I thought Brands was looking at his options for manager I could be wrong though. Why should there be such a rush over such an important decision?

By all accounts it will be announced when Brands officially starts work on the 1st. Just what I read in an article.

I also heard that Silva can talk to anyone after 1st June and was just put on gardening leave, hence the delay!

Arteta has NO EXPERIENCE and as for people saying Silva has not ties tell Watford that they are the ones trying to get compo for him.

If Arteta didn’t want to work under a DOF at Arsenal, would he take the Everton job?

I am sure Ed there are many different opinions out there at the end of the day Mr Moshiri has to get it right, after last season we cannot afford to get it wrong.

{Ed025's Note - its a massive decision DC, get it right and we are back on track to maybe become one of the elite clubs who can attract the better players and at least threaten the big 5, get it wrong and its another few years in the doldrums mate..

I’m struggling to think of who we could get who is better.

Benitez - risks splitting support. Can see people turning on him quickly due to his managerial history which could create a further toxic environment at games.

Dyche and Howe - similar to Moyes in my opinion. Would they attract the big names to match the ambition of Moshiri?

Arteta - is he experienced enough as a manager yet?

Simeone, Luis Enrique, Fonseca or any European based manager - have no premiership experience so would be a risk. Plus, who says they would come? We didn’t give Koeman long and in the public eye we have dealt with Allardyce badly.

Sounds like Silva wants to come. He has some premiership experience. Is he less of a risk?

I think we all agree that after the last 3 seasons, we could do with sticking with someone for a few years. Silva needs to repair his reputation so it could be a long term plan for him also.

Like it’s bedn said already: he’s a step up from Allardyce.
