27 minute walk out a complete embarrassment
Just support the club when they need us as the majority of true blues did tonight.

Yeah agree lads. Was a stupid idea that's somehow got blown out of proportion and hyped up then never happened. Was glad when hardly anyone left. The crowd were fantastic night.

Think most went the toilets, most true blue just sang with the rest of the crowd, good team effort is all we want.

So if rumours are to be believed then Rafas first signing could be Ramsey, another thirty year old. Apparently they could get him for free but would probably have to pay high wages.
Bit strange this as it's the wage bill we need to get down, and would expect the player would want at least a two year contract.
Hope this is just paper talk, otherwise we have learned nothing.

Only thing worse would be Mourinho managing Ramsey in Goodison. If it happens we sould be relegated directly to league two.

Hi Eds, anything about Digne and Rafa having a bust up?

I think all this Ramsey and Hazard talk is just either trash paper talk or someone at Everton trying to focus attention elsewhere

Mind you Moshiri hasn't learnt anything in over 5 years so you never know.

Ed02 I can't believe that brands has resigned. Was it really his fault? Is he the fall guy? What was he actually brought in to do and was he allowed to actually implement it? This club is an utter shambles.

{Ed002's Note - The problem was initially that the owners was being advided by two third parties. Then there are the severe financial issues, and then there is Benitez wanting control of all transfers.}

It's OK saying Benitez out next but who comes in? There's not a mass of quality managers out there, especially ones that would take a down step. Whether he stays or not, the fact is we have no money, will likely lose Richarlison, maybe more and we will have no choice but to get youth more involved. Gordon, Simms, Dobin and Branthwaite need a run of games.

05 Dec 2021 21:47:54
Applaud Moshiri? Really? At the moment Moshiri is getting a lot of good faith probably based solely on the new stadium, which whilst a great achievement will mean nothing if the issues on the pitch aren't sorted.

I agree Brands had to go, but his failure is almost certainly not of his own making. Bought in to do a job, then by all accounts over ruled at almost every turn. Given managers to work with who just want to do their own thing and ignore him. Spent most of his summers trying to flog Steve Walsh's failures whilst Moshiri and his 'advisors' went over his head signing more useless dross that he would later have to sell.

Nothing that has happened on the pitch in the Moshiri era has progressed us as a club. Nothing in the youth set up, nothing in the u23s. No culture, no philosophy, no plan and no clue. Genuinelly believe we are now well and truly the laughing stock of English football, not an article is written about us that doesn't mock our transfer activity.

The only thing that changes that is results and I'd say Rafa has until the end of the Palace game to sort that out, or he will be the next in an increasingly long list of expensive failures.

Sad, sad times.

I'm with ED002 on this, in my opinion sacking Brands is a mistake he could of, if given the power to do so made the necessary changes required to progress the footballing side of the club. I would love a statement from Brands just clarifying who he actually wanted to buy and who he had to agree to buying. can't see it happening unless he writes an auto biography.

I’m sort of with you Sa90
I don’t why you bring in someone like Brands and then handcuff him so he can’t do his job
And take advice from these third parties over and over again!
It’s very sad times I just hope the players returning from injury make a difference.

Hi Ed’s. Are you able to update us on any transfer incomings/ outgoings going in to January? Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - Everton are hovering around FFP issues and need to reduce the wage bill and utilise the cheaper or free options available to them (like Begovich, Townsend and Gray this past summer) and face work to extend contracts of some of the 8 who will out contract in the summer. They had a huge James Rodriguez issue that has now been resolved and 10 players aged 30 or more in the squad. Money will be very tight after a £140M loss last season pushing debt up to more than £400M. Mosiri continues to supplement the club up to the FFP limit but they will be structured as loans and have been partially used to reduce debt - which is a good thing.

I cannot sensibly discuss the timing of transfers:

