there is no smoke without fire WE HAVE ALREADY ASKED SEVERAL MANAGERS to join us and for one reason or another have been turned down .
When Koeman was sacked any business worth their salt would have had a strategy in place like West Ham obviously did .
All I read when I turn on tv or Internet is press maki g a laughing stock of us over managers turning us down .
I remember when Harry Catrick would do business on the motorway and sign a player before it was even being talked about!
I FEEL DREADFULY SORRY FOR David Unsworth he must feel undervalued, not knowing how long he is going to be in charge and it cannot be good for team morale .
It’s not that we are taking our time to get the decision correct, our problem is we THOUGHT we knew who we wanted but whoever was responsible for assessing the risk of them turning us down got it terribly wrong!
It isn’t going to happen sadly but a big clearout is needed at board level as they cannot even agree amongst themselves.
Finally what I do not understand is all businesses have a “ boss” were the buck stops and we are no different
But it seems whoever our boss is does not have the ability to make the overall decision and this does concern me .

Blue Tommy I live in the Formby area were many of the players and management live.
As for Lookman I can understand that but there can be no doubt his problem of home sickness has been exacerbated by Koemans treatment of him .
I think it is disgusting when someone inept at their job waits to be sacked when they are extremely well off already .
Koeman should be ashamed of himself and resign but he won't .
As for paying him off it is hard to swallow but it's in relative terms only a small amount compared to another transfer
Sad times to be a blue
I just cannot understand the board who must know the outcome
Someone said they read our comments but if they did he would have been gone by now as the customer is always right - oh I forgot we not customers just daft Evertonians
Very Angry Blue.

Robbie it was not that we played well against West Ham it was that they were rubbish .
Also had the penalty gone in it would have ended very differently.
Ducksflysouth is just being realistic, we could win with a new manager and the new confidence BUT be warned it is not a forgone conclusion
They were 1-1 with City and really defended well.
It will take time I love your optimism but I expect a hard fought game .
