Just read links to Valentin Atangana and for around 9 million.

This kid could be that good that I would rather park the Gueye talks until the deal was done.

Remember Will Still talking about this lad whilst being manager at Reims.

Strong as a bull. Calm in possession, never rushed. Only 19. Would be perfect for us in the middle of the park.

Sounds just what we are looking for BN, Gana wants longer than the year offered maybe the time is right to let him go, Gana has been a good player for us let’s see what happens mate.

Agree0 0Disagree

21 Jun 2025 13:56:24
Absolutely GB.

I am one of Gana's biggest advocates and would love him to sign on but the deal has to be right for us as a club. We can't commit to a longer deal at high wages at the age he is at.

Agree2 0Disagree

21 Jun 2025 14:57:43
What is don't get with the gana situation is why only 1 year? To me i get with his age there will be a drop off at some point but if we were to give 2 years then next summer look to sell him to either middle east or france then this surely helps us with PSR as well.

Agree3 0Disagree

21 Jun 2025 15:17:36
Gana is absolutely right to look after his own interests. He knows what on offer and at some point prior to the window closing he will know what's best. If someone elsewhere offers him 3 years and he wants to play on then that'll be what he does. If he wants another year in the world's best league, . he stays. Honestly the panic for deals is unnecessary and unrealistic. Calm down dears I don't expect it all to get moving for another month at earliest. Better to spend time analysing the off field appointments.

Agree0 0Disagree

21 Jun 2025 15:35:03
He has earnt a 2 year contract. Still got the quality and engine.

Sign him on for two years, sell him after one if he dips. Get it done.

21 Jun 2025 19:51:58
Or one year with the activation of a second year if certain criteria are met. It’s not uncommon.

It worries me that this was not sorted weeks ago. The only thing that could be holding it back is PSR and they are waiting until July to put it into next year rather than this.

I stop can’t get my head around why we have no money in comparison to others. It’s not like we are not able to generate money from merch or matchday revenue. We’ve offloaded a few high earners who haven’t lived up to their price tag so I’m hoping July is the start of sensible purchases of who will play for the shirt.

Get Gana, a RW, ST, RB or CB cover, GK cover, CM cover and RB/ LB cover. Is it too much to ask?

20 Jun 2025 10:41:13
Timothy Weah most recent name being passed about. US international, only 25, plays on the right hand side. Would be a great addition imo, would get the yanks buying some shirts! I hope this one's not just click bait.

George Weah's son isn't it? Was a striker, then put on wing but I'm sure for the USA or current club he has been playing as a RB last season.

Seems to me the only truths are that the club is still appointing backroom and board staff. Slow and methodical. No rush lads.

Yuri Alberto linked again with us and Moyes a fan as he tried to sign him when West Ham manager. 70 odd goals in 180 odd games and 24 years old. Fee roughly 17 million if it's a goer. Thoughts on this as a signing? Personally I think he could be a decent signing.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

19 Jun 2025 21:03:24
At that price, probably worth a sniff. Moyes has always liked a Brazilian!

Got to be better than Barry who is another Beto type risk at 30m+.

The next Richy?

For £17m it could be worth a punt….

Agree0 0Disagree

20 Jun 2025 09:34:31
Got to be better than Barry?

Yuri Alberto is a 23yr old brazilian striker, whose still playing in Brazil

he signed for Zenit for 25mill, then went back to Brazil on a free (may have been for war reasoning but still BACK TO BRAZIL)

he's slow, he's stiff and it's a huge red flag all the above that in a world where everyone wants brazilian forwards one with that goal record never get's a move

says it all.

they all leave between 17-20 these days if they're any good.

Agree0 0Disagree

20 Jun 2025 16:59:06
Agree with everything Wblue2 has said there apart from that he's slow. He is quite quick tbf to him but agree that he is stiff as a board and not who we should be going after in terms of strikers.

Emegha
Guessand
Kalimuendo
Bonny
Esposito

Any of those would do us just fine.

Agree0 0Disagree

20 Jun 2025 18:51:53
Emegha would be my choice.

Agree0 0Disagree

21 Jun 2025 11:21:32

But, i think our striker signing will be Evan Ferguson.

Always take what the papers say, with a large pinch of salt, however, it has been widely reported that the club have given Moyes a budget of 70mill, that may seem a lot of money however, givern that our neighbours have just spent 116 mill on one player, and seem set to spend millions more, it does put Moyes budget into perspective.
I appreciate that with European football, this gives greater spending power, but, if we are to close the gap to the top end of the prem, and given the savings that have been made getting rid of the dead wood on blowted contracts, I really was expecting our new owner to push the boat out, at least 100mill plus.