Possible Outgoings:
Jordan Pickford (G) has been recommended to Spurs.
Andy Lonergan (G) Out of contract in the summer.
Asmir Begovic (G) Out of contract in the summer.
Jonjoe Kenny (RB) Out of contract in the summer.
Yerry Mina (CB) Will be available at the right price. It will be difficult to find a buyer willing to pay a significant amount for him but Fiorentina may offer an option as they look for a Nikola Milenkovic replacement. If Inter were to lose Bastoni, and they are hoping they don't, they might look to him. Milan know that Kjaer will be moving on an provide a more viable option. Could potentially leave as early as January. Everton will look for €20M but may have to settle for far less.
Jarrad Braithwaite (CB) Out of contract in the summer.
Fabian Delph (CM) Out of contract in the summer.
Tom Davies (CM) is seen as an option for Crystal Palace if they are unable to secure the permanent signing of Conor Gallagher which is most unlikely. Davies is not being used by the Everton coach and will need to consider his options.
Allan (CM/DM) The player has shared a desire to return to Italy and Everton are looking at options for midfield over the next two windows and have a couple of players in mind. The sale of Allen would depend on the price which is falling away and clubs accepting a player who will by then be 31. It might be tough to find a buyer.
Gyfli Sigurdsson (AM) Out of contract in the summer.
Cenk Tosun (S) Out of contract in the summer.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (S) with Everton in need of adding a striker the chances of DCL being sold unless a very significant offer arises are small. However, Arsenal are still looking for a striker and interest remains. The Real Madrid coach has said he is one of the rare English players who he thinks would take to football on the continent - so there may be interest. Other clubs looking for a striker such as Spurs have other preferred options. Manchester United may also provide an option.

Some interest in:
Daniel Munoz (RB) Fiorentina saw him as an option to Zappacosta but ended up taking a loan of Odriozola and will return to Munez in 2022. Everton will perhaps offer an option if funds allow - there have been previous discussions wth Genk. Work permit could be an issue in England.
Harry Souttar (CB) Stoke City would sell at the right price but the interest of Burnley and Everton will have gone after he suffered a Cruciate Ligament Rupture.
Gleison Bremer (CB) Carlo Ancelotti tried to take him to Napoli and that sparked the interest of Brands at Everton - but a Work Permit was seen as an issue unless paying over the odds. First choice for Everton still if Mina goes - but it would not be an attractive option for the player who wants to be playing at a higher level. If Mina stays nothing will likely happen - but I think he will move on. Previously of interest to Leicester and Liverpool but both opted for others. Is of interest to Inter Milan who fear losing Alessandro Bastoni in the summer of 2022. Juventus have him on a list of options should the lose de LIgt in the summer but there are certainly a couple ahead of him. Clubs have been scouting him as they expect him to be available in the summer as he has so far refused a new contract. Won't be moving to Everton.
Samuel Umtiti (CB) decision is that he has dropped to the bottom the list of Barcelona CBs making chances slim that he would ever be a regular - released from his contract. Zenit offered an option in the summer but the player insisted he wanted to stay at Barcelona. Benfica had an offer accepted by the club but the player rejected. He can now join a club as a Free Agent in January with Milan providing an option and Everton keeping an eye on the situation as they want to replace Mina.
Harry Winks (DM/CM) Spurs told interested sides in the summer that he was not for sale but if the player were to ask to leave the coach would be supportive of that. Aston Villa moved on from Pape Sarr and made an enquiy about his availability in the summer - that interest may remain. If West Ham were to sell Rice they might offer an option - as perhaps Manchester United might as a possible Matic replacement. Leicester might also be a possible destination if they were to lose Ndidi, but they have a preferred target in mind. Southampton have declared an interest. He would provide an interesting option for Everton but they would need departures first.
Gonzalo Villar (CM) It has not worked out for the player in Rome and his agent is being asked to find him a new club. Tentative approaches have been made to a number of mid-table Spanish sides but they have no interest at a €12M asking price for a player who would largely be a fringe player. This has prompted the player being offered to at least Newcastle and Everton in the Premier League.
Sean Longstaff (CM) Newcastle fear losing him as a Free Agent so may be open to a January sale. Everton and possibly Leicester offer options.
Aaron Ramsey (CM) will be 31 by January and has been available for a while. Juventus are willing to release him from his contract at any time and his agent and a better known third party are working hard to find him a new home - the problem will be agreeing a salary package for a player who is now become a bit part player at Juventus. He may well have proven to be a reasonable Wijnaldum replacement at his best but those days appear gone and I am not aware of Liverpool looking to him but the supporters keep asking. May be difficult to find a home for but Juventus had hoped Paratici would be interested in taking him to Spurs - but that was not the case. There was an enquiry from West Ham, possibly at the prompting of his agent. His agent has more recently spoken with Everton who are hovering around FFP issues and need to reduce the wage bill and utilise the cheaper or free options available to them (like Begovich, Townsend and Gray this summer) and face work to extend contracts of some of the 8 who will out contract in the summer. If something could be done to keep the wages reasonable he may provide a solution for them in midfield. Newcastle have been approached by his agent but have no need for such a player although they fear losing Sean Logstaff in the summer. Juventus were quoting €10M for him in the summer - now they want his wages off the books. If they cannot find a club to pick the player up as a Free Agent, they could end up negotiating to buy him out of the rest of his contract and he could end up in a similar position to Jack Wilshere.
Donny van de Beek (CM) Everton and Wolves provide options for a loan - his agent is also looking for other options and he has been offered through a third party to Barcelona and Juventus. Manchester United will now let him leave in the summer but the player wants out in January if possible and that may suit Juve. The player wants Real Madrid if possible. Manchester United may well block that and again hold another player hostage with his value likely to have halved from what they paid for him. They will want a sale not a loan.
Iddrisu Baba (CM/DM) has a huge €45M buy out clause but Real Mallorca will cash in at a lower fee to raise funds - but 50% of the fee will be owed to Leganes. Benitez would like to take him to Everton but funds could be a problem without sales - perhaps an Allan replacement.
Angelo Fulgini (CM/AM) Feyenoord had an offer rejected last summer. Southampton, Burnley, Fulham and Everton have looked at the player.
Ross Barkley (AM/CM) will be available for sale. Newcastle offered an option if they could not sign Willock. The thought is that Leeds, West Ham or Everton may offer a loan option. Burnley may offer a loan with an option to buy. Knuckle-dragging bonehead Chelsea want shot of.
Isco (AM) Everton has asked about a January loan. Seems unlikely.
Jesse Lingard (AM) Needs to move on. Everton, Newcastle and West Ham may offer options.
Emre Tezgel (S) 16 year old striker attracting the attention of Manchester City, Everton and Chelsea. There is a huge complication which means the clubs need to tread very carefully.
Sardar Azmoun (F) Out of contract in the summer and available as a Free Agent. Emerging as an option for Everton to replace either Calvert-Lewin or Richarlison if either were to leave. Prior interest of Leicester, Lazio, PSV, Liverpool and Marseille has gone - but he been playing very well for Zenit and that has also attracted the interest of Milan and West Ham. Expect a move this summer.
Daniel Jebbison (S) Everton had an offer rejected in the summer but could return with another. Brighton and Union Berlin have a declared interest in the Canadian.
Luka Jovic (S) there was the option to return to Eintract Frankfurt on a loan with an obligation to buy but it depended on selling Andre Silva and not replacing him - but they opted for the well thought of Rafael Borre. Milan have a sustained interest but have opted for a cheaper solution. Inter wanted to take him as cover but they have much preferred options but if they can offload Sanchez he becomes viable. Was offered to West Ham but nothing came of it. A third party enquired on behalf of Arsenal but come the end of the summer window there was no space for him - could return for him as a Lacazette replacement, and that would not be a surprise. Roma were offered him but the coach turned him Real Madrid will offer him in part exchange for others. Everton could be open to discussions but I am not aware of an approach just yet.

