Diego Costa anyone?
I know he's 30 but it would still make next season very entertaining for the fans. And he might just be the stop gap we need till we do either develop our own, or get the right player in.

{Ed002's Note - Would not be a shock to see an approach made - but the club need to consider the thoughts of the coach and DoF who would not be happy.}

Any degree of truth to the reports that Moshiri wants to sign Diego Costa though Ed? He is definitely better than our current striking options in my opinion. As you say though it could be not to the wishes of Brands and Silva. I'd take him although hope he behaves himself. His on field antics are entertaining but he does sometimes go over the top.

{Ed002's Note - As I have said, I understand what is happening here and Moshiri is taking third party advice still and may well be calling the shots here - and if an approach is made Brands and Silva may not be happy. This is not a dissimilar situation to last summer.}

Wouldn’t want us to go for him ageing high wages and no sell on value! The owner cannot go against marcel and Marco and rise upsetting them.

This transfer would not be about sell on fee age wages etc he's a striker that's scored goals our league there's not many strikers available that have prem experience.

Not sure why supporters worry about the finance of the club? We employ people to do that.

You’ve got to remember Everton are a club with the potential to progress not even to succeed at the moment this means older experienced players who can with youth who might I think he’d be a great singing and send the right message that winner are wanted and expected at Everton. There is a massive lack of quality experienced strikers if he’s available grab him gives more time to find the striker for the future.

I just can't see there being much to this story if we did go for Costa the fee would be very big but his wage demands would be huge as well then we would have trouble bringing in other players due to financial fair play rules. Moshiri also made a big point if reducing the wage bill by selling are poor buys and we haven't sold enough of are high earners as it is plus this story comes from daily mail which isn't the most reliable paper either.

{Ed002's Note - The situation is as I explained.}

As I read the article in the echo, mr moshiri said he wants to make a marquee signing and it then says and that COULD be Diego Costa, not that he wanted to sign Costa big difference and I’m all for a marquee signing but suggesting that is Costa is speculative journalism
Big C.

A marquee signing would be great but it needs to be who ever marcel and brands want as they know the type of player they want to fit into their system it should not be who the owner wants no matter how much money he’s pumping in, that’s a recipe for disaster.

Why would we want to sign a big tent?

What situation last summer Ed?

{Ed002's Note - With signings being demanded by the owner after asking an advisor.}

Thought that was year before with buying 3 x no 10s etc. But I bow to your superior knowledge if I'm wrong ed.

{Ed002's Note - I was thinking of last season where a second LW arrived and money was wasted on Mina.}

It’s an “in- tents” pressing game that Marco likes 😉