{Ed025's Note - i was hoping for more than that PSG..

Believable0 0Unbelievable

19 Jun 2025 21:14:06
I’m with you Ed.

Whilst £70m is a huge amount of money - in football it’s not that much particularly for a team trying to rebuild.

If the rumours are true regards this Barry bloke and the £35m fee then that’s half the rumoured budget gone already!

Hopefully whatever money is available is used wisely for a change and we buy players in positions we need, who haven’t suffered numerous injuries and are a young enough age which will allow us to if need be re-sell them in the future.

{Ed025's Note - yeah im with you Dan, £70m is just not enough im afraid mate..

Agree0 0Disagree

19 Jun 2025 21:59:56
If Moyes is astute as he always seems to be and with the possibility of up to 4 loans, it may be sensible not to blow more than £70m.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think its about blowing it Will...its an investment, if you have any ambition you have to keep up with the Jones,s in this league mate or you will be left behind im afraid, imo £70m gets you two above average players on good wages...im afraid we need more than that..

Agree0 0Disagree

19 Jun 2025 22:44:49
It might sound like a daft question but what is restricting us so much?

We’ve made losses for 5 years in a row. It can’t just be wages causing us to have such huge debts. I believed it was building the stadium and associated costs but thought PSR didn’t take infrastructure or development into account. Fed up of massive restrictions when we have a top ten attendance in the league and our matchday turnover isn’t awful.

Why are we so broke each year? Where is all the expenditure going?

I’m not saying we should have £100s to spend each year but we have no chance to compete in the current climate.

Agree0 0Disagree

19 Jun 2025 22:48:00
I get some of the sentiments but given our financial situation over the past couple of seasons, is it a surprise that we don't have a shed load full of money to spend?

PSR is still an ongoing issue, and we need to manage our balance sheet carefully. Hopefully after a couple of years at BMD we'll be able to have more to spend.

Rome wasn't built in a day guys.

2 goalies
2 right backs
1.left back
1 central defender
2 midfielders,
2 right wingers
1 / 2 strikers
All for 70 million.

{Ed025's Note - looks like we will be shopping in Aldi Pasty mate.. :)

Agree1 0Disagree

20 Jun 2025 10:37:35
70m is more than enough unless you want to pay over the odds for bang average players. let's not forget the league is rigged to allow certain clubs the ability avoid PSR sanctions via creative accounting methods.

Agree0 0Disagree

20 Jun 2025 11:26:28

20 Jun 2025 13:02:50
No wonder we’re dabbling in the out of contract market. As people have already mentioned £70mil isn’t a lot for a rebuild

This is potentially why we are looking at the “out of contract market” with additions like walker, to plug a gap til next season. Not the perfect signing but an important one.

Sign 3 half decent players on a free. A few loans.

It means we can wisely spend the £70m on 2-3 young players.

It’s possible to improve the squad with that budget if we are smart.

It’s critical to get those players like Walker though IMO. He can do a job for 12 months.

It personally brings things back into perspective for me.

19 Jun 2025 15:03:21
Myers saying Everton are interested in Barry but not Walker, hope that's true would definitely bring Barry in.

See we've started talks with Branthwaite over a new deal, he's only got 2 years left so hopefully time we get him signed up we can still sell him for a few quid. Why hasn't Gana been sorted yet. It's been months.

Agree0 0Disagree

19 Jun 2025 19:54:57
Blue_dev Branthwaite has 2yrs left and the club then has an option for a 3rd year.

Good to see the club are trying to get him a new improved deal.

19 Jun 2025 22:38:43
What I'm meaning is it takes us so long to sort anything out with contracts, they will need those 2 years to get to a stage we're he's close to signing. We can use the 3rd year to get the photos done.

Hi guys and Ed's, please don't shoot the messenger here but exciting news from a great source, a mate of mine is medical officer at broad green hospital and Grealish was their today with all the plungers on his chest apparently getting the first part of his medical to join the blues, their is nothing on the deal atm but I'm presuming it will be a loan with city offsetting some wages as he wants to stay in the north west, I am so excited by this this, we are making a statement and if anyone says we don't need him then they are insane, he is streets above what we have already and can play anywhere across the front line and I suggest he will be the main man for the club and he will revel in that, thoughts people.