We have read the speculation about Arsenal interest in DCL.
To add to the list Now read that
Rafa is open to letting Pickford leave to Spurs for £30m. Ridiculous low price when the club need money. £50-£60m.

Also the owner interested in Mourinho as manager if Rafa leaves.

Also Everton interested in signing Eden Hazard.

No doubt more speculative stories will emerge. I would think there may be some truth behind the first two stories.

Brands going is a no brainier. What had he achieved to merit a new long term contract? Where are the hidden gems that his far reaching scouting network unearthed? Where is the philosophy, the passion, the blueprint for success? Get him gone. If he had any pride he’d walk.
Benitez is trickier. He should never have been hired, the toxic atmosphere was inevitable. Now we have him, how long do we keep making excuses for him? The vibe around the club is poisonous, our great club is a laughing stock.
For me, the answer is to cut our losses and hire a young, passionate, forward thinking manager.

Wasn’t it Brands who brought Dacoure in when Carlo hadn’t even heard of him. He brought young Kean in and the kid was never given a chance, yet the top clubs in Europe were fighting for him.
Richarlison, Digne, Mina, Godfrey, Branthwaite, Nikounkou. Gbamin, King, Delph, Gomes, Iwobi, Bernard.
I don’t believe he decided on Rodriguez, Rondon, Grey, Allan or Townsend.
And ultimately that is where the problem is. Their is no point having a DOF if you are constantly changing the manager. Each manager has his own style and the type of player he likes.
It would be like having a new wife each year. They would want a new bed, new furniture and the rooms painted. Then they would have their mates in the background saying, no don’t do what he says do this. It would drive you nuts.
Think the guy is in a no win position here, and I think that message he gave to the fan the other day pretty much highlights that. Yes the guy has made some mistakes, but they have not all been bad, and it would be fascinating to see what the aftermath is if he does go.
Might find out what is actually going on in the club, warts and all.
