I think its crazy how so many footballers have heart problems. you'd think they were near superhuman compared to us mere mortals. wish him a speedy recovery.

It does seem strange but underlying heart issues can effect the fittest of people, I’m into cycling and few months ago Team Ineos sporting director died suddenly of heart attack he was 40 and ex pro who was extremely fit and healthy, it’s very worrying for rest of his who don’t lead a healthy lifestyle like athletes.

It is no mystery at all. As in all very active occupations, Sport (particularly in the pro ranks) , Military, Fire Service etc! Once those retire or cease, then it takes a great deal of physical and in particular mental fortitude to keep the body at such a high fitness level or near as damn it. In not doing so the body begins to ease back. Witness the amount of ex Military in dire straits. I and many many others who had such professions, have been able to adjust. We are the lucky one's.