Believable1 0Unbelievable

18 Jun 2025 20:27:30
He didn’t have his mate Walker with him did he?

Why would he be at Broad Green getting the medical? Do we not have facilities at Finch Farm or use a private doctors?

Agree0 0Disagree

18 Jun 2025 20:31:50
He's abit of a maverick in his lifestyle but can't argue that he would improve us. Our new stadium has a larger pitch I believe than goodison and some players excel with the extra space compared to compact pitches. I personally think he will flourish for us.

18 Jun 2025 21:03:41

I’d be over the moon with that if he’s the guy Moyes wants. Villa are a similar club to ours, great traditional club with strong fan base. I think the fans would warm to him very quickly.

18 Jun 2025 21:38:28
That image of him being carried by team mates after the treble party leaves a bad taste for some supporters but he’s just a lad who’s lived his dream and been part of a team that’s matched one of greatest achievements in football

If he wants to smash 5 litres on Vodka and let his fair down, so be it. Party time is over now and time to get back to his best 👏.

Rumour has it we have Palace as the first home game at BMD HD stadium. It will be interesting to see how accurate the rumours are tomorrow when the schedule is announced.

I know many people will want one of the breakaway 6 but I’d be happy with a team we have a good winning record against like Palace. Need to get off to a winning start in our new home.

Seen something similar mate but I'd take it with a pinch of salt. The same list had both Newcastle and Sunderland both playing at home on the same day, which never happens apparently. I thought it was a bit suss that it also gave which games had been chosen for the different tv channels.

Believable3 0Unbelievable

17 Jun 2025 09:43:39
Whilst you are not wrong Woburn, it shows how poor we have been in recent years that all 3 of them would still improve our team.

I doubt we will be going for more than 1 of them tbh. Walker would be the worst one out of the lot. Oldest by some margin, no desire left as he has won it all, big wages and obviously a major tit. At least Coufal is a model professional. Fit as a fiddle and Moyes knows him inside out.

Agree1 0Disagree

17 Jun 2025 12:07:30
I think this is the usual xxxx journalism we get when ever the window opens, so many in the know, trusted journalists and I’ve been told journalists etc etc etc just the usual rags spouting rubbish.

Agree0 0Disagree

17 Jun 2025 21:04:33
It’s a tough one, we can’t solve all of our problems in one season signing young potential. I hope the Walker and Fred rumours are just click bait. I would have no issue with Coufal, Moyes knows him, fit as a fiddle and a model pro… most of all he’s available on a free and wages should be considerably lower than Fred Walker.

Agree0 0Disagree

17 Jun 2025 21:58:40
Fred - no, he was garbage for United. Walker - no, his pace has gone and he can’t defend. Coufal - Meh’ I suppose he would be a good filler.

It’s not a bad thing to sign someone with experience as long as they are an improvement. Van der sar for United, Gough for us to name a couple.

But you should only have one or two at the most.

17 Jun 2025 07:01:35
I suspect it’ll need to be balanced with who’s available on a free and where we spend money. We’ve got rid of some older players, I can live with a couple coming in as long as we invest in youth too.

Agree1 0Disagree

17 Jun 2025 07:20:29
To be fair, Walker is still decent, he's got Premier league experience, is a winner, relatively injury free and could play right back or centre back, so a one year contract sounds decent if he is free or a loan.

{Ed025's Note - i suppose its how you look at it Dev, for me Walker is crap and he will be a blocker for a younger full back coming through, i will have the experience bit but we already have that i feel in the likes of Tarks, Gana and Pickford, but its all about opinions i suppose mate..

Agree0 0Disagree

17 Jun 2025 08:46:44
Patterson hasn't been getting a game anyway, Dyche and Moyse both preferring Coleman or Walker. Would be happy to go for younger player but will probably cost extortionate amounts, when we need to spend big on a striker and wingers.

Agree1 0Disagree

17 Jun 2025 09:29:05
Its all media rubbish while nothing is happening. The club will have their targets and we won't even know who they are. We will just see who has signed and won't know if they where 1st 2nd or 3rd down the list of players wanted.

Agree0 0Disagree

17 Jun 2025 15:33:42
I've seen a few posts in this forum talking about a so called leak at the club. How much truth is actually in that? From what I see, the press link us to every player, regardless of age or how much their wages would be, so surely they will be right a couple of times with their speculation? If that's the case then there is no leak, they are just getting a couple of our targets right and that would happen when they are naming around 200 players that are coming to us.
