Ed, I know you have answered a lot of questions about niasse. Can I ask, I saw you mention that you think it's a replacement for lukaku, which I saw reported as well. Do you think this means he we leave before tomorrow or is this in anticipation of him going in the summer?

{Ed025's Note - rom wont be leaving in this window cropper, but we are gearing up to losing him come summer, he wants CL football and who can blame him but its all being fueled by his agent raiola who is the biggest leech on the planet, there will also be major bids for stones and barkley but we may be able to resist them if the money from the sale of rom is as high as expected mate..

Thank you for clarifying that was kind of what I expected. Think we have to accept that 1 or maybe 2 of Rom, stones or ross will leave but it would have been disastrous if they left tomorrow. Personally I would rather stones leave. Although I think he has the potential to be a world class defender, I feel a ball playing cb is a luxury and we could get someone who is as good defensively for a lot less.

I'd prefer Ross to leave, he's shown no improvement since breaking in to the first team, still making the same mistakes and is still as weak as ever. Though I want Stones to leave as I would like us to go back to basics with defending. Going to be gutted when Rom leaves, been fantastic for us, bargain at 28m.

Rom has been fantastic and if we get the reported 65m its good business.
He was never gunna stay unless we get cl and sadly that's years away.

{Ed025's Note - unfortunately your right ant..

I had that thought Swan. Ross is so frustrating the majority of the time. Given his form this year, other than the beginning of the season when he did well, I'm not sure we would actually get that much for him. By that I mean the huge amounts of money we were talking about a couple of seasons ago. Also 28 is definitely a bargain. We will be looking at near doubling that hopefully.

Lots of criticism for Ross which I think is totally wrong. If he doesn't win games on his own then he's offering nothing! The kid is class an we have nobody in the squad who can match his ability. Everyone saying how class Rom has been but he's not scored for a few games so no doubt we will be calling to get rid soon as well! Very fickle on here sometimes.

longy, perhaps you can be the one to enlighten me on Ross' "unmatched" ability? What is it he does again? .

I think your being a bit harsh on Barkley! Name another player with his ability at his age? I think we expect to much of the lad! Top player an if he was in a team like Madrid you would see how good that kid really is!

He tries to go forward and give us something a little different than the usual slow sideways philosophy that RM has distilled into the rest of the midfield. Don't know if you are happy with having a midfield of "safe" players but I find watching cleverly etc a little boring at times. The same thing is happening with Stones, he has a couple of below par performances and then his confidence is shot probably mostly to do with the stick he gets front us fans!

Paul Pogba, Dele Alli, Marco Verratti, Mateo Kovacic, Alen Halilovic, Oliver Torres, Gerard Deulofeu, Raheem Sterling, Julien Draxler, Neymar.

Sure there are more if I watch more games, they are all better players than him too. They are all developing too, Dele Alli is 2 years younger and plays like he's 10 years older. Ross plays like an 18 year old. He wouldn't get in Madrid's team.

longy, I don't find Ross exciting to watch, I find him infuriating. If he took risks (like Alli does) and they pay off (like Alli does) then I wouldn't complain. What risks does he take? He sprints forward 10 yards once every 10 games or does a nutmeg every 10 games and people go crazy. He's nothing special, his goal/ assist ratio for his career is beyond dreadful. He is just a glorified Mo Diame, same lazy play style and once in a blue moon something good happens, the other 30+ games of the season? You forget they're playing.

Just have to disagree Swan, I personally only have barkley as one of a couple I would pay to watch at everton. Disagree with you though about what you think he contributes. The goal the other night against city, any other of our midfielders when they get the ball were he picked it up would of just rolled it sideways or backwards but he just drove at goal which is what I referred to before as to why he is different to anyone else we have.

Swan is very similar to Barkley. Barkley can be world class one day and average the next.
Swan talks sense one day and utter rubbish the next.
We've got a real player in Barkley we need to get off his back.

How anyone can slate Barkley is beyond me. He's young direct and effective. Those who say what does he do. well. he's played 30 games this year and got 9 goals and as many assists. You watch him every week so decide to pick on his faults. if anyone thinks those young players listed above won't have ups and downs and make mistakes then you are deluded. Let the lad play and be happy we have a talent like him at our club. He is t the best in the world by any means, but he is a very fine player.

Completely agree with swan that Barkley is the disposable player out of the 3 and easily replaced. Final ball poor and vision not improving. Stones makes mistakes but that is down to Martinez being defensively clueless. You could replace him with the best defenders in the world and we would still leak goals because Martinez has no clue. The one we won't replace is rom. When have we ever had a striker who scores the way he does? And it will be another 10/ 20 years before we find someone else like him. If we had a decent manager we would be vying for CL places and all 3 would stay! Martinez OUT.

Everton Dave. I'm new to this rumour posting lark so don't worry I will have people disagreeing with me in no time. in fact I will set the ball rolling now. Let's give Martinez a new 5 year contract (only joking by the way)

Have to disagree about people wanting Barkly to be sold, if he wasn't an Evertonian, home grown and we brought Ross from another club he would not be getting half the stick he is getting now, he only has to make one stray pass and the groans from the home crowd are deafening, Lukuko miscontrols you get the odd murmer from the crowd. We need to be getting behind him and not crucifying him for anything he tries that doesn't come off. He gets singled out just Like Osman did, this guy has it all, a bit more support from Evertonians and this guy will reach the very top.

We have 3 top class players that are sought after by many top teams, yet so called Evertonian's constantly knock them, question their talent and abilities.
These are young players still learning and developing, they get regular football here they might not get elsewhere, they will also make mistakes.
They have a manager that obviously encourages them to express themselves and showcase their skills and sometimes it goes wrong and everyone bemoans this. Does anyone moan if Ronaldo makes a mistake or Messi I don't think so!
Ross is a great talent he is exiting to watch does takes risks runs at defenders draws fouls, has a great strike and we get results like yesterday, however at times he is frustrating, but shackle him to sideways safe passing, not giving it away by looking for a slide rule pass that may go wrong and he is then just another average player!
I cannot believe so many posters want to constantly keep having a dig at our players!

{Ed025's Note - i dont think they are personal attacks on players wakka, i see it more as frustration of the team underachieving (forget what bobby says because we are), ross is a prime example for me, bags of talent and being a local lad everyone is desperate for him to do well, the thing with him is that at times he can look as though he cant be arsed, he has this lazy style which a lot of quality players in the past have had hoddle and le tissier come to mind, and if there is one thing that an everton fan cant stand its lack of commitment, im not saying ross is not giving his all but sometimes it can look that way mate..

Ed025 I see your point but feel Ross looks like he is playing to instructions, so I don't completely blame him, I also believe stones is guilty of the same. Ultimately RM's weaknesses are reflected in the team.

{Ed025's Note - i think your right wakka..by fear is that we wont see the best of ross until he leaves..or until we change manager at least mate..
